I am a first time customer and I dropped car off and received same day service. Overall, very impressed! Not only were my concerns addressed, but you could tell they looked at the vehicle in its entirety. Costs and options were effectively communicated and services promptly performed - despite it being "Thanksgiving Eve". Compared to mechanics I've had in the past, services are also relatively affordable. Brian was personable and kind. Will be a returning customer, happy to find a trustworthy mechanic as someone who is new to the area.

1/3/23 I couldn't have asked for a more honest, timely, caring, fair priced business then these guys. Daughter's car broke down and we live out of town, looked up reviews in the area and stumbled upon B's Randall Auto Service. My daughter's ford focus was fixed in less than 24 hours and with the student discount they applied came in almost $50 less than the already fair quote. I would recommend these guys to anyone especially to parents who have students living in the East Lansing area. I might even make the 45 min drive to have them fix my own vehicle in the future. This personal self-owned business is the type that is hard to find these days. Many thanks for helping my daughter in the process.Darrell Plummer

Amazing service! My daughter goes to school at MSU and me not being near her to help with her car issues is a challenge. We took the car there, fast, great service! Highly recommended

The mechanics at B's Randall were very helpful, honest and went out of their way to explain to me the issues with my car. They are fairly priced and work fast. I highly recommend this business.

I took my 2011 Ford Escape to Randall's because of the good reviews. I was not disappointed. My vehicle was running terrible after my catalytic converter was stolen and then replaced. Dropped off on Thursday and it was done on Friday. Thought I was going have to pay like $180. When I got there he said it would be $63. I said, in shock, What . I gave him $65 and he gave me the $5 back! Not only that, but when I got in the car and I was driving I realized that they had detailed (cleaned) the interior of my car!! They, definitely, went above and beyond what they needed to do. It made me realize that there are, actually, honest and good people and businesses in this city. I recommend anyone that needs car repairs to go to B Randall's on Kalamazoo St in Lansing. You will not regret it. I'm telling all my family how great they are. It made my day.

I have been going to B's Randall for years and continue to recommend them as the best mechanic service in the area. They are professional, personable and ensure that they get the job done correctly. If they cannot do it, they will suggest elsewhere. Brian and Tom have consistently provided quality serve at a fair price. Great work!

I took my car in for a quote and they were so helpful and realistic with what could be done with my old junker of a car. I really appreciate the honesty and the quote!

Had them change out a part that bigger commercial places wouldn't do for me unless they replaced the rest of the suspension components too. I'm in school and was quoted prices such as $3,000. I bought all the components for around $200 necessary for the job, but didn't have the ability to do one part. The guys were nice here. They even offer discounts for students.Hard to find honest mechanics these days. Worth it.

My old mechanic retired, so I've been on the hunt for a replacement. Several old friends recommended this shop, so I dropped my car off late Sunday night, and put the keys in the slot. Brian called Monday to let me know I needed a new water pump and exhaust. The exhaust would be an issue, because my car's not being made any more. But, he went the extra mile and hunted that part down. "Screaming Mimi" hit the road again the following day! Thanks so much, Brian. I'll be back, because you, my man, are my new friggin' mechanic!Service: Exhaust

I heard a metallic rattling noise coming from the engine a couple days ago. I saw that B s Randall had good reviews, and I m happy to say that they turned out to be true. The rear catalytic converter was the issue, but it was much more expensive than I could afford to fix on a student budget. The mechanic offered to tighten the protective shields and sure up anything else, while also repairing a broken sway bar for a great price. While not a fix, B s Randall was able to help postpone the repair until I have the money to fix it properly. Which obviously will be done by them for their honesty, good prices, and understanding how to help someone on a budget.

Update 11/20/21:I brought my car here after a big name tire place found problems with my car when I took it in for a screw in the tire. They were condescending to me. B's Randall fixed my car, treated me like a grownup, and saved me about $300 over the quote I was given at the tire place. Definitely bring your car here for repairs. Honest and friendly.Update 1/14/2020:I still like visiting here especially if my car had bigger problems. Unless you are able to leave your vehicle here for the day I wouldn't necessarily come here for regular maintenance things including oil changes. They don't have enough staff. I had a problem with my car starting rough. I suspected and hoped it was the battery. They wanted me to leave my car for them to check it out. I understand they are busy with a small operation, but it's tough for me to go without my car unless necessary. I took it to a parts store and they checked it and within a couple of minutes it was determined to be a problem with the battery. It was replaced and I was soon on my way. Brian and Tom are awesome, and I trust them. I'd be willing to visit if I have a bigger issue with my car.... hopefully in a long time from now (pretty please, car).7 years ago:This place is the only shop I trust with my car. They are honest, and saved me money over other places. They even suggested that I should get a new car. What mechanic would do that!?! Now they are helping me keep my car going when I told them I didn't want a car payment. Both Brian and Tom are great guys and very friendly. They've gone out of their way to help me. Now I won't go anywhere else. You can trust them. Thank you, Brian and Tom!

I've used their services twice now and I have had a great experience both times. The first time was for the power steering on my Dodge Avenger. Not only was the service fast and high quality, but the final price came out to be lower than the estimate! My second visit was for the brakes on my Ford Focus. They got me in and fixed everything within the same day and again the price was lower that I expected and the work was great too. I can't recommend this place highly enough! Fast, friendly service, and great prices.

