This is a very basic campground. No frills. Although it does have a small clubhouse, I don't see any functions posted on the bulletin board. It's very quiet during the day. Everybody seems to be off somewhere working. I thought it a bit unusual there were so many teenagers staying there. Apparently with parents or grandparents. The host, Janine, is absolutely wonderful She wants to hear all about your travels, where you're from, and what you're doing, So pull up a chair and have a chat. The price is extremely reasonable. It's the least expensive I paid on my entire adventure. It's also the first place in Michigan I've been to that has a senior rate or a weekly rate. So if you just want a place to chill for a week or so and catch up on some RV repairs or planning your route then this is the place. There were a couple of other campers there from Florida during my short stay. Many of the campers here are seasonal workers at the new Soo Locks project. There isn't really much close by to see or do. There is a small (international) airport. Canada is less than 20 miles away. This is probably the first campground I've been at in months that you can actually walk to the grocery store. At one end of the campground is a gas station with a very large grocery store. And then at the other end is a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar, and a Dollar General. So this is the closest I've been to a gas station and a grocery store in many months. Certainly an easy walk. There's a lot of dirt trails around the campground if your kids have bicycles or you have a golf cart or a four-wheeler.The sunsets are very nice and there's no noise at night except an occasional airplane. This is also the first time I've been away from a highway and don't hear trucks all night long.I went to the Soo Locks each day in Sault ste Marie. The first day I did the museum ship and the lock tour and then the second day I went to Canada and viewed the Canadian locks from the land. The same locks I went through the day before on the tour. And I also went to the bush plane museum which is on the Canadian side.

Nice, friendly, quiet, reasonable priced campground. Most campers who stay here don't know that they are on a decommissioned US Miltary Air Force Base, Kinchelo Air Force base. I was stationed here from Sept.1969 to May 1972. If you love the outdoors, you will have plenty to explore.Have a great time camping.Dennis & Gail, Dracut, MA

I couldn t have asked for a nicer experience staying here. I was passing through for the night and stopped in to see if any spots were available; I typically car camp so I didn t need any hookups or plumbing. The Host was so accommodating and absolutely one of the kindest people I ve met in a long time! She told me I am more than welcome to stay and the prices were absolutely affordable. I met another fellow camper, Carol, who told me I could stay on her lot with her and that she also car camped herself! She gave me some brochures on the north country trail, and we shared lots of stories. Very very nice community there!! The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the lots were well maintained. Thankful for everything and everyone I encountered on my spontaneous overnight stay :) thank you!!

Decent place to stay great price for visiting the eastern part of the upper peninsula. Now the bad part. You get what you pay for. Full hookups but 30 amps but don t try to get more than 26-27 or you ll pop the breaker or burn up your plug. Most are shared pedestals for electric so most need an extension. Water quality and pressure great. The host does not enforce any rules at all. There are people plugged into two sites, there is excessive speeding by the campers in the park. If you go try to get there by 4 o clock or wait till the next morning to check in with the host. Very unprofessional way to run a park.

Well its nice place to camp, and there's a large dog park there. We were in the second row, with lots of shade trees, behind our camper. We had a picnic table at our site, fire ring too.Full hookups, $20 per night.

What a little gem! We've gone here three years in a row, self serve, 30amp, super cheap, only $350 for a month, the host is friendly and kind. We love the area, Soo, Mackinac, St Mary's River, Lake Superior, the boat locks, looking forward to next year. The weather in summer is perfect, it stays cool because of the Great Lakes.

There aren't many trees . The price is wonderful. Senior rates. Weekly rates. Close to a lot of things. Less than an hour away from Mackinac or the Soo Locks. And many other attractions

Very Quiet, lots of Toy haulers as the East is right on a trail. Many spots open and Full hook-ups at East; West is w/e near speedway. Stayed 3 nights @ East for $20 per night! Very chill "self serve" RV park, no playground, and group/community firepits but nobody burned during our stay.Only drawbacks are the town is small, but it houses an International Airport. We only heard a couple small Leer Jets take off on our last day and it's not loud at all. It's possible there was more activity but we were either gone or couldn't hear entirely. Also, the park is right next to a prison and correctional facilities. You hear some orders over their PA system and the light pollution at night disrupts some star gazing. But this not so easily found campground is centrally located a couple miles off of 75, just north the mid-point of Soo locks in Sault St. Marie, and St. Ignace/Mackinac areas. We loved it and if are ever back in the area, will definitely be back to hit more sights and small maple shops! Location is central, Price is fantastic!

Awesome place to camp. This is our 4th year. Hosts are very friendly. Township needs to keep up the mowing. The bathrooms are clean. Definitely coming back next year. Thanks

A diamond in the rough. Could be so much more. Needs upgrading to 50amp. Grass needs mowing on a regular basis. It's pretty much self-serve and do as you please. Centrally located. Great little grocery store with an awsome meat department and bakery

This is a gem in the rough. We paid $10 for the one night we stayed here with our Passport America discount. This was for full hookups. Located not far from I75, close to Sault Ste Marie and not too far away from St. Ignace to take the ferry to Mackinac Island.
