I don t typically write reviews, especially negative ones, but the customer service experience I received from the service department deserves a review.I have a truck that I bought new at Tinney Automotive with an extended 8-year, unlimited miles warranty. I recently had a leak in the transmission line on my truck. My mechanic, who typically works on my fleet of vehicles and equipment, looked at the truck first. After my mechanic consulted with a different dealership, he diagnosed the problem, which was a common problem with that year of trucks, and he found the replacement hoses to fix the problem. He also knew that I had the warranty on the truck and advised me to check with the dealership I bought it from to see if they could repair it because it should be covered under the warranty.I was under a tight timeline because it was a truck used to snow plow and there was snow coming in a couple of days. My mechanic could get the parts and have it fixed the next day, but I was hoping it would be covered under the warranty I paid extra for.I called the service department and explained what my mechanic diagnosed and explained my tight timeline. The person answering the phone assured me that they would be able to look at it later that day and do the repair the next day.I immediately called the tow company to have it towed, so it would get to the dealership as soon as possible.Later the next day I was told that they had to have the warranty company come out to look at the truck before they would determine if it would be covered under the warranty. I was also told they could not get the parts for 4 days. I explained again about the timeline that I discussed when I called and he basically told me the person answering the phone didn t give me accurate information about the expectations on my timeline.Because the dealership was unable to fix my truck in time I was forced to pay, for a second time, to have the truck towed back to my mechanic, who was able to find the parts from a local dealership and fix it early the next day. I was also charged by the dealership a $200 diagnosis fee, which I was never told of ahead of time, and my mechanic had already diagnosed the issue before I brought it there.The person answering the phone was either deceitful or incompetent. I clearly explained my situation and they assured me they could get my truck fixed within my expectations.I am still puzzled how the service manager could not get the parts for 4 days, but my mechanic could easy get the parts from a different Chevy dealership and get my truck fixed early the next day.It is really disappointing that when you buy a truck from a dealership, they push an extended warranty, but when you actually need to use the warranty you get the run-around. The extended warranty actually cost me more time and money in this case than if I had not purchased it.

I was able to pull in right away for my oil change. Was greeted right away with smiling faces and a friendly staff. I was able to sit inside the very comfortable dealership while waiting for my oil change. I would highly recommend and look forward to future oil changes at Tinney.

One of the most incompetent dealers I have dealt with. From attempting to purchase a new vehicle, from trying to get my new vehicle serviced.About one year ago I was in the market for a bigger truck, and was told by a salesman (Jim Olewinski) if you want to be with the big boys, you re going to pay big boy money . The new GMC truck I wanted was within my budget. He also told me that if I found something that I like, to come find him, he never attempted to help me find a new truck. Disgusted by this salesman s attitude I purchased the truck I wanted elsewhere.During my ownership of this new truck, I have had intermittent audio problems with it. All audio would cut out; no radio, no turn signal noise, nothing..Since Tinney Automotive was closest to me, I regretfully decided to give their service department a chance. That was a mistake.. The first visit to try and resolve the trucks audio problems resulted with them scheduling me for the wrong day, and my promised loaner vehicle was not available. It took an hour of arguing with them before they finally found me a loaner vehicle. After a day of service, my truck was ready for pick up. The software was found to be out of date, so it was updated in hopes that the audio problem would be resolved. Well, it was not resolved..I lived with the trucks continued intermittent audio problems, mostly due because of my busy work schedule.Fast forward to a few months ago, the audio issues became much worse and unlivable. So I, regretfully again, made a service appointment with Tinney Automotive because it was the closest gmc dealer to me. I didn t have another vehicle at the time, so I had to wait in person during this appointment. They found that the trucks software was out of date and informed me that they were going to update it. The software update ended up taking too long and failed. This failed update caused by digital gauge clusters and infotainment screen to not be not operational. The screens were completely black, no speedometer, no anything.. just black. By this time, the dealer was closing for the day and they told me to get a ride home (which I did not have) or take my truck home and return the following day . How??!I did not feel comfortable driving a vehicle with no speedometer or gauge cluster.. I expressed my concern for my safety, and they brushed it off and basically told me it was my problem to deal with. It took yet another hour of arguing before they finally provided me with a loaner vehicle. And yes, I definitely called GM and told them my complaints to my case manager.The following day, they completed the update and said an amplifier on the truck has an internal problem. I have since taken my truck to the dealer I originally purchased it at, and have had their service department help me.Overall, my experience at Tinney Automotive was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. I would never recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle or to use their service department. The lack of customer service and care for their customers' safety is concerning and unacceptable. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere for your automotive needs.

