I never write reviews but I felt I had to for this. Bought a Lexus GX, sight unseen (that's my mistake), but took the dealership's word that it had "no rust". They said that to me, verbatim. Well the vehicle shows up and sure enough, the frame is very rusty and there is some rust on the right rear quarter panel. I figured the price was fine, so I just drove it around for 6 months and then finally the rust got so bad the frame started rotting and crumbling in my hands. Body mounts rusted and collapsed. Right rear quarter panel started disintegrating. Rear bumper crossbar was so rusty I could literally pull chunks off with my hands. This was supposed to be my tow vehicle and family hauler, and it was so bad it was no longer safe to drive and I had to send it to scrap. Whatever, it's my fault for buying sight unseen, but I've done that dozens of times with minimal issue. The big issue I have is the dealer specifically telling me over the phone the vehicle had no rust and was perfectly clean. The car was also filthy inside when it arrived. Just a complete lack of respect and honesty from them and I would advise anyone interested in buying from this dealer to give any car a VERY thorough look over, order a pre-purchase inspection, and ask a LOT of questions. Not that you'll get an honest answer anyway.

We drove 3 hours to look at the car . we test drove the vehicle, but had to take a salesman with us. Apparently we weren t trustworthy for a very short drive. He wasn t very knowledgeable about the past history of the car we end up purchasing the car drove it home, and the transmission went out of it a day after we got home with a car. Took it to the shop and there was no oil in the transmission and there was no dipstick to check the trans oil. We called these people and they pretty much said tough luck. And now here we sit less than two months later, and the engines hammering. I would not recommend buying a bicycle from these people.!!!

Great place and great people. I bought my first car through them (2012 Cadillac CTS) and everyone was very helpful and friendly! The salesman Frank was very honest about the vehicle and informative. I would definitely buy through them again!

This is the second car i have purchased for Leon and have never been unhappy. Leon and Richard made the buying process very easy. I highly recommend LAF if you are looking for a car. I love my new one!

This place is cool. It's been almost year since I got my PT Cooler/ aka Cruiser from LAF. The Owner, and crew are really cool. I had to get a few worn parts replaced, but that's normal with any used vehicle. So far, so good and I mos def would recommend anyone to give them a play.

I was in desperate need of a quality car. The cheap car I bought from a private individual had faulty brakes, and I crashed the car and fractured my C6 Cervical. Obviously, I haven't had much of a budget to buy a car, but it was imperative that I somehow obtain a quality, safe car to maintain my employment as a substitute teacher. I was told to go to LAF and to ask for Joe Heikkila. Joe was extremely friendly and straightforward; very different than the stereotypical used car salesman! Joe showed me a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta in immaculate condition. It was already priced at the lowest price that the dealer could afford to sell it for, so there was no need for negotiation. Joe found the perfect, fully functional, safe, good looking car I needed at a price that I could afford. The most unique facet of this deal was that the dealership allowed me to pay with a credit card! This is a rare practice at car dealerships, to the best of my knowledge. This was the only way I could obtain a quality car, since I'd been out of work due to my neck injury and my current income level makes it difficult to finance a car. Joe and the team and LAF literally changed my life! I highly recommend doing business with this dealership, no matter what type of car or financial circumstances that you are dealing with. Thank you again, Joe and Team at LAF!!!

Only giving one star because 0 stars was not an option. The day we bought the car we noticed under the disposable floor mats the floor was all wet. Joe reassured us the window was down and that is why. The car actually leaks all over including the ceiling light the floor in constantly wet. About 6 weeks after our purchase the radiator blows..This dealership told us over and over that the car was good and they wouldn t sell it to us if they wouldn t trust it w their own family. They actually asked me to leave a good review and I can t. I m so disappointed in LAF AUTOMOTIVE GROUP IN LANSING, MI. Would NEVER go back or recommend.

