Our family started using this shop 14 years ago when we moved to town. They have ALWAYS been helpful, honest, and gone above and beyond to get our vehicles running well. In the past few weeks they spent the extra time to go over my son's older truck looking for issues and helping us decide if it was worth repairing or needed to be replaced. With their help, we decided to get it repaired and feel confident sending him off to college in his beloved vehicle. I can't recommend this shop enough.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes

My family and I were traveling through Petoskey with our Travel trailer and had an unexpected wheel bearing/ Spindle failure on the axle of our camper.We were basically dead in the water and had to rent a hotel room.After calling 10 automotive and trailer repair places within 25 miles of Petoskey, B.B.T.B. was the only shop that would even entertain getting our trailer in for the repair.It was a Friday afternoon and we were leaving to return 7 hours home Sunday. So we were in a bad spot. I had already conceded having to leave the trailer and come back next week to pick it up the Trailer if not miraculously fixed Saturday.Needless to say I received a call Saturday morning that the trailer was repaired and we were able to head home Sunday.Thank you so much, saved our butts and me having to waste a day of 15 hours of driving to pick up the trailer on a later date.Great shop and really cool European cars being worked on, along with cool off road trucks and unusual rigs.Extremely friendly staff and when I asked about the shop around town they have a great reputation.Can't recommend Brakes by the bay enough.Thanks so muchJoe Klopp

Mike and crew did a fantastic job on my 77 MGB. They came recommended from a fellow MG owner I ran into in Petoskey and I couldn't be happier. They fixed my wobbly steering and leaking oil issues. The correct diagnosis was done, and they kept me informed along the way. When you find a good/honest car repair shop that puts the customer first you keep them as the first place to turn to in the future. My 77 'B has found its new home for any repair and work that may need to be done!Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

Such a fantastic crew here. Obviously they've been here for a long time because they know my parents by their cars! They helped me out on a Saturday right at closing because I needed to know whether I could safely drive back to Kalamazoo. Whew. What a relief to meet good people.

This is the second time we've utilized their service, it definitely won't be the last! Had our truck in and out and it's back to running as it should. I feel like the price was fair for the amount of work completed.

Fast, trustworthy service. It took some time to get my car in with an appointment but I am exceedingly happy with the service and how I was treated by staff. Will definitely be returning for any future car repair needs!

These guys were awesome, front wheel bearing went out, called said they were booked the next 2 days. Told them I was in a jam, on vacation 500 miles from home, had me bring it in, was done the next morning. Highly recommend.

Great family owned service shop. I had them put a new engine in my car and couldn't be happier with the service and speed and price. They tell you up front about problems/prices and don't try to hide it and catch you by surprise when all is done - which is appreciate. Highly reccomend them.

I was camping at Petosky State Park with my family the 2nd week of June, 2020. My alternator stopped working, and I needed a new alternator. Brakes By The Bay got me in on a Friday, did the repair, and delivered the car to my hotel. I received excellent service at a fair price.Service: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

Owner Brent Truman and his team are amazing. Some of the nicest, most helpful, fair, honest and trustworthy people you will ever deal with. A close friend referred me to Brakes by the Bay years ago and I couldn't be happier with their auto repair service. And they don't just do brakes. They will fix anything.

They do great and fast work. Just had my front breaks and bearing replaced by them. Called on Monday, drove it in on Tuesday and head it back Wednesday evening. I would give a forewarning to women though as they have been known to overcharge them, just personal experience and have heard from friends and family. I usually have my dad call in or just act like I know what I m talking about and show them who s boss. I d still rather take my car here than anywhere else.

Great place, nice people and very efficient. When I stopped in to get a quote Mike gave me an estimate off the top of his head which was good enough for me to make an appointment. The work was done when they said it would be done and within the price range they quoted.

Just got my 85 CJ7 back from them and as always it was a great experience. They always act as though I'm family when I walk in the door and I have been using them for years for both personal and work vehicles. Very reasonable and very fast service especially for fleet vehicles.

I always have a great experience here. Very knowledgeable techs, and they don't talk down to you. I feel so good taking any of my vehicles here. I have sent everyone from my work there. I HIGHLY recommend this business!

Awesome. We were on vacation camping in the area when the battery in the car failed. Friends suggested we go there. Nice people. Checked everything out. New battery and on the go in about an hour. SUPER !!!!

First time using them. I needed the front brakes done and an oil change. They did it on they scheduled day and time at a reasonable price. I'll use them again in the future.
