This location is now closed. Their steady location to better serve their customers is on 28th Street. Just east of Kalamazoo on the right hand side. Across from the Golf course. Everyone needs a good mechanics. That's why you should go to Thompson's Auto repair.

Appointment setup verbally with Shawn two days ago for 9/15/23 @10am for Front Struts, Springs, And alignment for $525. They've worked on my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer LT 4.2, 4x4 with a lift kit before. Once they had it in the air and apart Bob walked outside to inform me the cost is $448 MORE! Needless to say I made them put it back together and left. I've contacted the State now. I'm angry and feel they're trying to take advantage of me! I FOUND Proline on S. Division is doing it for $590. I wouldn't go to Thompson's again after this! SHAME on them! I tried to get them to lower some, even though their mistake and Bob wouldn't give! NEVER again.... HORRIBLE! They don't seem to Care about their Customers enough! Beware

went because my fuel door would not open. the gentlemen at the desk were polite and very helpful. went out to my car ,took a look , did not need to be fixed. showed me what to do and charged me nothing, let me make sure i understood how to open door on my own. treating customers like this is something that never happens. bravo for helping me out and saving me money. if i need any repairs done on my car i will be going to them and will recommend them to others!

My husband took my car here and was told it needed new brakes and rotors.Let them replace them for almost $1000, When I got my car back every time I stopped it was shaking horribly. It had never shaken before! I have a 2018 Sienna. After 2 months of this I couldn't stand it anymore. Took it to Toyota and for less, they put on new brakes and rotors and it runs smoothly. So I wasted my money but I learned my lesson. Never go to them again!

Prices are very reasonable. Staff had good communication and phones were answered right away. Service was much faster than I expected.I needed an oil change and a repair to my exhaust. I called in and was told they were booked pretty solid, but they could try to work it into the schedule if I could drop it off. I was told it could be up to $250 for the exhaust repair, depending on how many pipes needed to be replace, which is right in line with other estimates. Got a call that day with a more accurate cost and had my car back to me with in 24 hours. Paid $170 total for the oil change and exhaust repair.Only caveat I noticed is that their lot is kind of small, so there is a sign on the door about an additional charge for leaving you car for more than a couple of days after it has been repaired. They seem like a pretty reasonable shop, so I would just make sure you let them know before hand if you can't pick your vehicle up right away.I look forward to bring my vehicle back here in the future. Thanks for making my car run quietly again!

BILL!!! This man is awesome!!! My husband had just gotten out of the hospital and his truck broke down two hours from home. I called Thomson s on a whim and how fortunate I was to get a great place and a great person too! Bill went above and beyond to get our truck up and running the same day he received it at their garage!!! Fantastic place to go with reasonable pricing too. I've been using them a couple of times now and they do some great work there. I had a substantial amount of work needed on my town and country and they offered some fair pricing. They also were very friendly over the phone and explained everything that needed to be done and how much it would cost.Its hard finding a place to go and not feel rip off afterwards. I'm lucky I found this place.Update: I recently went to the place and didn t see the mechanic I normally talked to before COVID. It looks like they merged stores together and the prices changed by a lot. What normally would have been a quick brakes and pad job turned out to cost me well over 1,200. To top it off I asked if they could look at it and let me know how much which in the past would have been free they charged me for and took about a week to even get in their calendar.I ended up going somewhere else where I only paid 300 for the job and the customer service was better. I honestly felt weird going in like I was bothering them. Not the same place so I lowered the rating and can t recommend anyone

Thompsons is always fair on pricing, they get the repairs finished quickly and also they get the repairs done the correct way the first time and every time.I'll always recommend Thompson's to anyone in need of any auto repairs!