I will never go back! They clear codes! The check engine light came on the next day. Apparently they have a history of doing this. Wish I would have checked the reviews and BBB sooner. I was very clear I needed it to pass inspection because I'm a driver. They promised it would. The first car I looked at was awful. But they were happy to have me buy it. Luckily I knew better. There was no oil!The one I chose was much better but when I went to look under the car while he went in to talk to the owner he rushed back out to tell me it was time to do paperwork. Now I know why.Needs all new brake and fuel lines. They are rusted out. It's going to need at least $2000 worth of repairs on a $6000 car. When I contacted them they denied that they cleared the codes. They didn't offer to do anything about it or the other issues. Just stated that used cars aren't perfect. I thought the guys I was working with were a little more trustworthy than most car salesmen but apparently not. They pretended to care. At the end of the day it's about money. They don't care too much about people. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because so far I really like the car I chose but only because I came in knowing a lot about them and knew what to look for.Do not buy a car here without having it fully inspected first!

I ADVISED EVERYONE WITH ISSUES FROM PURCHASING HERE TO PUT IN A CONSUMER COMPLAINT ON THIS BUSINESS!Within 3 months I had to get a New Engine, that took 3 - 3.5 months. Got it back Drove for one more month and had to take the car to a mechanic that says the trailing arms are rotting away from the frame. Owe $10,000.00 and can't drive it. They barely answer the phone, I have requested the initial Safety Inspection Report - States they cannot locate it. Just unethical and terrible. They will be nice to you until they have your money and then you are on your own.

I waited awhile to give an honest review. I should have gone with my gut reading the negative reviews, I was sold a van that had screws holding the battery connectors in. A bad wheel bearing and now I am having to replace the A/C compressor. I was assured the two year warranty I could get my car repaired for just a $100 premium. Not one mechanic I have talked to will accept said warranty. I've had to pay completely out of pocket for everything. Yes I know it's a used car, but it's the fact I had my three young children with me and was told I could get it fixed if anything has gone wrong with it and that it was a reliable vehicle. Do not trust their cars!

A group of friendly guys selling used cars at (for me) a reasonable price. They had already made some repairs on the car I bought before I even looked at it. Aaron was very informative and helpful regarding the car during the test drive and buying process. Thanks!

Came to help my friend buy a used car after giving up on 3 other places and was pleasantly surprised by the man that came to the parking lot to greet us. I've sadly forgot his name but he was a really friendly older man who said he was a judge for MMA match's. He definitely made the experience enjoyable and I hope if I buy another car soon he's the one working that day.

Leon and his team do a great job! They are all very knowledgeable about cars and what options to recommend based on the client s needs. All of the team members are polite and friendly. I will definitely recommend LAF as a good option to shop for a used car.

Dealer said they had to ride in the back of the car with us, which seemed very odd given we gave our ID. also codes were erased on car and they didnt mention that, we brought our own code reader that can erased codes and picked up 3 codes, so we decided not to get the car or return to the establishment again. Also believe they tell you people are trying to finance for the car you re looking at to make you feel rushed to purchase, when more than likely there probably isn t. Wouldn t recommend unless they really have a car you want and you have a code reader that can pick up deleted codes to check it out yourself. Pretty nice people but sketchy vibes

Recently bought a 2013 Chrysler through LAF. This was my first car purchase and Eric was an amazing help! He helped me find a nice, safe car in my price range. He went out of his way to help me get financed for the car. Loved the service that I received and I am very happy with my purchase!

Joe was a great sales person. We bought 2009 Ford Focus for our son. Was affordable and we were not pressured. For people not happy, we recommend having car inspected like we did. Higher mileage cars arent perfect.

***BUYER BEWARE***Sure wish I would have looked at these reviews before we ventured out and bought a car from this dealership. As the other reviews state, this dealer is not reputable. Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere. We purchased a car that we were told they didn't know what was wrong with it, "could be a bearing or something." The car ran great so we figured it was something that could be fixed with not too much expense. Turns out it is the transmission and it is estimated to cost $8,000. I see from the other reviews that they have a mechanic but he must not know much if he can't diagnose a bad transmission. We called within a few days to try to get our money back and were promptly told "No." So if you think you're getting a deal, think again! You're getting a piece of junk!

