I would give la Fontaine ford 0 stars if I could. Their service department is rude and completely unhelpful. They provided confusing information about getting the car in and seeing it (stating that is would be the first car in, 3 days in a row). We were in an unfortunate situation because the part is absolute and ford no longer makes it. Instead of offering solutions we received a call that the car was unfixable. We could come pick it up after paying the 325$ diagnostic fee. Upon arrival we discovered that car was completely taken apart with the dashboard in the front seat with the tools sprawled as well. We asked for the car to be put back together. When we picked up the car the second time after it had been put back together; the glove compartment cover was still in the passenger seat. Apparently our definitions of put back together vary greatly. This was a tough situation compounded by a dealership that spent time giving us the run around and was rude, dismissive and incredibly unhelpful.

Rude staff, no appointments, misinformation. I was told to come at 7:30 am and they would provide a shuttle to work and complete the work in a day weeks ago. I get up extra early and drive across town to be met with a rude person at the desk stating I can either pay for a rental car for several days (short fix, I did it myself in an hour after buying one tool) or leave. Don't waste your time, go elsewhere.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The sales team worked to get me the best deal possible and were very patient when I was struggling to pull everything together on my end since it was a very sudden purchase after my last car was totaled. This was all in spite of the fact that they were in the middle of moving to a different location.

I was not going to originally leave a review, but the response by whoever was in charge of the Service Department prompted me to do so. This place clearly isn't operating under the mindset of "the customer is always right" nor with a perspective of "do what is most accommodating for the customer." I required service on a 2002 vehicle due to the window not rolling up.The first issue was how they addressed the issue of a stuck window with bad weather. The solution was to use seal-able tape to cover up the entire window, which adhered not only to the paint of the car but also the weatherstripping. When this tape was removed, it also pulled on the weatherstripping, causing me to have to fix it. When this was explained as a possible issue for future reference, I was proceeded to be explained by whoever was managing the Service Desk that there was nothing else to be done. In fact, I was asked: "What should we have done?" There was no attempt to address the fact I was clearly upset at how they handled my vehicle and there was not even one iota of "you're right, sir, we could have done better." That alone would have sufficed as a response. But instead I was explained the cost of maintaining a motor bay and how there's no other solution than to rely on this method--which I assure you is not some "codified" method by the Ford Motor Company. The second issue was how, upon working on the car, they also damaged a part in the door--making the time it took for this entire service ordeal to complete even longer. This was again, not even that MAJOR of an issue--it was how the ordeal was handled. I was explained that the damage was done.....not due to human error or to someone making a mistake (which I perfectly understand); but rather I was explained...ad nauseum....that my car is over 20 years old and prone to such problems. I'm not sure what the Service folk at LaFontaine think about Ford cars or the Ford Motor Company....but it was almost as if they were admitting Ford cars don't last very long and I shouldn't be surprised by this outcome.Either way, this shop needs to get its act together and stop blaming customers and their cars for things ***THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR***. Do yourself a favor and take the manager's advice: drive the extra miles to a dealership or body shop. Now I have to report this internally through Ford--luckily I have family members in Corporate.Service: Auto body & trim repair

Used 2018 Ford Raptor purchased Dec, 29 2022 from LaFontaine Ford of Lansing. Staff was pleasant and friendly but the transaction took 5+ hours to complete due to multiple system issues (as well as us being from out of state). Dealer did compensate us by providing a full tank of gas, which was appreciated given the situation. The bad: Noticed a rattle at initial (cold) start-up, and upon opening the hood to look for a loose heatshield , etc.. I was informed that the truck had been through rigorous inspection and that it was 100% guaranteed (but still sold as-as on paper) to be defect free. This was reiterated later by the pre-Owned sales manager, Robert Andrus while talking us into purchasing the Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP). Despite that initial rattle, the truck appeared to be in great shape and we did our best to test out the many features during the test drive. However, over the next few days we noticed the rattle (metal on metal, not the normal wastegate rattle) at every initial cold start and discovered that the Cam phasers are completely shot. In addition, the passenger folding mirror motor does not function, the front heated seats do not warm, the transmission bulkhead connector is leaking and we are having intermittend door lock actuator issues. Can't recommend a dealership that would sell a vehicle with so many issues, especially a well-known issue like the cam phaser defect that can cost $2,500+ to remedy and requires removing the entire cab from the frame. Hoping we don't run into issues making the ESP warranty claims with Ford at a local dealership, will update once repairs are completed at our local Ford dealership.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I'd like to thank the service writer Joshua Tarrant and the mechanic Paul Householder for getting my Fusion safe again the other day. They performed an alignment, transmission flush, and fixed an airbag light concern in a week. They not only kept me updated but also fixed the car for under the estimate and maintained a positive attitude and treated me with respect when they did not receive their parts delivery like expected. Thanks again!