My Mom bought a 2013 Silverado here a few years ago. Just brought it back in to get a few things done to it and they said "its not worth fixing" said they wouldn't take it back on trade and did nothing to help. They said the frame was too rusted but it's typical rust you get here in Michigan. Terrible service, thanks for nothing Tinney and crew.

Was looking for a new family car and found a good deal online and was able to get an even better deal in store. The sales team was friendly and Rick helped me out with any info I needed. Even went the extra mile and filled up the tank after we accidentally drive it off the lot on E. Great experience after not having the best one last time I bought a car.

Our service person was knowledgeable and committed to making our visit a great one. It was quick and the completed work was explained in detail before, during and after so there were no surprises. There was only one issue that arose and that was when I chose to pay with my reward points. They could not locate my member # and I did not have it with me. I was finally able to locate it in an email that I had saved from GMC. I felt they should have known it or could have found it. Other than that, our service was great.

After having some concerns, Barry jumped in and very quickly got me answers. My car was fixed faster than expected, even though it was right before the holidays. I felt like Barry was very honest and cared about my experience. Great communicator and really cares about the customer. Could not be more happy!

The young woman at the write up in the Oil Change was great.The young woman at the regular Service writes up acted like she could care less about my problems with my Car and didn t know anything about Cars in general.Very poor customer service with her.

I was helped with what I needed. I ended up doing a new deal for a more efficient oil change that makes it so I don t have to change it as often and a protectant for my fuel lines, so hopefully it will be worth the extra costs. It did take a VERY long time for the oil change, much longer than when I went to another Chevy Dealer and they did it while I was in the car.

One of the two reception guys was pretty rude and could not comunicate well. Felt very snarky. Would get scheduled in the morning and not hear anything from them just to pick up the truck at 6pm and have nothing done. Rescheduled a week later and communication was still verry poor. Tried to upsell me on unnecessary stuff. Will never go back.

Had my 2015 Acadia looked at by your service department for loud exhaust. Told me it was going to be around 1100 for new Y flex pipe. Took it to my local mechanic and it was just a flange bolt that broke. Easily seen with car on lift.Last week took my 2021 gmc sierra elevation in for transmission slipping and a shutter feeling when driving. Tech called and said it s common for a truck with 28000 to slip which is not right. They never looked at the shutter. Took another day in half to look at that. I had to call to check on vehicle status. Have bought both vehicles new from tinney. And this will be my last time dealing with them.

Called about a Cadillac they received. Salesman told us about it and said they still have it. Drove 45 minutes to test drive it only to be told the owners mother currently has it. How pathetic!!!

I've bought my last two Chevrolet vehicles through Tinney Auto in Greenville, MI, and have had a terrific customer service experience with both purchases.(And, I absolutely love the 2024 Blazer RS that I took ownership of on September 28, 2023.)Shelby (salesperson), Ashley, & Vince (appraiser on my trade-in of a 2019 Equinox Premier) all came together to make the purchase a great, comfortable and satisfying experience.Ashley too was great in keeping me well informed as the Blazer RS went through the various stages of manufacturing, shipping and delivery.I would highly recommend Tinney Auto, and highly recommend and suggest Shelby and Vince for a wonderful buying and trade-in experience.LonnieBelmont, MI

The service department got my truck in quickly and had it fixed within a day and a half. They communicated well after troubleshooting the issues and ensured I wanted to proceed with repairs. They also worked with my extended warranty, which saved me a chunk of money. A+.

Art Gonzalez was extremely helpful & friendly! I had fast & efficient service. Rick signed me in quickly. I am very impressed with the service. I have had bad experiences before with OTHER car dealerships which makes me so happy I found Art , Rick & friends. I wait for the service & the waiting area is well lit & clean with comfortable seating. This is also a reason to come back again.
