Bill and his crew at Auto Surgeon are exactly what you want in a mechanic. I've taken my cars to Bill for years. I initially went to him for a second opinion on a little Saturn Hatchback that I loved. The first mechanic told me it would require a couple thousand dollars in repairs. Bill agreed with this assessment (at a lower cost) but recommended that I trade it in and get something different that would be more reliable. It took a little convincing to get me to understand this was the right choice and he could have easily taken my business and my money and done the repairs. Ever since I've trusted Bill to tell me the truth about my vehicles and to charge me a fair price. He's gone out of his way in talking through things with/educating me has always done great work. He's a great business owner and his team is thoughtful and thorough!

I do not take my vehicles anywhere else. Bill and his staff do a thorough assessment of the vehicles. I never worry about being taken advantage of with the work that needs to be done. Bill goes over pricing and options before any work is done. They are not afraid to refer elsewhere if they can t do the job. Safety and integrity matter to them. I have even called and gotten Bill s advice before purchasing a new vehicle. I always drive away knowing my family and I are traveling safely. Thank you!

We've been taking our fleet vehicles, and personal vehicles, to Bill for over a decade now. You won't find a more honest, knowledgeable, and professional repair place in Lansing. His pricing is fair, his service is transparent, and if he doesn't specialize in a repair you need, he knows an honest guy who does. One time he diagnosed that we needed air conditioner condenser replacement in one of our trucks, and he booked the appointment and delivered our truck to the air conditioner guy, who did a fantastic job at a great price. Bill is keeping all of our older vehicles reliable and on the road longer, which is saving us a ton over time in car payments and insurance. We recommend Auto Surgeon to all our clients, freelancers, and family members. Bill's the best.

Bill was wonderful! I added on a battery change to my preexisting appointment with no trouble and he got my car in and out within the same day! Explained everything to me very well and I got a voucher for a free oil change at the end of it all! Very reasonable prices and great service - highly HIGHLY recommend to any single lady looking for good info and good prices

It s been a few years since I ve taken my vehicle to Bill because I now have a company car with its own maintenance program, but I wouldn t recommend anyone or anywhere else in the Lansing area to take your car to. Bill was always professional, friendly, and honest to me. Never condescending and doesn t take advantage. He once let me leave with my repaired car without paying in full because he knew I was going on vacation the next day and didn t want me to worry about money, so he let me come back in to pay it off when I returned & got my next paycheck. Stand up guy. Great oil change program. Happy holidays Bill!

One of the best mechanic shops that I know. They are honest and have great prices. My cars air conditioner went out and I went to three different mechanics before I found Auto Surgeon. He found the problem and told me that he could take my money to fix it but my car was old and so he didn t feel right about doing the job since it was more than what the car was worth. I really appreciated it since he didn t just fill it with coolant and say everything is fine and charge me $200 for the pleasure.

I ve used Auto Surgeon for my oil changes and car repairs for years and am so grateful I found them! Easy to schedule with, respectful , HONEST, and friendly. I have called Bill (yes you learn their names) to ask him questions about my car and get second opinions if I m out of town and he always takes the time to give an honest answer (vs the one that makes him money ) and explain why . I recommend them often to friends in the area .

Great place! My car was dead and I didn t know why or what to do. As a young and single female with zero expertise on cars- I was nervous on who to call or getting overpriced and taken advantage of my naivety. I called here based on reviews and it was the best decision! The owner was so kind on the phone and gave me tips on troubleshooting. He didn t immediately dismiss me or make me try to bring it in so he could charge me, he genuinely had some ideas to help over the phone. When it did come to needing to bring it in, he helped with identifying a tow service, gave me step by step instructions, and peace of mind. My car was fixed in only a few short days and the price (which I ran by my friends and family) was MORE than fair. In fact, it was far less than they expected it would have been. If you are new to the area and wondering where to go- this place is it.

I've taken my vehicles to Auto Surgeon for as long as I've lived in Lansing -that translates to a LOT of visits for repairs and maintenance with Bill and his crew. Without a doubt, they provide the finest overall auto service experience I've come across in over 60 years of driving. Uncommonly honest, dependable, reasonable... they just can't be beat. Period.

As a car person I used to work on my own car. Now that I have gotten older, and due to health issues, I need help getting my cars and truck in tip top shape. I am very picky about my vehicles and found that the Auto Surgeon fits me fine. The repair costs are very fair and the work is very well done as if I did it myself! I found Bill and the Auto Surgeon team via some friends that spoke very highly of him. I know a good repair shop is hard to find these days, and great customer service even more so. Bill and his team are nothing short of amazing. The communication as they worked on my car, prepared options for me to evaluate, (I like to save money, but also like to know what would be the consequences of doing "a little now vs. a LOT later, etc.)" and also getting my car completed in the timeframe they quoted me were nothing short of perfect. Thank you Bill and team, I am glad I found you and you have a new customer for life!