Worst experience I've ever in my life had with a car dealership. My husband and I bought a 2013 Impala. Everything seemed okay until the next day when the check engine light came on. My husband took it to auto zone and had it scanned. It came back transmission related so we went back up to LAF and they wouldn't even talk to him about it. They said "you have a warranty, sorry!" So my husband took it to A and J transmission and they checked it out and filed a claim with the warranty company. The warranty company denied the claim and said that right before we bought the car, someone filed a claim for the same reason on our car... but the problem was never fixed and the code had been cleared from the computer, which is against the law. I went back up there OBVIOUSLY upset and Joe refused to help me because I was being loud, refused to even try to help. Denny actually came inside and got some information from me an at least offered to look into it. Come Monday if they can't resolve this issue, I will be making a complaint with BBB and speaking with an attorney... don't go here. Leon is crooked and his lil buddy Joe is just as bad. God bless Denny tho, we have no bad things to say about himI posted the above review on google about a month ago. I called the warranty company myself and making Leon aware that I knew the truth, he agreed to cover half of the repair fees and his warranty rep agreed to make a "good faith" payment to cover the other half. A day later he called my husband to tell him he wishes he never gave him the check after reading my review and asked him to tell me to take it down. My husband was afraid Leon would call his warranty rep and revoke his good faith payment and stop the check he gave my husband to cover the rest of the repair costs... so i took it down... the cars fixed after going through all that headache... if Leons intent was to make it right and he didnt want any hard feelings or trouble, he would have not given us trouble in the first place...seems guilty to me

Sold me a 2001 Honda Accord a few weeks ago, that had a rotted rear subframe. I'm not mechanically inclined, but I thought it was a strut and the man agreed it very well may be, after coming with me for a test drive. He told me the brakes sounded bad, and that it might just be a strut also, so I asked to lower the price from 2900 to 2200. I should've been more cautious, since he stated his boss was a dishonest man, who just wants to sell what he can. But I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt still. So I get done with the test drive, and I go and speak with the boss about the strut and he also assured me it was only a strut, and I told him about the brakes and said I'd like it for a cheaper price. I'm thinking it would be a fair deal, since the brakes needed fixing, as well as the strut and other minor cosmetics. Wasn't a big deal to me, Hondas are pretty cheap to fix. Well, after bringing it home and taking it to get looked at by my mechanic, thinking it was only a strut and some brakes and side mirrors that needed repairing, it became a $1,100 fix all together, to fix the rotted subframe, struts, brakes and to get an alignment after the work is done. They played me. Considering I just purchased this vehicle for 2270. Trusted the wrong people. Wouldn't recommend these folks to anyone. This is a very unprofessional place of business. I wish I had read these reviews before my purchase too. Would've saved me a headache.

Stopped in to look at a 2006 Saturn listed on Marketplace. (Mid-November 2020) Told them it was for our Grandson. Ran fine during test drive, negotiated and requested tires be rotated before pick up 2 days later which WAS agreed by Todd. Went to pick up car and tires did not get done. Mechanic was now on vacation. During our wait someone stopped and yelled warning us of issues with a car he had purchased there. Since papers had already been signed, we took it and left. A few days later it started sputtering. Then within 2 weeks later, it quit running altogether. Stopped in and spoke with Todd. He suggested the cadilatic converter. We expressed our disappointment that it quit already (3 weeks after purchase) and requested that LAF help with repair cost. Said he would speak to owner. Called a week later, just before Christmas again requesting help, even $100 towards $480 bill. Again Todd said he would check into it and to get back with him after Christmas. Sent a copy of the repair invoice to Todd 2nd week of January. He responded with he would check into it and we have not heard back at all for any resolution.

Horrible, need to learn how to do business. Owner obviously doesn't wanna sell cars, no oil in the car, seats wouldn't fold up had to use a wrench at the dealership, Car speakers weren't even hooked up. Didn't wanna come down on the price on a car I'd have to work on myself, so he lost a sale much like I assume he losses most of them from his terrible business practices.

Very bad experience the salesman was not willing to answer the questions and he gave me wrong answers. When I corrected him. He got angry and made fun of where I am from. Then he told me people like you. We ask them to hit the road. I told him OK if you want me to hit the road I will hit the road then I just left.

Terrible dealership! Please do not waste your time and money coming here. I ve heard they had to change their name due to how many poor reviews they were receiving ! They sell cars with no warranties because they KNOW that they are selling a car with nothing but problems.
