I was hoping to post a review before the frozen season but alas - that didn't happen.We broke down on a Friday on a late September morning, I knew my transmission was shot and I was a 1,000 miles from home. I called three of the closest shops, all said they were too busy. My next call reached Terry and he knew I was in a pickle. He said he would do what I could but no promises. Then, he was able to locate a rebuilt transmission in Wisconsin, have it shipped and installed within a weeks time, about 3 weeks quicker than the next best estimate. On top of that, his pricing was very reasonable compared to other shops when I was calling around.Terry went above and beyond and made a friend while doing it - After our van was towed to Terry's shop we had to get back to the east coast for work but Terry called almost every day with an update and let us know when it was ready so I could plan a flight to Marquette. Terry said he would pick me up from the airport to help me save some cash but the day before I was to fly out Terry called to say he was going to be too busy with work. So what did Terry do - that evening he asked his wife to follow him while he drove my van for 45 minutes to the airport and parked it in a safe location where I could easily find it the next day. Incredible. Its been over 2 months and the van is running better than ever, I owe you Terry. We can't wait to meet you in person, hopefully our next travel season.Sincerely, Paul & Carla

I'm an independent contractor for a delivery company. I had a transmission breakdown and called these guys, Terry recognized how much I needed my vehicle and had it finished within a matter of a few days, saving me hundreds of dollars in uhaul rentals, just unbelievable. Terry clearly takes his business and his work very seriously and cares very much about his customers.

Absolutely worth the drive to their new location in Ishperming. Transmission failed on my old plow truck in the middle of winter. Terry and his crew at Marquette Transmission took the truck in on short notice, made the necessary repairs at the agreed price, and got the vehicle back to me in record time. My truck works hard and thanks to Marquette Transmission it looks like it's got a lot of life in it yet.I experienced a friendly staff who appeared to embrace my dilemma with honest concern, and did their best quality work for me.I won't go anywhere else. Our undercar shield had torn and was dragging. They were the only ones who could get us in that day. They bolted it back in place for us instead of charging for new parts and replacement, which was really nice and it s working great. Also got an air filter and oil change. The price was super fair and the experience was easy. We ll be going back for other repairs!Services: Body & Trim, Oil change

Terry is a really honest and fair mechanic, he does quality work with quality knowledge. I drive nearly 100 miles to come here from Iron River and I will continue to do so when I need something fixed. I took it in for a quote and all I was told by them when I dropped it off is that if I needed a new transmission it would cost $4K - they never asked me any questions or explained their process. When they called me with quote they said yes I needed a new transmission and the cost as stated before and that they couldn't work on it for another two weeks. I did call back to ask more questions and did talk to Terry who did give me further explanation and was very informative.

Jared and Jeff are super noledgable, friendly, and very honest. They saved me thousands of dollars on my trucks repair. The competition said I needed a transmission rebuild, but "Terry" one of the techs, found the valve body was warped and causing a pressure drop. They got me back on the road for a fraction of the cost of what those other turkeys wanted to charge. I am grateful they diagnosed the issue and didn't just through a rebuilt trans at it like everybody else wanted to do. What a great experience.

Terry is very passionate on what he does. Terry and his crew are great at building transmissions. Also had lower, upper ball joints and control arms replaced. Reasonable on labor price as well. the worst experience ever. rudest people there. dropped my car off and they broke it more then gave it back. we have called to try and get it fixed again or for reimbursement and terry stays scamming and not answering or lying. my car is now undrivable most corrupt business with corrupt workers.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

These guys went above and beyond to get my truck back on the road. Very happy with the service and the cost of the the repair. Couldn't ask for more. Was also a big help that Enterprise car rental is literally 150 ft. from them. I will definitely come back to them again for anything we need while we are up here.

This place doesn't respect warranty. I had to bring my transmission back and they basically said my part was on backorder for 6 months then refused to do it. Brought it to a different place and they said it didn't even look like they did a full rebuild. The new place fixed it and had to pay another 2,000 bill again. SCAM ARTIST

My parents paid to have their transmission fixed and the torque converter failed 5 months later. This shop did the right thing and was willing to eat some of the cost. I'm very grateful for a business in the local area that is ethical and values their reputation.

Went there to simply get a tune up and was told it was only going to be about 150. I get a call 2 hours after I drop it off saying that I owe them 250 for the work which was 100 more than they said that same morning. They were trying to completely rip me off and charge me an arm and a leg and I refused to pay the extra charges I did not authorize. Beware of this scam.

I will not take my car anywhere else except to Marquette Trans & Auto for any repair. They are more than fair, and do incredible work. Any time friends or family have an issue, I try to send them here.

Our son was a student at NMU and needed engine work performed on his car, Marquette Transmission said they could do the job. After several days of excuses and screw ups by Marquette transmission I told them to stop the work and I would make arrangements to get the car out of there, the owner got on the phone and said they were almost done and insisted they finish the job. He was quite rude and we felt trapped as we live in another state.When the job was finished and my son picked up the car there were parts missing and the job was incomplete and the cost was full price. I had to call Marquette Transmission several times to get the missing parts back they claimed they did not have. We ended up having to take the car to another auto shop and have a complete inspection and the found missing parts put back on the car and finish the repairs correctly.BEWARE! This place with take your money and advantage of you.Very shoddy work, highly advise you to stay clear of this trap.

Such good honest work! From out of town and they were able to fix our truck and have it back to us in 1 1/2 hours!Owner was super friendly and counter guy was to! Would highly recommend!!

No screwing around I'm had to transmission rebuilt something happened with the seal no questions asked brought it back put in a brand another brand new transmission just so everybody knows the first transmission went perfect it was just to see you later excellent work and excellent on price absolutely will bring more of my stuff to work on there oh and they replace my universal joint and they didn't charge me anything for it so excellent place especially for transmission highly recommend it

I had to get my transmission done only took 5 hours and he was 200 cheaper than the cheapest place I called I would definitely recommend him or hopefully I don t have to see him again but I would definitely go to him if I have too even explained everything so have an update I was impressed with when they did my first transmission so I Was going to have em do another one for me but the guy talked to quoted it 1000 more than the last time so kind of not impressed now

While i was away at training I had my car here. Long story short I had 2 keys (one for my ignition and one for my door) that I had given them so that they could work on my car.When I got back I only had one key. (for my door)Being that my vehicle is a foreign one it is going to cost me $150 to get a newly programmed key and have to figure it a way to get it towed being it is AWD. Not happy

Will never deal with again they installed a power steering cooler and didn't even attach it was hanging loose I took my jeep there for transmission leak they said it was full and wasn't leaking I filled it before I drove it there it was the transmission cooler that was leaking they charged me over 700$ and nothing was fixed right

Inconsistent customer service, did not seem to know what they were doing at times, and despite my setting up the appointment a week in advance, still had to order the part while I was there.
