Had my trans rebuilt by Don and I m blown away by how great the car performs now! Great pricing great knowledge and quick turn around

Nice folks, and I'm sure they do fine for stock applications, but NOT a performance shop. When my G80 blew up, they rebuilt it with slightly better spider gears. It wasn't until it blew up again less than a year later, I was told there were helical gears that could be put in, so that's what I had them do. They also rebuilt the transmission, but didn't lock tite some bolts, so less than a year later I had it back there (granted they did check it and replace the destroyed converter free of charge.). I specifically told Don I was building a high horsepower motor for the truck and asked if there was anything else I could or should upgrade inside the transmission. I was assured that there was not, he only recommended a bigger trans cooler. Less than a year later, and my trans is broken again. After some research, there are MANY parts that could have been upgraded and a few that absolutely SHOULD have been. I've given this shop somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 and my trucks dead in the driveway again.Edit since I can't respond. The parts I provided were for the 2nd rebuild. Please advise what "upgrades" this trans got? Hardend sunshell? Shafts? What was done that should have made it capable of holding the horsepower I'm making (you were advised in advance of my H.P. goal). I don't expect you to build racecars, but I did expect you to know enough about transmissions to build one that would hold the power.

I've been going here for about 12 years. Great people who are honest and take good care of you. I wouldn't go to any other shop for transmission work.

The new owner has work and manage the business before he purchased it he not only a business owner now he brings care , honesty and good work , to his New shop the workmanship is top notch and he stand by his work .and you cant beat his staff . A five star rating not enough i would rate his business a 10 .

Just had service done to our Durango Trans. They got us in very promptly and corrected the issue even more promptly. Pricing was great in comparison to larger shops. Definitely recommend if you need to get your vehicle back on the road in safe driving conditions. Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I took my car in not knowing what was wrong with it, but fearing the worst. Don researched the issue and was able to fix the problem much more quickly and inexpensively than I anticipated. I walked in today looking for an o-ring for the kickdown cable on a TH350 transmission. The gentlemen took the part, walked away, and returned with an o-ring and said, "Here you go." No charge, nothing. This is the kind of business that DESERVES our business. I wish I could have caught your name. Photo is of my prize possession, my late grandmother's '71 GS. Don t recommend. Waited a month to get a price. I called every week just to hear maybe tomorrow, then turned into possibility of the next week. That lasted a month. When they finally called me I just decided to give up on the truck. Truly disappointingService: TransmissionService: Transmission

Transmission was fixed. It shifts extremely hard though tried calling for some help. And I was put on hold for 24 minutes and they never picked up. I wouldn't recommend

Top notch transmission work! Took in a 2011 Ford Fiesta that needed a dual clutch assembly in the transmission. Got the car back in a reasonable amount of time considering how popular/busy they were. Pricing/labor was also much cheaper than you would pay at a dealership, but the service and work was phenomenal. The car runs great! Craig was a lot of help over the phone and in the office. 10/10 recommend for any transmission work.Services: Transmission, Vehicle Inspection

I have been to many shops and I have to say their experience, expertise, and ability to fix complicated and 'never seen that before' type issues is legendary in my book. The breath of experience they have is fantastic.I had our 2016 Dodge Caravan here for a number of issues and they figured them all out in time for our road trip to SC!

Don and the whole crew here are incredible. They operate their business with a level of integrity and customer-focus that is astounding. Words can not express how much I would recommend Don. He has went out of his way to ensure our vehicle was fixed correctly and safe to drive. Which, includes coming to our house to repair the car, due to it not being able to be moved safely. They are extremely knowledgeable and customer centric. I m gonna write this to remind people that patience is important. Things have been quite busy in my life and to top it off I blew the rear end in my truck. My truck specifically seems to have more of the oddball parts, which made it especially difficult to find a replacement for Fenton Holly Trans & Gear. They have ALWAYS taken good care of me and been extremely thorough and professional. I waited a while for this repair but even taking one look at their parking lot in the scheme of things it s actually quite impressive how quickly they do get work done. The day before they completed my truck I got a bit impatient with Don and I feel bad for that considering he was held up by another vehicle and reassured me mine was next. Later that day I called back to get an update and he said it was almost done about an hour before they close. He said he expected it done by 11AM the next day it was done at 9AM. My truck drives better than ever and Fenton Holly Trans & Gear continues to exceed my expectations.Heather, Don, and whoever else contributed to the repair on my truck, thank you for everything, especially your patience with my impatience.

A SHOP THAT STANDS BY ITS WORK. I ve owned more than 20 vehicles over the last 50 years and most of them needed repairs at one time or another so I ve had a lot of experience with repair shops. Fenton Holly Transmission and Gear was by far the best experience I have had with a repair shop. I have a 2006 Ford Explorer with over 225,000 miles that I would like to keep for awhile. When the transmission began experiencing problems other shops referred me to this shop. The owner, Gary, was very informative about the options I had when explaining the issues with my transmission. He was straightforward about the costs and the repair expenses were reasonable for the work required. I never once had the feeling I was being worked to have more repairs done than necessary which is an experience I have had with less reputable shops. Once the work was performed Gary, his manager Matt , and the mechanics carefully monitored my transmissions performance and when problems were discovered they stood by their work and made the necessary repairs without additional charges for work previously performed. I m still driving my Explorer and believe I will be doing so for many years to come. I highly recommend this shop.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Love this shop. I have had many cars there and have sent many people there and have never heard a complain or had to take the car back. The work is very excellent, great pricing and fast work. I took my car somewhere else and got quoted double what i paid here. I had a transmission line leak and i didn't notice it till later in the day and i called them up and they had it fixed for me the same day! I told them i was leaving for college and they did everything they could to finish it and it was perfect! Definitely recommend!

