My wife and I recently moved to East Lansing and were looking for a reliable mechanic. I chose Badgley's due to the positive Google reviews and I would like to add mine here. I took my car in for a leaky gas line and another issue causing a check engine light. They were able to take care of all issues for a fair price. We also had a candid discussion about the age of the car and what is reasonable for maintenance. Essentially, what's the tipping point when it become no longer fiscally responsible to keep putting money into the car. I appreciate the honesty and have since taken my wife's car for service there. Highly recommend.

Typically, I have had neutral or bad experiences with mechanics. Badgley's was the first time I was happy after service. Although it might be slightly more money than a normal shop, it's worth it. My car was fixed properly and the work was done super fast. Communication was clear about everything.

I recently took my car into Bagley's garage with an expensive problem that I was going to need to go through a warranty company for.Anybody who's ever dealt with one of those third party warranty companies knows exactly what a pain it is.Calvin at badgley's took point on this. His knowledge of engines and diagnosis is probably the best I've ever seen. He's also great at breaking things down into layman's terms. He dealt with the warranty company, and save me a lot of pain or hassle. He answered every question I had along the way. No matter what happened the staff at badgley's was supportive and in the end they definitely did me a solid.

Took my car to Badgley s Garage (1st mistake). Initial story I got was that I had 1 cylinder misfiring and that it was likely a bad spark plug and coil. They recommended all new spark plugs and one new coil. So I authorized the repair. After the $810 repair, they told me that mysteriously only half the pistons were firing now. Story then was that there was sludge in the engine. They recommended putting in an additive with the oil and having me drive it for 1000 miles. Then bring it back for an engine flush. I trusted them so I said let's do it (2nd mistake). After picking up my jeep with nearly half the power I dropped it off with, I called them and said I didn't feel comfortable driving the car with such little power. They reassured me that I needed to drive it for 1000 miles. Next day the car overheated and left me stranded on the side of the road. Had it towed back to Badgley's (3rd mistake) only to be charged another $110 and my V8 hemi was still a V4. When I picked it up the second time, they told me the car would "likely have to go to the dealer". It became clear to me that at no point did they have any idea what was going on with the car and yet felt comfortable charging me $920 in unnecessary repairs. I gave them every opportunity, listened to all of their instructions and what did I get in return? $910 more in student debt and half an engine. 0 stars.

I took my 2015 Chevy Equinox in for brakes and 90,000 maintenance. They did a great job as always. Have done business with them since early 70's when their dad and mom ran the shop. They even do my yearly oil change on my slingshot in the pictures. I was mechanic back in the day. I can tell you these guys know how to wrench! Their prices are below what dealers charge. They did a complete update to our News Truck which has 100,000 miles on it: brakes, tune-up, all fluids flushed and topped off.

Badgley's always takes great care of my car! For years I thought this place was only for fancy vehicles. But they do top notch work on my 2012 Sonic. Thanks for another great job!

Great, great guys that work here. They ve fixed a botched repair done by another mechanic on my car, and on another occasion, even though they weren t able to take my car in, one man took the time to come up with a few possible causes and a temporary fix for my issue. I ll absolutely continue to go to them in the future.

I have used Badgley's Garage for jobs as small as check engine light to a large repair. When I need repairs it is a good feeling to know a garage that is honest and I can trust them. The Baggley's are excellent mechanics that knows cars inside and out. Simply the best. They have never treated me differently as a woman and are always respectful and kind. They are super patient as I describe the odd little noises my car makes. This is an affordable family owned shop who has done right by us for years. They are honest and don't try to nickel and dime you. They don't cheap out on parts and are always willing to take the time to explain the issues. They want your car to run it's best and not just hobble on by.I highly recommend them for a look-over when buying a used vehicle. It is well work the small fee to avoid $$$$ in repairs.

My car started to smoke and overheat...I called them 30 mins before close..they were able to get me in. By 9am the next morning they had diagnosed my car and had a quote. By 2pm it was finished and ready to go. Price was reasonable...considering fast next day service and after hour drop off. Very straight to the grind and honest about the work. Looking forward to making them my mechanic while in the Lansing area.

