I have used AutoLab for several years for both routine oil changes and complex repairs on my 2 older vehicles. I have always found the customer service outstanding. The necessary repairs and costs are clearly explained upfront. And they never pressure into doing a repair. For all the maintenance I've had on my vehicles, they have quickly and accurately (no guessing) found the issue, & completely the repair. 100% recommend.

I was ripped off by these people . They lied to me about repairs i needed .I know i needed back brakes and that is all i needed , And than i car salesman came out know i needed new front brakes that was just installed . Here is the kicker they were 30 days old they were new by them. than he i needed an air cleaner that was plugged up. i said say what i took the air cleaner out 2 weeks a ago my self .SAY WHAT THEY ARE LAIRS COOKS AND THIEFS , BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!!

Max, and the guys at Autolab were friendly, honest, and professional. I took in a used truck I was in the process of buying for an inspection and if it wasn't for these guys, me and my family would've been in serious trouble. They found issues that could've cost over 2k with the back end and another electrical problem that could've ran another 2k or more. Thx, Autolab.

This place is a joke. Don't go here they told me 20 to 30 minutes for a oil change turned out to be almost 50 minutes. There was a worker there who was off shift and showed the rest of his coworkers his 1970 something silverado. The other three techs felt it was more important not start the oil change on my vehicle and instead check out the truck for almost 10 minutes while my vehicle sat in the bay waiting to get serviced. The manager Andy was a part of the three technitians checking out the truck as well! They said they would top off all of the fluids but they did not. I went out and check the fluid levels myself, come to find that the windshield washer fluid was half empty and the coolant level was below the minimum level. So the manager Andy said he would help me out and he was sorry. His idea of helping me out was to give me 10% off! After his oil change technician told me that he couldn't mix old coolant with new and it would be a good idea for me to pay for a coolant flush. Load of you know what. This comapny is clearly getting to comfortable with its repitatuon and straying from customer service!

I love coming to this place, they always treat us right, let us know what's going on. They don't charge tons nor rip you off. They even squeezed us in for an alignment when everything that day was going wrong. We always go to them first. We've been going for three years now, they didn't even charge us to do a shake down to see what was going on once.Simply the best place we've ever been to and will always go back to.Thank you guys for being a stand up shop!

Took my truck in to get brake work done and Auto Lab of Howell did not disappoint! Max helped me with every aspect of the repairs from the beginning diagnosis to the final paying of my bill. He was very professional, extremely helpful and did an amazing job of walking me through other repairs that I didn t know my truck needed (hopefully covered by warranty but if not, they will be doing the additional work). Found my forever shop! Also, Andy and Travis, you guys are STILL doing amazing things for those of us that don t know so much about our cars and I thank you for that! This place is great! I called ahead of time to ask some questions about the noises my car was making, and they stayed on the phone with me and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. When I was in the shop, they showed me my air filter instead of just telling me it needed to be replaced. They were friendly, kind, and didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. They do good work here, and the prices are actually really nice, too.

Nothing but a great experience from the start. Called to price out a few issues because I felt like I was being charged a lot somewhere else. Not knowing much about cars, AT ALL- I called and spoke with Max. He was incredibly friendly and patient with me and happily quoted me for the same work over the phone. It was a significant savings (he didn't know what I had been quoted elsewhere). He was actually so kind, that I didn't even feel like calling elsewhere for further pricing.I asked if I could bring the car in immediately, as it was at another shop getting something else done and wasn't currently very reliable to be driving (had bad brakes, for starters). Despite not having an appointment available for a week, he said bringing it straight there and leaving it was zero trouble. Win. He promised if they could squeeze it in that they would. No problem.The best part- car was fixed and ready to go THREE DAYS later. Four days BEFORE my scheduled appointment. I was thrilled! I paid over the phone and when they gave me the rundown of what they had inspected and done, they didn't attempt to up-sell me anything I didn't need. Simply brought to my attention some things I already knew needed fixing in the near future. I'll be back in later for those! :)These guys came highly recommended personally by locals in a fb group (why I called them to begin with)- and I'll be offering the same recommendation to others! THANK YOU!

They were very forthcoming and up front with me. They walked me through the issues with my car and did a great job.... saved me from having a dud of a car after I just bought it. I was grateful for there honesty the professional but welcoming atmosphere was nice. They did a great job. I will be returning for more work soon thanks to them showing me some other issues that needed to be addressed ....... it was nice not feeling like I was being duped by a money hungry company that didn't care about my safety and the well being of my car

Great service at a reasonable price. I called them late for a vehicle inspection. They did a quick and thorough job. They detailed all of the issues that needed repair on the vehicle and an estimated cost to fix.

They are GREAT here!! They are VERY HONEST about what (and IF) needs to be done now and what can wait, which is great when you're on a budget. My car was in and out in no time. Their service was exemplary!! Even though the receipt clearly states they'll warranty their work for 12 months or 12,000 miles, they refused to realign my Flex after 2 weeks (3000 miles). Will never do business here again. You lost 3 vehicles.In response to your comment: I guess being an honest customer isn't in your best interest. It's okay, over a $40 alignment, you've lost an honest customer for life.

