Steve, at the Fuller and Leonard location, was absolutely the best. Had a flat tire and needed assistance in changing out the spare. He found a nail, took it out, filled up the tire with air and sent us on our way. We offered to pay, or tip, and all he wanted was a friendly handshake. Best customer service situation ever!!!! No matter what the business is, he was the best I've ever experienced. We will be back very soon to get our brakes done. Thanks Steve. You rocked it out!!!!

So my girlfriends 2010 Dodge Journeys front right tire was smoking from the brake caliper. We were pretty far but made it to this location even though the brakes were stuck. Steve ended up looking at it and gave us a call and said I fixed it for no charge absolutely amazing and made our day. Steve God Bless you brother!!! I d give 6 stars if I could!

January 23rd, 2024.. I accidentally brought in wrong size snow tires for installation onto my daughter s vehicle. Shop had the experience to notice the size difference, recognized that it would be an issue on a low profile vehicle. They called my daughter to alert her prior to starting work. Other shops I have experience with wouldn t have noticed until after the work was in progress - which would have resulted in rework and a waste of money. They also noticed brake caliper piston leaking fluid and saturating the rear brake pads. Good catch. Reasonable fair pricing. Good communication.

My driver's side front caliper failed and almost sent me through a red light. This place was close. I was on the clock so I needed a miracle. Let me tell you, these guys had my car up on the lift within 20 minutes of me pulling in. Hardly an hour later, they swapped a rotor, calipers, and 4 pads... The gentlemen operating this business are very professional. I recommend Tuffy.

Great experience today! Got me in for a tire repair and was helpful throughout the process. I asked to inspect the breaks and replaced rear breaks in about 40 minutes. They have won my business going forward.

We were visiting Grand Rapids from out of town when the power steering went out on the car. It was 5 PM on a Friday of a holiday weekend. We called and Steve told us if we could bring the car in, he would come in and look at it on Saturday morning. One of his employees was kind enough to give us a ride back to our hotel. We were worried that it would be a major repair and not be ready until Tuesday and we needed to return home by Saturday afternoon. Steve called us at 9:30 on Saturday morning to let us know it was only a fuse and the car was ready. We are so grateful for these kind people and their excellent service. In 2023, we ve been doing this thing whereby to tell someone something without really telling them So I have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer ( worth maybe $4000) that needed rear brakes and had a power steering leak.Tuffy s pulled this very stunt!!! Why did I get quoted over $4000?? I waited patiently for him to crack a smile and tell me he was kidding. NOPE, he was serious!! Wow what a way to tell me you didn t want my business!! So I gathered my things and went to another shop. I paid $600 for everything. Please don t respond to my review with Sorry you had such a bad experience. Please give us a call and give us a chance to make it better It s too late for that. My vehicle is fixed!! I had to take it elsewhere. Better yet, what you can do is stop trying to price gauge and come up with alternatives. I understand capitalism. But some money is better than no money ..and you made no money off of me that day!!

On 9/2/2023 Saturday I took my Daughter 2000 Ford focus in for inspection and to replace Fuel filter. I specifically told the manager I want to see new Fuel filter before you replace, but he didn't show me . The paperwork was not professional, I had to ask about warranty on part nothing on paper. Me and My Daughter sat at the shop in my other car watching my car sit in garage untouched and never replaced part still charged me. I asked for my old fuel filter and manager give me a filter beat up he found in the trash. Don't take your car here just a bunch of crooks.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My sister and I brought in her car for over heating issues. They called me and told me it was a heating sensor,which I could not find and was somewhere on radiator. Was gonna be like 400 some,then they told me it needed a new radiator as well. That it would be like 970 ,told them to do just the sensor as I could not get hold of my sister. Will when she finally got hold of them,she told em to to do the radiator also. Will now their telling her it's $1027 not sure how it went one within an hour. Then they tell her that she needs to bring in $15 for a service fee or something.....really $1027 didn't cover that? Whatever she said that she will not return,nor will i.....to this place or any tuffy

It's been a few years since I visited this shop. Yesterday I dropped in shortly after they opened. The front brakes were replaced, the oil and filter changed, and tires rotated. This was my 3rd visit to this shop. I had not been here for some time. I was very happy to see that the same family was still operating this shop. I was in and out in out in 2 hours. The service I get from this shop has always been great. Friendly, professional, and clean waiting area.Services: Tires, Brakes, Oil change

Had an excellent experience today. I needed an oil change and tire rotation. They got me in right away. I was very surprised by the price because I use full synthetic. It was definitely a bargain. Terrible don t take your car there these people do not care about you, they will lie to to you about what is going on with your car just to take your money. I had a flat tire situation couldn t fix it my my bolts were rusted so I figured tow my car to them get it fixed. I go there they tell me I need a whole new hub cap cool what do I know about cars they tell me it s going to be $700. Long story short they tell me I have no other option but to do that. Luckily for me I meet another friend who is a mechanic who told me there was nothing wrong for my car just needed a new tire. It s crazy they really tried to get one over on me that badly this is my revenge don t go to them.Service: Tires

