They are awesome! They fixed my brakes but the best part was their friendliness and professionalism that stood out. There was a wait for the brakes but was happy that they got me in to service my car without a reservation on a Saturday! Thank you all employees at Firestone Kalamazoo Westnedge!!

Scheduled a diagnostic because this was one of the only places open on weekends. They were able to get me in Friday morning instead (the next morning). I thought I'd have to wait even longer, so that was a happy surprise. All the parts were in stock, so I only had to wait an hour or so for a repair that took other shops two days in the past. Incredible service and a really friendly manager (Lewis). He explained everything that caused the issue and gave me some stuff to watch for in the future. I'm so pleased, and I'll definitely return the next time I need a repair.Edit: I smelled some burning oil a couple days later, so I took it back. They got me in immediately and determined it was a loose bolt from the repair. They replaced the bolt and put some Lock-Tite on it so it wouldn't happen again. Thanks, Anthony!

They do quick work, but very overpriced, both parts and labor. My recommendation: ask for an itemized quote before agreeing to their price. I was quoted for "replacing the strut mounts" and an alignment on my vehicle. I was charged $612 for a quoted 2.8hrs (1.4hrs per side), which matched the ALLDATA time I looked up when I got home. That's $218/hr labor (pre-tax). This price was just for that particular job (strut mount replacement), the alignment was separately charged as a single line item (which was also high in my opinion at $210 for the lifetime alignment, I think the non-lifetime was $170). Turns out they didn't just replace the strut mounts, but actually installed two quick strut assemblies. They charged $360 for each Monroe quick strut assembly (I haven't heard good things about Monroe quick struts) . Later found I could've gotten them delivered to my house, same day for $120 each. I get that auto shops usually charge ~x2 the price of parts, but x3 is excessive. My guess is that replacing strut mounts usually involves disassembly/reassembly of the strut assembly which would leave most of the OEM parts (e.g. compress the spring, unbolt the mount, etc.). Here they figured they can make more money by slapping in a whole new strut assembly while charging the same amount in labor as would take for the dis/reassembly and also make more money on parts because the strut mount would be cheaper than the quick strut. All-in-all they completed the work quickly and weren't too busy, but very overpriced. $1600 total for replacing two strut assemblies and alignment.

They were very honest when assessing my car and what repairs needed to be done. They showed me the problem areas and explained them thoroughly.

Was in Kalamazoo for a visit when my car decided to not start on a Sunday. We were supposed to leave the following day so was in a panic about who to contact. The only repair shops open on Sunday is Firestone so I called them. I actually called the other shop in town but had my car towed to this location. Fortunately, my car got there before they closed and I got a call from their service manager so I could explain what was going on. They worked on it first thing in the morning and did a full check on the battery, alternator and starter. Turned out my battery had a bad cell so they quickly replaced that. I was very pleased with their service.

The employees at this location are SCAMMERS! Don't be fooled by them! I took my recently purchased vehicle to them for a simple oil change and they claimed that the oil plug was stripped, that there were metal shaving around the plug, and that the vehicle needed a whole new oil pan replacement. They were going to charge me over $600to have the oil pan replaced!I called the dealership where i bought the vehicle, and they wanted to check it out to make sure it wasnt something they overlooked, and not to allow firestone to do any further work. This morning i took the car back to the dealership so they could look at it. They offered to replace any parts for free! Within minutes they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with the threads on the oil plug, there were no metal shavings, there was no leak. They said Firestone was trying to scam me!I'm glad i called my dealership!

The guys here were lovely. I went in a few weeks ago to have someone help me zip tie a canister that had a scheduled repair booked through my dealership and they took care of it no problem. They told me to keep an eye on a minor defect they spotted while handling the canister and I was there for less than half an hour. Thanks gentlemen-much appreciated!

Look I know they have a bad rep... Haven't been there in a few years. The last two visits I had I chose them because they were close and let me say management has changed and the service was great...I had my bad times but I think they turned a new leaf, and got rid of their problem employees. I will definitely go back again next time

I recently was a customer at this Firestone and received excellent customer service and very competitive pricing for the work that was done on my car. I took my car there because earlier that day I got a flat tire and damaged wheel after driving over a pot hole on the freeway, and I needed to get service done on my vehicle as soon as possible. The technician Douglas was working at that time, and he helped me most of the time that I was there. I called a different Firestone that was also on Westnedge, and they quoted me a higher price than what was quoted to me at this one (this location is at 3529 S Westnedge in Kalamazoo). My car ended up needing more extensive work done on it than what this Firestone could provide, and it was later in the evening, and they were about to close in minutes, and Douglas went above and beyond in helping me get in touch with the right people to provide me with a rental car for the rest of that day. Douglas was very accommodating to my immediate needs at that time and showed nothing but the highest courtesy and regard in diligently working to resolve my predicament. His professionalism and friendliness was a wonderful display of the expectations that I'm sure Firestone wants to see in their employees in how they interact with their customers. I'm very grateful for the service and work ethnic that was shown to me by Douglas that day and would highly recommend this Firestone to anyone who was looking for car service in that area. Thank you, Douglas!Service: Tires

They didn't even do the alignment properly in the end after taking over a week working on the car.

B. C. Firestone are a very shifty business to deal with. Many years ago I purchased a lifetime alignment . Two years ago I installed new front end parts tie rod and such . I returned a year later to get a alignment and I was told I had a l.f. bering going bad as well as l.f. tie rod end that also was bad . Cost was well over $400.00 . Both discribed parts were barely a year old . I've been waiting to take a trip to Kalamazoo to see what there diagnosis will be . Bottom line , I feel that because I have this contract , they will keep trying to railroad me . B. C. Firestone refused to do the alignment because the new parts were worn out !!! Barely a year old with less than 4,500 hundred miles driven . I guess we'll see what another opinion brings . Maybe a filed B. B. B. !

