I can only give a one star because they don t give the option of a negative five . Bought a 98 Jeep Wrangler, all seemed to check out. No leaks drips etc. yes old car gonna have issues. Didn t have 24hrs thought trans dumped out, turns out the rear differential blew out. Didn t see the new drive shafts with the labels still attached or would have been a red flag to me. When I called and discussed with Tom he immediately said you must ve been talking to the other Tom, and he could call me back with the number of his transmission guy never did. So a $7000 vehicle cost me an additional $3850 to fix out the gate. All I can say is buyer beware ! Couldn t bring it back obviously and there is no lemon law here. Personally will never buy here again. Good Luck! As far as a reply from the dealer your Sorry to here that well you know where to park it.

We bought 2 cars here. Very pleased with both Vehicles, no issues with either. Prices were reasonable. Very professional and pleasant salesmen. Felt right at home, no high pressure tactics here. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good used vehicle.

Bought my newest car from Lakeside Motors and despite me shopping on an observed holiday Tom was incredibly on top of things and so very helpful! We took care of everything the very next day and within minutes I had my new car. I definitely recommend stopping in if you are in need of a new vehicle!

Great Dealership! I bought a used truck here last week and the experience was awesome! Drove 3 hours to pick it up and everything was ready to go when I arrived. Painless and haggle free. Very upfront about everything and and super friendly.

Our title was giving us some issues but they worked with us, great and friendly staff. Definitely would buy another car here

This is a 5 star business. Tom and team helped my son find a car he could afford and I was shocked by how clean this 2003 Chevy Malibu was. They only bring in reliable vehicles and this one was owned as stated on the title by St Patrick's Cathedral church. Not only did Tom not make me haggle on price, he gave my son a ride and treated him like family. My son is 19 and this is how I pray every young man and woman get treated when all they need is a vehicle to help them get back and forth to work. Thank you Tom and Team, I will refer all my peeps to see you. You actually care and go out of your way. You made my son's day today!

Tried to sell me a 4-wheel drive vehicle last year , beautiful KIA, that was totally rusted out underneath, major rot holes and suspension bar broken, a total DEATH TRAP! When I brought it back to them after I took it to my mechanic, (I had it all financed, etc.), the mgr asked me why I didn't want it. The next day it was out on the lot for sale again. I reported it to the downstate auto dealership owner and then to the State. I didn't see it out there again, not sayin that they would not sell it to someone else. Not trustworthy and tried to sell me a vehicle that would have killed me. Do NOT trust these people!

Nice local used car sales. We have bought several vehicles from them. Carl is the best and will work with you. I would recommend him. Tom is okay but a little pushy.

I have nothing but praise.Spied this on Sun..Called on MonGave all my info over phone on myself and my credit union contact Jenn in Harrison.On Friday I came in after work..it was ready to go. Drove it, love it, bought it.Thanks- Tom & Luann

purchased a truck from thomas johnstone internet sales manager. the truck has more miles then he told me. after running a car fax and finding out it has 177.112 miles rather then 137,000 which he told me the truck had. when i called him to confront him about this issue he admitted to changing the cluster. then proceeded to laugh in my ear telling me i can do nothing about it do to the fact the vehicle is over ten years old. also told me the 4x4 was in working order. come to find out it doesn't even work. there was also a soiled pair of underwear under the passenger seat. please do your research people before buying a vehicle here do not get scammed and lied to like i was. watch for his ads on craigslist posted here in houghton lake.

Owner is a liar and a thief. Sold me a truck that has wrong miles according to the carfax. Owner told me truck had 1 owner and low miles 1 day after purchase truck had problems. Truck has had half a dozen owners and the owner of Lakeside Motors (Thomas Johnstone) replaced the instrument panel with something that had lower miles on it. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THOMAS JOHNSTONE you will get ripped off! When we called him to confront him he literally laughed in our ears and said oh well.

The car I got, has been in the shop every month and has left me stranded more than once and I have put more money into it then it cost or was worth. The transmission has went now and have to get another car. Will not buy another from here. The repair shop always have cars in from this dealer. He should be reported.

We went in with 500 to put a down payment for a car and they wouldn t even work with us. I wouldn t go through them even if I was buying my first car.

Looked around today and almost bought a car. Come to find out they Lied about amount of owners car had. Wouldn t send title to bank due to privacy issues just very shady practices. Don t recommend.