Appointment made on the phone sent me to the wrong location and didn't place appt under my name. Luckily the service mgr at the correct location was able to work me in and still get me a rental. My phone number was wrong so luckily I called the next day to see if my car was ready and it was. Everyone at the store was very nice. I left something in my car and they did all they could to retrieve it. Im very grateful.

Honestly Couldn't Ever Refer to Even My EX!! They Hosed my 70+ WIDOW mother, and did so with not only intent, but contempt. And never looked back! Little do they know who their customer really was... but I would NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LaFontaine Chrysler Clinton NOR LaFontaine Auto Group.BUT, I WOULD AND DO RECOMMEND Matt LaFontaine Chrysler and Matt LaFontaine Auto! TOTALLY UN-affiliated with LaFontaine Auto Group!Just DO NOT FALL FOR 'The Family Deal!' IT WILL COST YOU DEARLY!Not only did they separate my mother and I and Completely GHOSTED, cut me out of my own deal, they attempted to play my mother and I against the other! Huge mistake! These guys did the complete opposite of what was agreed to, cause my mother undue stress and burden, but RIPPED HER OFF ROYALLY BUT COULDN'T HELP THEMSELVES BUT TOO CHARGE A 70+ WIDOW WITH ZERO DEBT AND A DAMAGED CREDIT SCORES BY HAVING BEEN "Vroomed" earlier thus year. BUT COULDN'T RESIST AND WENT FOR Ma's JUGGULAR AND 12.57%!!WITH 700+ SCORE and $10G DOWN!! X 72!!But it gets even than that! Upon my arrival to the dealership, I was OBVIOUSLY NOT WANTED THERE, BUT THEY DROVE UP IN A FRESHLY WRECKED AND DAMAGED TRUCK! DAMAGED THAT WAS OBVIOUS ITMS HAD JUST HAPPENED AND DAMAGE OF WHICH WAS NOT IN ANY OF THE MULTIPLE DETAILED VIDEOS, PICTURES AND CERTAINLY NOT DISCLOSED HAD IT HAD BEEN THERE! Which it Was NOT!!Even the antenna was (IS) missing! When I mentioned the noticeably FRESH DAMAGE, Ross replied Well it is a Used truck ain't Perfect brother! Handed me the key fob stating, I gotta get inside, I have a customer waiting! Total BS! He was sitting in an empty office when I walked in and went outside to get the truck! I remained inside until he pulled up in the truck! Brother, you COST YOURSELF NOT ONLY MY MOTHERS FUTURE BUSINESS WITH THE GAME PLAYING, BUT LITTLE DID YOU KNOW, OR CARE, THAT I TOO, AS WELL As my Ride to Michigan, were BOTH LOOKING TO BUY NEW RAMS OURSELVES! Had this had gone the way it should have gone, the way it was AGREED UPON PRIOR TO MY DECIDING TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU SPECIFICALLY Ross, you would have sold three Rams that day and likely a fourth Ram for Johnny's wife as her 17 Laramie just hit 93k!Do NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CROOKS at LaFontaine Chrysler Clinton and LaFontaine Auto Group or 'The Family Deal!'NOT ANY OF THEIR 32 LOCATIONS!!! Instead....DRIVE FURTHER, GET BETTER, @ Matt LaFontaine Chrysler, Chevrolet, Buick and Ford!!And get a real deal!! Not the Family Deal!!Run, Run, Run!Posted with Mother's Approval for L. McC.
