I had a transmission rebuilt ( United transmission) 22541 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48219).It won't go in too 3,2,1. Gears & it won't move can drive reverse or one two and three Gears at all.It takes 13.5 quarts of transmission fluid. Does 3 gallons for dumped in there and it still doesn't move. ... !? Wow En I'm happy to hear about the reviews from affordable transmissions Livonia.I will be calling them the very next day for help like ASAP with my trance.Thank you all for the great reviews for this affordable transmission shop.There are great reviews. ...!?Black Love. ... !?

2 monthsIt took 2 months for me to get my car back. They said 7-10 business days to replace the transmission. They also assured me they would call to keep me updated and notify when it was finished. They never called once, I always had to call to find out anything. They even charged me extra for how long they it sitting in their lot. Terrible experience and I highly recommend staying clear of this place.

RICH THE OWNER IS NICE GUY HOWEVER THE SERVICE SUCKS!!!! A WHOLE MONTH AND I DON'T HAVE MY TRUCK BACK I CALLED NEVER TO GET A RETURN CALL NOT ONCE ! THEN TELL ME IT WILL BE READY LAST WEEK THUR. TODAY IS Tue!!!!!! Costing me thousands for rental and no telling if I'm ever getting my truck back tomorrow I will be calling police and making a report to the BBB you guys lack integrity to the tenth power you could cost me my job created undo hardship and stress today ibturned rental in and now got to pay Coworker to bet back and forth to work I shoukd have just spent the money somewhere else THERE WILL BE NO NEXT TIME NOR WILL INEVER REFER THIS PLACE SO KEEP IT I WILL BE MAKING POLICE REPORT FIRST THING INNTHE MORNING!!!!!!!!

One of the worst experiences I've ever had this place lacks integrity always ima give you a call then never do consistent with other bad reviews first time cost me 1700 in rental this time costing me even more with The BBB does not have this buisness as listed at all therefore I will be taking this to the civil courts never waste your time with this place of buisness the moneybits going to cost not having your vehical you might as well go with a buisness that has more integrity and honest with their customers right now im at 2000 for a rental lucky my vehical was under warranty but it still doesn't make up for the very poor communication skills Rich has nor the time span that this place has your vehical I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUISNESS TO ANYONE

I took my vehicle here to get it checked out the man that was there told me it was a common problem with that vehicle long story short I decided to trade the car in and get something else I had it towed back to my house called them and said I would get my keys Monday it s now Wednesday and I still can t get my keys back and now the different guy is saying idk if we even took my keys there s no paperwork for the vehicle he can t get in touch with the guy that took my keys who is his family but he can t get ahold of him to find my keys I would not take any vehicles here worst customer service ever and then get mad at me for being upset about it lol gtfoh clowns

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, DO NOT SEND YOUR VEHICLE HERE. THE WARRANTY COMPANY HAS EVEN TOLD ME TO TAKE MY CAR ELSEWHERE. THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR OVER A MONTH AND HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! WORST TRANs shop

I like straight shooters and the guys here are just that. I was on the verge of saying goodbye my 2014 Focus before I found Affordable Transmissions. I've had issues with the trans since the day I bought it and now it runs better than it ever did. I can't say enough nice things about the service, communication and price. Even the recommendation to rebuild the trans rather than buying a used one was clutch (no pun intended). They kept it honest and straightforward from the beginning and didn't make promises they didn't deliver on. I'd recommend these guys to anyone.Service: Transmission

I would avoid this place at all costs! I was given numerous deadlines for when my vehicle would be done without the manager Rich being able to keep his word. I was told they did good work but to my surprise I was extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism from this business.

Guys at affordable are the most honest around I had them rebuild a clutch did it in like a week sweet timing it was most of the week was waiting on parts .well needless to say I like to race lol. So I burnt up that clutch they put another in no problem.these guys are the best and the most honest I've never ever had any problems with warranty work from them or them calling me within a couple hours saying you need a clutch or a new front end.most respectable shop and will always have all my business.And always the cheapestService: Transmission

My trans blew on my 1998 dodge ram 1500 and on my 5th call relentlessly calling around I stumbled on affordable transmission on Plymouth road and middle belt, I gave them a call and was quoted half the price of the next best price I was quoted from any of the other guys. I quickly got it there and received my truck back in 1 week(most time being spent waiting for trucks unique parts)feeling like a completely different truck that now has unbelievable torque and speed, I am beyond impressed with the work the guys over at Affordable Transmission did, Rich the owner was very reasonable and professional a great understandable guy to help you along the much feared transmission failure process.Thanks again guys!

I would give them 5 stars if they would be honest about time schedules and call back when they say they will call back. The guy told me the car had been started 3 weeks ago and I just talked to them and he said they're finally doing the work they said was done 2 weeks prior. Never calls back when he says he will. I understand what it's like to operate a shop I've been in several. But come on at least call your customers back man.Update. Got my vehicle back with a broken cv axle and strut. They weren't broken when I dropped my vehicle off. But of course "they were broke the whole time the vehicle was in the shop" or w.e I replaced them both at the same time less than 4 months ago and replaced the control arm underneath the current broken cv axle less than 2 months ago and at that time it was still a perfectly good working part. This experience was much less pleasant than my first experience.