The transmission was rebuilt on my 2015 Chevy Traverse. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to get the work completed and back on the road. Great service! Don came to house to run diagnostic so I could decide if car was worth fixing before bringing it in. He arranged towing for me and had my car back on the road in a few weeks. Let me start by saying I'm a single mother of two boy's. I'm on disability due to health reasons. With having no luck at all my car broke down while my sister was on her way to work. The first place my car was towed to could not and would not do what my warranty company for my car wanted done. By the best luck I have ever had we looked up transmission shops and found this business. We noticed that everyone could not say enough about the service they had going here. I had my car towed over here. I had already paid for a tow to the first place and had been charged 200.00 for them to tell me they could not do the work. I spoke to Gary when I had it towed over I explained what had happened with the car and my situation. He worked with my car warranty company and gave me a break at everyplace he could. I will from this point on in my life only take my car to one place and that is to Fenton Holly Transmission and Gear. So helpful and so honest. What Gary and his staff did I can never thank them enough. So Thank you once again Gary there are not to many honest owners around anymore. You made me believe there are still some good people out there. I hope all the good you do for people comes back to you . Once again thank you.

Integrity & Honesty is something that can be hard to find these days! Gary and staff offer just that along with superb and quality of service at Fenton Holly Transmission & Gear. Gary and staff were there to help me determine if my 1999 Chevy vehicle that needed a transmission was worth fixing. Gary took the time to go over the vehicle with me and give me the truth about a vehicle that I thought was going to be used for parts. The transmission service they provided was OUTSTANDING quality and the 1999 Chevy Blazer drives like new thanks to Fenton Holly Transmission & Gear. I can't thank Gary and his staff enough for being patient with me. His honesty in what needed to be done to make this Blazer drive again. I applaud your attention to DETAIL, outstanding customer service, excellent pricing, honesty, integrity and quality of service! Everything we're are taught in the military. Gary and his team did a fantastic job on my parents vehicle. They made sure they covered the main issue as well as any other issues that were happening, making the car run like brand new! We have had two vehicles in for major transmission repairs at Fenton Holly Transmission. My husband, in the past, has had horrible experiences at other repair facilities that had left him distrustful of shops, and he's learned to do most of the repairs himself. Transmissions, however, are not in his wheelhouse, and his demanding job doesn't allow for learning that on the fly in his "spare time." I started searching for local shops, called and spoke with Gary, felt immediately comfortable with him, and encouraged my husband to do the same. He did, and he had the same response. We are thrilled that we found Fenton Holly Transmission. It is rare to find a repair facility this trustworthy, thorough, and excellent. It is a jewel! They truly care about your vehicle running in a dependable, safe manner. Their prices are very fair and reasonable. Gary and his entire staff are a genuine pleasure to deal with - and there is even an awesome little shop mascot dog, Earl. :) I cannot recommend this business enough. I am so relieved to find a place we can trust to get the job done properly, quickly, and fairly priced. Do not hesitate to bring your vehicle here.

My first experience was over 30 years ago with Fenton Holly Trans and Gear. I received excellent service then. I the leased for several years so I had not been there. I recently needed some work done on my vehicle and I called Gary. He told me to bring it in and they would look at it. They did the repairs as needed and just like 30 years ago excellent service. As others have said, they explain to you what is going on and treat you with respect. There is a reason Fenton Holly Trans and Gear is still in business, They take care of the customer "Excellent Service and Small Town Pride "

My cars transmission was slipping and I first took it to a local transmission shop in Grand Blanc Mi. After receiving an estimate for the work I got an uneasy feeling about the staff and the amount of cars surrounding the shop. So I started investigating and found Fenton Holly Transmission and Gear which had great reviews I set up an appointment with Gary and drove down and visited his shop. I found the shop both organized, clean and Gary easy to deal with. I left the car and Gary kept me informed and his pricing beat his competitors. To date I have not had one problem after a complete transmission rebuild and will recommend to all my friends to take their cars to Fenton Holly Transmission and Gear a five star establishment.

Gary was so helpful to me with my 2007 Ford Fusion. He was 100% honest and very communicative every step of the way. They took apart the transmission quickly and I was given an affordable price to get it fixed. You can tell this guy cares about his business.

They took my son's automatic plus another junk one, saved us some money, fixed common weaknesses in it and it has been perfect since it went in. They now have my manual to rebuild. They are more than friendly, treat you like family. They have a customer in me for life because I'm sure they'll keep up the service. They've been doing it a long time. Thank You!

I blew the transmission in my 1996 Silverado and was recommended to go there and needless to say I am completely satisfied. The employees and Gary the owner are a great group of guys and they are very patient and make sure the job is done and won t give up on it until it runs perfect. I would highly recommend. Great group of guys and a great company to go to.

This place was amazing. After taking my car to Muffler & Go and being told there was no time for me at all today, not even for a quick 2 minute scan, I brought my car here. They were fast, and talked me through the issues my car had, and options for fixing them. They were swamped with work, but still made time for my car, because they understand driving a car with an unresolved issue can lead to bigger, and more expensive issues. They have great service and are very helpful. Highly recommend this shop, as I will be going back myself.