I took my car to Badgley's because it was experiencing electrical problems. They diagnosed it needing a new computer but they did not have the equipment that my car required to install it. They referred me to another quality mechanic who did and did not charge me for the time because they weren't able to help. I am extremely impressed by the professionalism and honesty shown by Badgley's. I can't speak to the quality of repairs since they weren't able to do them, but I can tell you that you will be treated fairly if you go there which is half the battle when trying to find a good mechanic.Service: Electrical

I don't know how good they are at fixing American cars, but they certainly don't have much experience with Japanese cars. They always gave me the excuse of how unique my car's system was. They charged me $120 for the test and they didn't find anything wrong. They wanted to charge me more money and I turned them down. Maybe based on the good reviews, they are very good at American cars. But don't bring foreign cars there. They may charge you for an inspection and not know what went wrong. You should give up the second time they ask you for money.

My Ford Explorer was having serious issues while I was moving my son into MSU. I had an 11 hour trip home ahead of me and needed a fix fast. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a few hours. All for a very reasonable price. It ran great on the home and I will forever be grateful for their help in such a timely and efficient manner. Highly recommend!Service: Engine repair

I took my car in after my check engine light came on coding for radiator and coolant problems. Turns out when I took my car to Valvoline off Grand River they leaned on my radiator and cracked it. Valvoline told me that I might smell something sweet but that s just the oil burning off (red flag should have gone off right there), but it turns out that the pressure in my radiator was building and I was smelling coolant. Calvin and Alec at Badgeley s we re able to diagnose the problem and replace the radiator in a day. Great service, they stayed open a few minutes late to fit me in for a quick repair and get me on my way. You can tell that they care about the customer and know what they re doing. I found Badgley's through a Google search and they had good reviews so I thought I'd try them. Well, their 5 stars and other high reviews are well deserved. I've since had my vehicles in for 3 different major repairs and have always been treated with respect and most importantly -- with honesty!!!!! This is a family owned garage and the owners grew up working on cars. They know what they're talking about and can be trusted 100%. I totally recommend calling them.Services: Exhaust, Oil change

Calvin and Alec were fast, honest, and even kind! I had a disastrous encounter with a mobile mechanic who left me in the lurch, and these guys were very straightforward about what would need to be done to finish the job, then went ahead and did it ALL in just a day, and for less than originally estimated. Would recommend without reservation - real upstanding people who know their stuff!

I see why they are successful. My daughter's car had ignition issues. She's at MSU I'm back home. They really could have bent me over a barrel but DID NOT! They found the issue and fixed it with no parts and 1 hour labor. I was expecting to pay much more and would have without question. Badgley's Garage is a trustworthy, genuine, and friendly place to take your car. We recently have had car trouble and had the car towed to them. Not only did they get it running for us very quickly, but there was no cost. They're kind and generous, answering questions and making sure you understand what's happening with the vehicle so there's open communication. I prefer their garage over any place I've ever taken a vehicle.

I've been a Badgleys Family Garage customer for 45 years and during that time they have serviced 10 different cars for me and my family. The total number of service appointments over 45 years numbers in the hundreds. Every single service job was professionally performed: quality work, careful attention to my requests, reasonable cost, knowledgeable and competent mechanics who diagnose problems and provide solutions in a timely manner, honest and trustworthy folks.

We have taken all of our cars to Badgley's Garage for over thirty five years, new ones and used ones. We have had such exceptional service, integrity, and ethics that we never needed to look elsewhere. Keeping our family safe, while respecting our budget, sometimes resulted in me being gently lectured about being safe. As a result of many interactions over the years, I simply have learned to trust them and have never, ever regretted that trust. Calvin and Trevor are genius level mechanical engineers with respect to cars who have the additional virtue of being persistent in fixing things that nobody else can, hence the referrals they get from other shops and dealers. This is what world class looks like. Don't be put off by the 1950's building, there is genius inside!

This place is by far one of the BEST places I have ever been to get my car fixed. A belt in my car broke the night before and Badgley's was able to fix it all in one day for a really great price. The people are always super nice and pleasant to talk to. I have never had a bad experience going here. 11/10 would recommend this place to anyone who needs a car mechanic!!

I was in a bind with my daughter's car who is going to MSU with a brake issue. They were able to get the car in the same morning which I really appreciated. The diagnosis was a brakes were needed on all 4 tires which I can understand. He quoted me a price that I felt was ridiculously high but I wasn't in a position to really complain and ask for a better price as my car was torn apart and new brakes were needed. I told them I'd like to use the cheapest parts as possible as the really isn't worth all that much and I would be selling it soon. He said he wouldn't come down to less expensive parts because his reputation was at stake.... Really???!!!! What about customer service!! I ended spending not too much less than what the car's worth because was in a bind and needed the service. It really felt like I was taken advantage of.... but never again!

My dad always told me to go to Badgley's. The best in car repair for a fair price. And always an honest repair. No games. So, guess where I just took my car..Badgley's.
