The only reason why I am giving this "business" and I struggle to call it a business is because there isn't a zero star rating.They gave me the runaround for 2 weeks on a broken down vehicle. A week to get it there and a week sitting at their establishment untouched. I was informed that they were down to 1 mechanic after I arrived to take my vehicle somewhere else.Then I had the F bomb dropped on myself several times as I was getting my keys. Totally unprofessional.

I love this place! Prices are fair, the people are down to earth, old school "no-bs" type of crew which I appreciate in a world full of entitled Karens. Keep up the great work team! I'll see you guys tomorrow!

I cannot praise this place highly enough. I was travelling through Houghton Lake ona Saturday when my battery light came on. This put me in the awkward position of having to risk driving back home with a bad alternator. This shop was able to get me in on a Saturday and get my car taken care of so I didn't have to risk driving home on whatever charge was left on the battery. They also didn't price gouge me, even though I was between a rock and hard place, and the repair was very quickly accomplished. I definitely recommend this shop.Service: Auto battery maintenance

I came into the place needing my motor of my driver side window fixed. I also needed brakes. So she wrote down all the notes exactly what I wanted done. It was about two days later they called me and said my car also needed calipers. I said okay go ahead with that. I paid the bill and as I was about to leave she said you're going to want to get those brakes checked. I said huh? They didn't even fix my brakes and that's the reason I took it in! Also now my car smells very badly of cigarettes.

Took my ford ranger in yesterday cause it needed a new starter set an appointment for 9am today and they never showed up to work! Not a single sole! Had an employee tell us that he showed up and no one was there to unlock the building! My car is just sitting in the parking lot and I need to find a way to work now

Great auto repair shop! I own a business in Grand Rapids just over 2 hours away and had technicians working in the Houghton Lake area. We had 2 of our 3 vans go down within 2 days. Working with Muffler Man over the phone was easy and a good experience. Unfortunately they weren't able to fix it (needs a new motor), but they were able to diagnose it and were very understanding about letting us keep it there til we could get it towed back to Grand Rapids. Disclaimer: We used another shop in the area for our other vehicle that needed repair, simply because it broke down before 9am when Muffler Man opens. I highly recommend this location!

Love these guys! Very friendly staff and the mechanics are easy to talk to. As a woman, sometimes I feel like I'm being talked down to when it comes to vehicle repair and maintenance at other places. Like they're trying to scam me...not here! The guys here lay it out as it is and answer my questions. I feel totally comfortable here and don't feel like they're taking advantage at all. Very honest and direct communication and I highly recommend. Prices are very reasonable too!

Grand Rapids Pest Control does a lot of service work at Houghton Lake. We spend weeks at a time up there and love every moment, but this time one of our vans overheated. We contacted Muffler Man and they were very welcoming. They fit us in right away and we owe them a big thank you!!! They diagnosed the issue and help give us answers that we needed. Kathy who answered the phone was beyond amazing. She was kind and knowledgeable. Thank you for helping us and being so kind.

I went in and talked with them about doing my exhaust and Chuck was super helpful about the best way to go about it. We ordered some parts and I called to schedule to bring it in and they could work on it the next day. Dropped it off that night and it was ready before noon the next day. It is quieter than the day I bought it. Not even kidding. Very, very reasonable prices, too. Thanks again, guys. I'll be back for sure!

We were in on vacation and had the water pump go out on our car. Called around and explained the time table issue for when we were needing to leave and got ridiculous quotes. I called muffler man and the lady was super nice and very informative. She quoted a excellent price which was right in the rough guesstimate i had. So we dropped the car off. The next day the lady called and explained that it was going to tae longer cuz she estimated the price for a different type car. She apologized for the inconvenience and did not hesitate to explain the original price quoted was what it was going to charge no matter what. The job was done great and the vehicle is running great again. I couldnt recommend this place any more. Very few companies will stick to their guns on quotes and it shows a lot of integrity as a company. I will definitely only use this muffler man for any issues when I'm in the area.Service: Auto water leak repair

I had my muffler fixed a couple weeks ago there was also something else that fell of lol I'm not sure what it was but all together it was around $230. They did inform me about the part that fell off before fixing it and gave me a selection one cost more one less of course I chose less. Lol I have had no problems so far and the people that worked there seemed really nice. If you plan on staying there until your car is fixed it gets cold in there from parts being brought inside so the door is always opening and closing. It's winter stay warm.Hope this helps.

Friendly and professional, mechanics take time to explain how things on your vehicle work. For us non mechanics. No hidden fees or surprises. Honest and upfront. Always makes extra effort to get your vehicle in for service.

$14.88 for an oil change and it included a new filter. They ripped off all my fluids and checked my tire pressure. Great price for great service. I love this place and the people too!

I am a transporter and I delivered a travel trailer here at Camping World. My front driver side wheel bearing gave out on me about 30 miles outside of town as I was bringing the camper up there. I limped the truck to Camping World and delivered the camper. Then I drove to Advance and picked up a new wheel bearing. I am from Indiana and I had my wife and kids with me and I was literally stuck in town until the truck was fixed. This happened around 3:00 PM on a Saturday. I explained the situation and Muffler Man got me in immediately and it was fixed within an hour and for a reasonable price and they allowed me to bring my own part. A++++

Went to this establishment 3 times to try to get an oil change. Was told after first visit come back in two hours, went back they were just finishing up someone's oil change, told at that time sorry cant do it waiting on an appointment for another car repair which was already a half hour late.... come back in morning, ok third visit morning was told no cant do it again come back in two hours. I'm sorry you obviously don't need business your customer service really sucks. Tried to keep small town businesses in mind, but I expect better customer service than you can give.

Took my car here to have parts put in and they melted my axel boot. Only way I found out was another mechanic same day noticed grease everywhere and told me about it. Lady at muffler man called my 2011 Malibu junk and hung the phone up on me when I asked them to fix their mistake. Now I need to pay more then what I started with. Thanks muffler man!!!

Love these guys , they do things on the spot and are quick to get the parts . Fix it right and you on your way. Only one bad thing...the poor guys have to run to the gas station to use the bathroom and if a customer is there for any length of time they do too...

Where do we start first off I went here toget my breaks fixed and for on caliper and two rotors and pads these guy s charged me $644 I was alittle disturbed but figured it must have been the going rates it is what it is. Then today I called toget rough price on new exhaust said he couldn t give me one got irritated and hung up like wow never agian will I return too this business

They are slow and do not communicate about anything. I stopped by this morning to see if it even looked like my car had been started after 2 weeks and found my car in the same space with the keys in the ignition.