So I took my car here because one of my rear wheels was squeaking on 1 of the joints. My coworker recommended them so I thought id give then a try. I have to say they were very friendly on the phone and were able to get me in right away. Honestly I felt kind of salty after the appointment because I paid a $100 for them to grease a joint for me and I had one request which was to look under the car when it was lifted up so I can see where the squeaking was coming from (so I could fix it myself in the future) however They didn't let me look under it and I wrote a long letter the next day explaining my frustration and never heard back from them. That left a bad taste in my mouth but.... that being said it's been 3 months now And the problem hasn't returned which means they did a really good job of greasing the joint I still wish they would have showed me where it was so that when it does start squeaking again I can fix it myself without paying another $100 to grease a joint but regardless they did fix the problem so I cannot complain I would have given them 5 stars had they let me look up under the car to see what the issue actually was. Thanks for fixing the problem though!

My first visit to Howell Auto-Lab was last week and I wanted to say thank you to Andy, Mike and other staff for getting me in on short notice and staying over to take care of the problem with my exhaust. Top notch work at a very reasonable price. Wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend them.

Made an appointment online and they called within 30 minutes. They were able to get me in and out on the same day. The guys at Auto-Lab did their job, and unfortunately, it ended up costing more than I would have hoped. But it was honest service, affordable, and I had my car back quickly. Can't ask for much more than that. Thanks to Logan and all the guys at Auto-Lab.

Called many tire stores in area, Auto Lab price was lower to mount & balance 4 tires. They were able to accommodate my schedule the same day. Great, friendly, fast service. Highly recommend.

Went to have my car fixed after it started shaking on the road. Pulled in with no notice. Everyone there was amazing and they were able to get my car fixed fast which was great since I had two little ones with me. And bonus they put on a cartoon for my three year old so she wouldn t be bored which made my experience even better!

Took my truck in to have them inspect A/C it would not work. They said it was low on Freon and did a recharge, then called me and said when they turned on the ac the compressor wasn t getting power which I already knew. Then they had it for 4 days and decided they couldn t find the problem, they told me to take it to a wiring specialist. They told me it was wiring under the dash and all wires in the engine bay were good. I decided to try and figure it out when I finally had time, ended up being extremely simple, a plug in the engine bay had a pin in the wrong slot. Extremely easy to figure out took me an hour with a wiring test light. Then when the compressor finally engaged it wouldn t blow cold, and could see freon leaking out of the low side fill tube. Terrible shop they can t handle anything more than a brake job

I can't say enough good things about Mike and his amazing crew here at Auto -Lab in Howell, MI. I was 2,000 miles over & had to get my mom to the airport by 9, the guys opened up shop early for me to get my oil changed in time for me to pick her up! He also hooked me up with the correct oil for my car even though I was using a free oil change coupon!! Amazing people and amazing service! Everyone go here!

Very disappointed. Had to pay $45 for an inspection that I didn t ask for! Took vehicle in for an alignment. They told me they would need to look at the vehicle before they did the alignment. Was then told that they couldn t do the alignment because the vehicle needed front end work. I was fine with that, but then when I picked up the vehicle I was shocked to find out that I was being charged $47.39 for them looking at the vehicle to let me know they couldn t do the alignment. I wished they would have told me there would be a fee even if they didn t do the alignment when I dropped the vehicle off. Needless to say I will not be bringing my other vehicle here.

I've alway been skeptical of mechanics more of a DIY girl. But I will also admit when its beyond my ability. The Auto Lab had some good reviews and a personal reference. I left there feeling respected and treated fairly. They have earned future business.

It's very refreshing to see that the management cares about your vehicle and getting the job done properly. This is the second time I have been there and both times they have done an excellent job, with reasonable pricing. I feel that they are very trustworthy.

We have been getting our oil changed here for two years. It seemed like a great place. THEN, we took it in for a change in a Saturday morning and the guy said "it will be about 45 min."We came back 90 min later to find they hadn't touched the car. They "rushed" it in & called 20 min. Later to say it was done.Fast forward two weeks. Car sounds odd. Really odd. We check the oil, there is barely any showing up. My husband calls the manager at Auto lab to ask and he instantly said "you have a huge leak then, because we would never not put oil in your car. Bring it in and we will look at it."Of course we did not. We took it to our dealer who confirmed:A.) there wasn't a leak.B.) we very nearly lost our engine.C.) Auto lab is shady and dishonest, because even if an employee had screwed up- the manger handled it poorly.

I had a really bad experience at Autolab. The owner was pretty nice. I came in to get my car fixed. It was overheating big time. I would have gone to a local mechanic I trust but I was too far away and I had to go to work. They told me they had to do some tests. The tests were inconclusive but they said it was not overheating anymore and I only needed a muffler and a fan. Then after I agreed to service, they took it on the highway, it overheated again. I was soaked for 800 bucks and I cannot even drive that car. Maybe if I had been a regular, they would not have taken my money for a car I can't drive. I will never know because I will never be a regular at any Autolab. I am still paying that bill and every time I make a payment, I get disgusted all over again.

Took car in for what I thought would be a vacuum leak test, but turned out to be something else entirely. Their master mechanic Herb was honest and straightforward when taking me into the bay and physically pointing out the problems to me, and providing an explanation. I was able to make use of their free shuttle service to take me home rather than inconveniencing anyone to come and pick me up. I will be picking my car up when they finish working on it, and will give additional feedback at that point.11/9: Vehicle was done same day. Really liked the 10% off for leaving a review. The things that they replaced did not fix the problem, will need to take the car to get looked at again.

If you are looking for an honest place with the best prices and customer service, Howell Auto Lab is definitely the place to take your vehicle!! Mike is an awesome guy and his crew go above and beyond to help their customers in need!! They will continue to have me as a customer!