This Firestone saved my day. It was the middle of a blizzard and my boyfriend and I s only car had a flat tire. I made so many calls to different tire repair shops, and it wasn t until I called Firestone that I was finally able to hear some good news: they could look at it today. They were able to patch the tire and did it quickly and got our car back on the road safely and cheaply. Only cost us $30! I am so thankful for the employees at this Firestone location, they were there, in the first bad blizzard of 2022, doing excellent work and serving the community with grace. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!Service: Tires

Great team, great service. They never try to force you into unnecessary repairs. They tell you what needs to get fixed immediately, what you're looking at in the future and they get the job done! Definitely a good, trustworthy shop.

Ii picked up a car next door to this business and it had a flat, i drove it over to Freestone and asked the gentelman at the front desk if i could get some air in my tire he was busy waiting on a customer and asked me to pull around then i here him tell his customer that he only had one service guy on duty . i pulled around and the service guy was waiting at the door with hose in hand. He quickly filled the tire and bid me good by and have a great day. It for sure was a great day and your act of kindness didn't go unnoticed so THANK YOU to the two gentelman for taking time to help someone out just know you are appreciated. Im sorry i didnt get your names but you know who you are

I knew I needed brakes done, so I scheduled an appointment online and figured they could do my oil change too.I did drop my vehicle off an hour later than expected which wasn't an issue, but it was surprising that they didn't even contact me to see if I would still be coming in. When I did drop off my keys the two workers in the shop looked at me like I had 3 heads - they didn't even say hello they just stared! I work in customer service so I know how emotionally exhausting it can be to have a customer facing position, but I felt like a nuisance already for attempting to patronize their business...On my way home I checked my email - $123 was the price for my oil change. I typically pay $80-90 at other shops for full synthetic. I called to let them know I do not need that service. They called to advise me that my brakes would be close to $1200, as I needed all 4 done plus two calipers. At that point I was already concerned over the price difference in a simple oil change and had a gut feeling I should take it to another shop. I declined the repairs and took it to another chain shop in the area.I work in insurance, I'm no stranger to the fact that different shops have different rates. I'm absolutely flabbergasted that people pay that much to have their vehicles repaired here. Or maybe I don't look rich enough to bother with, I don't know. Regardless my experience here left me feeling completely unvalued. And the other shop said my calipers were not a concern - so if you're a woman I'd definitely be weary of this location being the type to push unnecessary options if you aren't familiar with vehicle maintenance and repairs.Service: Brakes

I went for a rotation but also need a tires. They steered me to some cheaper tires that they felt were just as good as some more expensive tires and said I needed an alignment but when they put it on the machine found that I did not need an alignment so I was not charged. The service took 20 minutes less time than they quoted! Overall I found the group of people at this Firestone location very honest and very nice.

Big thanks to Jeremy for scheduling my service and delivering prompt and professional service! Clean and convenient location with nice waiting area. Went in for a tire rotation, oil change and a headlight out. I was scared that I might be in for a lot more, as my car is high mileage. Nope! Quick service and I was on with my day! Highly recommend!

I have had nothing less then amazing service here. The team was awesome, every single person I've encountered. The store manager was beyond helpful, I've used this location in the past and will continue to do so. This is my go-to car place, and I'll continue to reccomend them to anyone seeking car help. They also helped with suggestions on where I could take my car for the issue they were not able to help with (specialty not normal issue haha).Services: Transmission, Tires

I work here at Firestone and I work with three very qualified guys that work hard for our customers. We consider our customers the boss. And we try to please each and every one of them. I know the work that is done here is quality work because I check each and every job as I am the lead Auto tech. I have a good 30 years of experience with Car Care. So we hope to see you in the future my name is Richard and the guy in the front counter is either Mike, Jeremy, or Doug.

Two out of ten lugs are locked on so tight on the two front tires that my tire iron bent trying to get them off. One is still stuck on. If the goal is to up sell posts or hub assemblies, you did great! No one else has touched the front tires since Firestone. They were torqued on so tight that they were disfigured. I m disgusted.Service: TiresService: Tires

I had a great experience with this location. We took our SUV in for an oil change and the manager working on the Sunday was upbeat and really friendly. Great prices and knowledgeable staff with no pressure for up sales.3rd visit this year and they are the only place I'll go. They tell you about potential issues and future service needs but never pressure you to make additional purchases. Ryan, who often works on Sunday is the friendliest manager I've met. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this shop! They got me in on short notice in an emergency. Every other shop in town told me they'd get to me next week or after labor day. Alexis was incredibly friendly, kind, helpful and compassionate. They got me in and out in one day and charged me an astonishingly fair price for the work. I live in NWI, but will gladly drive back to Kalamzoo to have this shop do the rest of the repairs I need done.

I just had my oil changed and a new battery and a couple other things done to my car. The lady who waited on me her name is Alexis. She was the sweetest , polite and very helpful. I had questions and she had the answers. She told me that is why she is there to help people. I was so pleased. She deserves a BIG promotion. I give Firestone 5 stars because of her and of course the mechanic who worked on my car.

Awesome place & service. We were traveling through on the way home to Illinois when we experienced trouble with our Ford diesel truck. Being a Sunday there wasn't much open or if they were open, they couldn't fit us in until 34 or 48 hours later. We needed to get back because we have livestock not mention jobs to return to. God blessed them withnot just any mechanic but a diesel mechanic. Staff was great...above & beyond...& they put a fresh pot of coffee on!