I have owned four vehicles in my lifetime, and each one has eventually needed varying levels of break work done (Pontiac, Chrysler, Buick, Silverado). I have brought each of those vehicles to this Tuffy to get repairs and they are A++. I have received the vehicle back the same day everytime, the price always seems fair, and the best part not one time did I have to bring the vehicle back to have them correct something. On my last visit they replaced bearings and even helped me diagnose another issue I had been having a problem with. Everyone in that building knows what they are doing in my opinion. 5* never failed

Tuffy is my go to auto repair shop, ive brought my current car and previous cars here multiple times, Dan and his crew are all nice people and I never feel like I'm getting ripped off. Steve's Tuffy is the best in the Grand Rapids area. I would take my Toyota Echo & RAV4 here for routine maintenance & any issues that would arise - their work is very versatile & comprehensive from major body, engine, wheel, exhaust or transmission work that was done to the simple oil change. Steve's Tuffy always took care of me & made sure I had the fairest pricing he had to offer - they consistently kept their promise for services being done in a prompt & thorough manner - always ensured I understood what was going & what their plan of action would be. I trust their services & I always paid what I was quoted. Lastly: When I was living in the area, I was younger & was often on hard times. Steve & crew were so kind & accommodating in arranging a payment plan with me to get me on the road & back to work. It's easy to be loyal to this shop. Shop full of good people looking to get you & your vehicle taken care of no matter what. Call ahead! They are often quite busy due to the amount of people who trust them & their work - but are always willing to fit you in. 5 stars. It's easy to be loyal to this shop. I am a Tuffy girl. Tuffy for life!

Great service! I was in a pinch and had some issues with my brakes that I needed resolved quickly. I got there when they opened on Saturday, and even though I waited roughly an hour for the diagnosis, their receptionist, Vera, was very kind and took good care of me. Made my wait so much easier! When they found the problem they showed me exactly where it was and explained it thoroughly, that's the first time a shop has taken me under my car and shown me the issue! They initially quoted me at a high price in case they needed to replace more parts, but it ended up being a third of the cost because they were efficient and did great work. Great experience, highly recommend!

Very poor experience, I would not trust them with your vehicle. I brought my wrangler to them, explained the problem I was experiencing, and then told them what the cause was, and what I wanted done. They looked over the vehicle, told me I was wrong, and that it was something entirely different. I told them to fix it then, and what do you know they only have a "premium" version of the part ($400 vs $130 for oem), which had this part been the actual source of the problem I would have said oh well to the increased cost and been happy. However the problem was not solved in the slightest, I'm not sure how they test drove it and believes they could return it with the issue occuring MORE than before I had dropped it off. I brought it right back and they called me up and begrudgingly said, yeah we think it's what you said it was the first time (replacing the flex line between the stainless brake line and caliper, flushing the brake fluid, and replacing the front caliper). They then quoted me astronomical rates for these parts as well. All in it would have cost me just shy of $1100 to have the problem actually solved had I gone through them. Instead I went and bought the parts for $120 dollars total and spent an afternoon doing it myself like I should have from the start. I would not recommend taking your vehicle. They are either very poor mechanics or malicious. Couldn't say which.I will say they were very polite the entire time... For what it's worth.Services: Brakes, Auto maintenance

Although they were busy, they still managed to make time for us. The workers appreciated the red bulls and Snicker bars as a lil tip. I have had numerous cars at this location. Steve is honest.I recently visited Tuffy again. After an inspection the owner Steve said, "Take it to the dealer. It is likely covered under warranty." There was no charge even though they spent ample time helping me. I did take it to the dealer and the part was replaced at no charge. Thank you Tuffy for honesty and quality advice.

We took our car here to have the breaks serviced. Quality customer service. They called me and told me that it did not need to be serviced. They did not even charge us. I appreciate the honesty and customer service!

Always great, friendly service from these guys! They always work with me to get me the best price on auto repairs, and are all around "good guys". They are very knowledgeable, and have never tried to "sell me" on repairs I don't need. As a female customer, it makes me feel great to know that they are not trying to take advantage of somebody that could easily be (and have been by other shops) fooled into fixing something that doesn't need to be done. I will never take my vehicle anywhere else for repairs. These guys are amazing. Keep up the good work!

Left oil drain plug loose from an earlier oil change done by them, even after returning to them for an oil leak concern and all they did was clean it. They did not bother to check their own previous work to insure it was done correctly. I can no longer trust them to protect my vehicles.

I've taken my car here multiple times for service. The first few times, everything went well. The last two times I've left with more problems to fix on my car than I went in with. Steve claims it's all routine maintenance, but how can things go wrong every time you have my vehicle? The most recent time, they had my car for 2 weeks. I appreciate them giving me a loaner in the meantime, but it was not comparable to car I own. Also, how is it acceptable to have my car for 2 weeks, especially since when I dropped it off they said it would be ready the next day. I got gouged by Steve and his group of shoddy mechanics for $3200, and who knows how much it will cost to fix all the lights that are lit up on my dash now? Steve told me that it's just probably my wheel bearing that's gone bad and nothing they did. I hope you don't do this to everyone that comes in there.