I was in urgent need of a mechanic due to a fuel line leak in my 2008 Pontiac G5. Being a bit newer to the Lansing area, I found B's Randall Auto Service on Google. I made the decision to go there due to so many positive reviews. I'm happy to share that I was not disappointed.I immediately felt at ease leaving my car in Brian's hands. He took the time to actually explain what was happening with my car, and didn't just take the keys and send me on my way. He also allowed me to ask many questions about the current state of my vehicle, and made excellent recommendations about what I should consider getting fixed next - if I chose to do so.I also had a "shaking-while-braking" car that was misdiagnosed twice by other mechanics. He was able to find the cause of this issue (messed up rotor), and fixed this for me as well.I really appreciated Brian's professionalism, customer service, and overall kindness. B's Randall will definitely be my new go-to mechanic moving forward. Thanks so much, Brian for making my old car feel safe and reliable again! :-)Service: General repairs & maintenance

I'm not originally from Lansing, so when my brakes started grinding, I didn't know where I could go to get fair and good value service around MSU. But I'm happy I went with B's Randall because they got it in and out very quickly and were friendly and professional with me! Price was very reasonable for the service as well, and the student discount is also greatly appreciated! Thank you for the service!Service: Brakes

If you want quick and quality service for an excellent price, B's Randall Auto Service is the place to go! Brian and Tom are repairmen with integrity. You can trust them. They were very friendly and easy to talk with. They were upfront in explaining the condition of my car but in no way pushed me into any decision. They were not condescending at all. And, the 10% student discount was a nice added bonus! Easily five star service. Thank you B's Randall.

During my time at MSU, I took my 22 yr old Nissan to a couple places. B's is hands down the best. Their prices are great, they're fast, and they never try to sell you on stuff you don't need. One time they even sent me to a different shop because they weren't confident they could diagnose my problem and didn't want me to waste my time. I recommend B's to everyone. They don't screw around.

The most honest and fair priced place I have ever been. Had a previous horrible experience at a chain so decided to try this place out. He got me in right away and fixed the issue very fast. He showed me the parts and explained what he fixed which no other shop has ever done for me. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Great service and great people.

Honest, efficient, and friendly service. If you are not getting your non warranty auto repair there you are making a huge mistake. The prices are fair, let's recognize auto repair costs money, but they go the extra distance to help us make good choices. My only reluctance in praising them, is that it may be harder to get my cars in for maintenance. Just a great place.

I went in on a Tuesday because my car was making an odd noise. To preface this, I know very little about cars, and unless the check engine light/ oil light is on, then I'll be completely lost. I went in and talked with Brian, and he said he would take a look. My car was at the shop for 2 days and I got a call from Brian saying that my car was out of oil and he was checking to make sure it was okay that he put oil in. I gave him permission to do what needed to be done to fix my car. My car was good to go about an hour after he called. The total for the oil change was $32 (I drive a 2010 Honda Accord). What a great price! I usually pay $50-$60. Brian also wrote detailed instructions on what he did and what I should look out for in the future. I know that many mechanics can take advantage of my lack of knowledge, so I was thankful that Brian did such a good job and was transparent about the process. Would go again if I had car trouble.

My son is a student in Lansing and the coolant on his 2013 Escape was leaking. Took the car to B's and Brian was awesome. The work was done on time and we were kept on the loop of what was going on. Pricing was very reasonable as well. Will go back here in a heartbeat if any work is ever needed. Thanks for taking care of us!

The hardest kind of car repair is when the car runs fine most of the time, then without warning won't start and leave you stranded. Wait an hour, turn the key, and it starts right up and runs fine. It takes a sharp mechanic with years of experience to track down that kind of electrical problem and fix it. That was the story with my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. Turned out to be a pinched wire ! I am highly impressed with the mechanics at B's. They were a good team. They fixed a difficult problem, and the bill was quite reasonable. To anyone looking for a couple good mechanics with a lot of experience, I recommend this place !

I don't think I've ever been to a garage with such friendly service.Brian is a straight shooter and a pleasure to deal with----I will be using this shop for my automotive needs moving forward. Had to get a ball joint and exhaust system replaced. Some of the really brand-specific stuff (I have a turbo Subaru, which can be a PITA to work on) he recommended going to a more specialized shop for, but he's getting 5 stars for being incredibly up front and honest about it.Highly recommended!

You will not find a more reliable and awesome mechanic then here. Every experience I've had here has been excellent! Amazing customer service, exceptional quality of work, and fair prices. This is my favorite repair shop in the Lansing area.

I'll definitely be going here for any future car repairs. The two owners, Tom and Brian, are down-to-earth, honest guys who won't try to rip you off. Midas wanted to charge me about $230 minimum for a ball joint repair on one side, and then tried to tell me I needed other stuff done as well. B's Randall told me exactly what I needed done, and charged me a very reasonable price to do it. They were also very quick and I was able to pick up my truck 2 hours within taking it in. I recommend them for sure!P.S. If you have a Chevy s10, go here. Tom knows them inside out.

I highly recommend B's Auto. They were able to get me in right away after my check engine light had come on. Brian, the owner, checked it out and found the cause of the issue right away. He clearly explained the issue and patiently answered all of my questions. He was honest and sincere and let me know that he didn't think it was really necessary to replace the sensor that was causing the light. He made a recommendation but did not push me to do anything right then and there. I had a great experience and will be coming back in the future!

If you are looking for auto repair from people you can trust... this is the place to go! These guys do great work... and ONLY the work that needs to be done. No pressure, no price gouging, just good honest work and recommendations for repair you can count on. Fast, convenient, and affordable! On more than one occasion, I've dropped my car off in the morning, with no appointment and they manage to squeeze me in and get my car serviced the same day!