Started going to Bill at auto surgeons based on a recommendation from a coworker. At this point I ve been going to him for years (and for three different vehicles!).Things like regular maintenance (oil change, tire rotation, etc) as well as having things looked over to get a second opinion (e.g. is it really going to be $200 to get the muffler tightened up, or am I being bamboozled by the dealership) have been my common interactions.The price has been good, the service solid, and the communication honest and straight forward. I would 100% recommend you stop by if you need anything done on your vehicle.

He has always been very straightforward and honest with me, plus he takes time to educate the customer on what exactly is going on with your vehicle. I have been taking my vehicles (both personal and work) to The Auto Surgeon for more than a decade. Bill and his entire staff are kind and compassionate. They fix the problem, they care about everyone who walks thru the door. This is the most respectable, honest mechanic in the Lansing area. Anyone who try s to tell you differently has never been there or is lying. If your vehicle needs repair, give it five minutes of talking to Bill and you will know you re in the right place. Cannot recommend Auto Surgeon enough!

Auto Surgeon and especially Bill are nothing short of great. I have been going here for years for any of my cars needs such as, oil changes, tire rotations, coolant replacement, a windshield wiper motor repair and so much more. As a young women who knows nothing about cars, Bill always educates me on what exactly is happening with my car and keeps an eye out for anything that has changed. Highly recommended!!

The very few negative reviews I have read must not be for this business, Auto Surgeon. Because I have only been treated impeccably by the staff & the owner Bill since I began taking my vehicles to Auto Surgeon. It all began one spring morning ..... kidding. For real though, I was involved in an accident which then left me a little disabled over 20 years ago & I needed my car (different car) fixed. So I took it to Auto Surgeon & from that moment on(20+ years ago), I have been treated with only respect, dignity, compassion, honesty, & integrity. This was the only vehicle I had & no way of getting home as it was going to take most of the day to fix. So I figured I would wait it out. The owner Bill noticed because he's a very detailed oriented person, & he had one of his staff members take me home. I was extremely impressed with his level of compassion that since I have never used another repair shop. Anyone who complains about Auto Surgeon must have had a bad day or got the name of the business wrong that made them upset because I have seen nothing but impeccable leadership & service work being done at Auto Surgeon. I would highly recommend ANYONE with car issues to contact them first, you won't regret it. Just be mindful that although they would love to fix everyone's car that same day, that same minute, they can get busy which is a testament to their level of workmanship & Customer service, & they will get to your vehicle in a timely manner. Their work is impeccable & impressive. Treat others as you'd like to be treated, with compassion, dignity & respect & you'll receive the same, Bill is a good person. I started bringing my car in to the Auto Surgeon about 20 years ago, and I won't go anywhere else. Bill and his team do great work at a fair price. And they are extremely trustworthy, only repairing what needs to be done while keeping an eye on things that may need some attention later on. Over the years, I've walked, ridden the bus, and biked to this repair shop. I would snowshoe if I had to. My biggest concern is that Bill will retire before I stop driving.

I've been taking my cars to Bill for over 20 years! He has always treated me and my vehicles wonderfully. As a young woman in a larger City I was always worried I would be taken advantage of by Auto mechanics.Bill and his staff always took the time to explain things to me, never pressured me to do unneeded repairs, and made me feel safe. I highly recommend this place to any young people looking for a place they can trust.

Best mechanic in town, trustworthy and honest. I will not take my vehicles anywhere else. Bill has always gone above and beyond for his customers, myself included.It pains me to see the fake comments trying to tear down someone who treats people fairly, charges reasonable prices, and provides meaningful service to our community. I used to be a Student at MSU & would take my car here whenever I was having issues. Bill & his team are efficient, honest and upfront about any issues your car may have! They are reasonably priced & will be honest with you about what your car needs. I always recommend my friends still in the area to take their car here!

I have been taking my 2011 Honda Pilot to Bill for several years now, and I could not be more pleased with the service he and his team have provided. Bill is direct, compassionate, and trustworthy. As this car is aging he is always discussing problems that are safety issues vs. cosmetic issues. We really appreciate this!We were referred to Bill from our sister in law who was referred by her boss (who has been a long time customer) and I frequently refer him to people!There is really nothing like feeling like you can trust your auto mechanic :)

My husband and I have been customers of Bill and Auto Surgeon Inc for 15+ years. They have always shown integrity and knowledge in making repairs to our vehicles over that time period. BIll kept my husband's 91 Plymouth Acclaim running for much, much longer than we expected! We cannot recommend this mechanic enough.

A family member referred me to the Auto Surgeon. I am so glad that they did. What impressed me most is that Bill told me what had to be fixed and what was optional. He knew funds were tight and worked with me to make sure that we had the vehicle road ready without trying to upsell me on a bunch of extra fluff. Repairs were done quickly, and the customer service was always top-notch even though I m not mechanic Bill explained things in a way that I could understand. Five stars all the way around.

Auto Surgeon is a very high-quality small business auto repair shop in mid-Michigan. Very knowledgeable owner and team of repair professionals who can diagnose problems and repair them at reasonable cost. Great service at reasonable costs. Highly recommend.