I'm very surprised Affordable Transmission has any low ratings, some people you just can't satisfy.I give them a 5 star review and for good reason.They rebuilt the transmission in my Chevy 4x4 PU years ago and it still works great.Several years after that rebuild the transmission dip stick holder mount rusted out and would wobble out.I called and spoke with the owner Jerry who fyi is now handicapped and confined to a chair.He calmly explained a trans rebuild had nothing to do with the dip stick holder or it rusting out.And since the rebuild was several years old, it of course wouldn't be in warranty now even if it was part of the rebuild.But as a courtesy he would buy me a new OEM GM holder and Affordable Transmission installed it for free.I was very impressed and appreciated what they did.Because Affordable went the extra mile for me (especially since they didn't have to) I took my Cadillac Escalade there for a trans repair.They rebuilt that transmission too.I bought the lifetime warranty which requires taking it in once a year for inspection and fluid change.At the 5 year mark the transmission blew and Affordable Transmission rebuilt it in just three days, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.And Affordable Transmission started the lifetime warranty all over again.I asked if they ever close down what happens to my lifetime warranty? Jerry said if that were to ever happen, the new owners would have to sign a contract to honor all warranties or he wouldn't sell to themJerry the owner who was a professional race car driver, (I've seen some videos) has proven to me time and time again that he is an honorable man and a stand up guy that runs an honest shop.Everytime I've been there Jerry is friendly and engaging.During every visit I actually hang around awhile and we laugh and talk about many different life events.His brother Rich is the lead mechanic and his auto repair knowledge goes far beyond just transmissions he can answer any questions you may ask.Jerry's son they call Big Hoss is super cool and can't help customers enough just like his dad, it's truly a family affair.Hope this clears up any misconceptions.Thanks guys for everything you will always get my recommendation.Service: Transmission

Paid over 2,000 for a clutch and it s still doing the same thing. The guy that answers the phone is very unprofessional and rude. I told him my car was smoking and he claimed it wasn t there fault, but a week later my car start doing the same exact thing it went in for. My engine light came on right after also. I paid over 2,000 but it s not fixed!! You pay your money and never fixed!!

I gave one star because i had too. Jerry is a con artist. Will promise you the world with little results. Dont trust any place that only takes prepaid debt cards and cash. If they were trust worthy they would take conventional payments.Owners say they take credit cards but they dont. I picked up my car and was told cash or prepaid visa card. Dont trust this place. They couldnt fix my car and what they worked on leaked when i got it back. I took it to a reputable shop and was done in 3 days no problems.Affordable tied up my car for 6 weeks and still could not fix it or tell me what was wrong.

Affordable rebuilt my torqueflite transmission(the simplest trans on earth) The van didn't make it ten miles. They wouldn't even take it back for a month then it sat there for a month untouched. I caught the owner in a lie several times; I paid 1350 and two towing trips for nothing

My best friend had her car service here spent almost three grand and her vehicle is doing the same thing she tried to take it back , they told her she needs a appointment with out trying to look at it like there where busy as both mechanic sat on there butts and called her names way to take advantage of a woman. What if it was your sister or mother or grandmother that s not right do not use this place please do your research..Service: Transmission

All this place do is lie and lie . They don t call you to update you on anything you literally have to call them . They had my vehicle for about 4 wks and literally these past weeks been stressful . They ll lie and say my vehicle will be ready one week than the next day it s not ready !! I have to ask all the questions to get the information out of them . They not considerate of the fact I have no transportation and been with out my car for almost a month it s ridiculous! And I still don t have my vehicle yet I m just waiting for them to contact me. But I m documenting all this evidence of how terrible of a company they are.Update : I get the vehicle back after it s been a month and a half and after getting it back the transmission is okay, not running the best but they have it back with my turn signals acting up and this was never a problem till now . Never come here it s the worse .Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

Unprofessional trying to tell me my girl suburban trans was a AWD transmission off u a mechanic u no suburbans in 05 didn't have AWD transmission my girl drove her truck for 4 months then the only thing she had was reverse now they wanna say it's a electrical problem but it drove fine for 4 months then have no good customer service and so after spending 2000 dollars we still out of a vehicle kids missing school my girl missing work have to keep getting rentals cause they take forever never again go to them

When i sent my truck to this shop, it was running fine. $1600 plus dollars later, it was NOT and never ran again. I wound up trading it in! Customer service needs to be worked on too!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

This is the worst place of business i have ever been to! They had our car a total of 3 wks to fix a leak. and charged 1500 dollars up front and still never fixed the leak in the trans! Took it someplace else and in 2 days leak was fixed plus brakes and exhaust fixed also!

Brought in my suburban that wasnt shifting into 3rd gear the rebuild was quick and easy affordable and done right im happy with the way everything went. Jerry went the extra mile replacing my valve body also free of charge i will continue to recommend and do further business with this shop ..thanks jerry

Great service.They are family owned for thirty years and helped me and my family get back on the road..my financial situation wasn't the best and they worked with me my giving the best price and applied coupons.i highly recommend these guys to anyone with car issues they do a great job and care about American familys ..THANKS AFFORDABLE

Work was done in a timely fashion, was abel to make payments for the work. When it was time to pay off the transmission they even delivered it to my work. Because I would have to have taken time off work to pick it up.

This place is family owned and operated by two brothers and a son these guys work really hard good customer service and fair pricing and they do a variety of different types of car repairs they do not do electrical though however and they are great at working with warranty companies there in Livonia so if you ever break down in that area these are the guys to call

Terrible place to go. My car has been in an out this shop for the last 8 months for the same problem, and til this day my transmission is still messing up. Don t ever go here if you don t want the headache and stress.