Bob tested my blazer and Mike put in the alternator. Jeff took a lot of his time to explain a lot of things to me about my blazer. They did a great job of repairing my blazer and making me feel valuable. I saved $50 having them do it vs. Muffler Man. I will be taking my truck back in to have them to do more repairs soon. I'm impressed. I trust these guys to work on my vehicles! And to give me the best pricing. Thanks guys! Nice meeting you. I went here with the hopes of them fixing my car problem on Nov 30th 2022. I had dropped it off 2 days prior for an 8am Mon morning appt. My windshield wipers stop several times or don't work at all, but only during the cold months of winter. This has happened for about 2 yrs in a row now but hasn't gotten worse. Upon explaining my problem to the man in the office they felt they could help me. I called at 10:15 am that Mon to get an update, they said they hadn't got to it yet, so called again. One hr before they closed I called to get my car that night. Turns out they wanted to keep it again because it was hooked up to some device ? To apparently find the problem yet. No prior phone of communication was made about this pr not even a oh we would like to keep your car another night to find out more on yoir car they pretty much was assuming I was leavingit a second night. So I left it again & wasn't told until another 24 hrs later that it was a phantom problem & no error codes could be found & it worked just great for them when they drove around abit with my wipers on.I was already upset from no communication except for when I called them, & then to find out I was getting charged $105 to be told that ? Nothing more than I already new? I mean I was willing to pay something of course but not much information as to what I really was charged for & told nothing of the problem the cause of it or why. I was very upset. They then told me they would have to catch the problem when it happened? Why was I even charged then ? I won't go here again or just throw my money away to some place that never even checked my electrical wires, or anything more that could be wrong. Just because there's no error codes to go off of, it doesn't mean there isn't a problem. So to catch the problem I'd have to hope they could get me in and see it as its happening? Because a visual isn't good enough? Or I have to waste $105 each time I need them to see it ? I don't think so. Was expecting more professionalism & definitely lacked it, disappointed also in the lack of communication with my car having to stay longer than anticipated also but its what ever. They can keep my money for hardly any work done, must of been the easiest $105 ?!made that day, maybe thats how they earn their money ? Sincerely disappointed & feeling ripped off. Never going here again.

They are HONEST. They always do a good job. One of the jobs they did for me cost almost $600 but Berger's wanted almost $3000.

I took my car in with a few issues and they were very honest with the price. They notified me that it was much worse than I thought and we determined it wasn't worth fixing due to the age of my car and my higher mileage. I truly appreciated their honesty!

Excellent group of mechanics that will fix your vehicle up in no time! Very nice and knowledgeable, affordable pricing and great customer service. Would and have sent friends here for repairs along with my own vehicle. Honestly never even heard of anyone that has anything negative to say about this place. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. These guys are absolutely great!! They do not nickel and dime you, and they are very honest with their work and recommendations. Had some exhaust work done, and I thought it would take them 3-4 days, judging by how many cars were in the parking lot...nope...done the next day in the afternoon. I was very impressed...price was as quoted with no additional "surprises" in the repair...I found my forever repair place...Thanks to all at Thomson's!!!

They worked on my 2015 Corolla. Provided multiple quotes for me very fast and completely free. Was expecting a tie rod issue and they were honest and upfront about it only being a VERY minor tire rounding issue. New tires over the weekend and a really solid alignment adjustment. My car has never driven this well even since I got it from the dealer. Thanks again guys, I'll be recommending you to everyone I know.Cheers,-Happy as hell customer

In the past, I have found that the cost of their services is very reasonable compared to other car maintenance shops in the area.My car broke down on a Sunday evening due to low coolant levels. I towed my car to Thomson s and early Monday morning I received a call that my car was ready for pick up. I am so appreciative of them fitting me in at the last minute. And they got the work done so fast! I will always bring my car here.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had an alignment, brake pads and rotors and tie rods. After repairs car was still pulling, brakes went all the way to the floor and barely stopped the car. Brought my car back a 2nd time and rode with the mechanic, he agreed the car was not properly aligned "but we're really busy" was the excuse. As if being busy was a reason to not do the work fully and properly. Asked several times to have the manager/owner call me and he never did.Services: Wheel alignment, Brakes

We took our van in when we were on vacation. We picked this auto shop because it had good ratings and it was close by. They did right by us, got the problem fixed, and we never had problems with it again. They are doing the regular maintenance for us on our daughter's car, since she lives in the gr area. Always good to find an auto shop that knows what they are doing and is trustworthy!

Took are car there for a timing belt replacement. Our service was outstanding along with the price we were quoted so glad we chose this shop for our repairs. The staff were outstanding along with keeping me posted on the work. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone who needs repairs done to their vehicles very honest shop. Will definitely be back if repairs are needed on my car again. Thank you for your outstanding service !@

I did not appreciate how I was treated. I didn't appreciate how my vehicle was treated. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.Update: you probably don't remember because "the owner is on vacation." Long story short, left my car there for them to take a peek at what was going wrong with it, supposedly nothing was wrong with it, I go to pick it up, radiator fluid spews all over a conveniently just cleaned parking lot. Yeah you probably don't remember me paying 400 bucks for them to "fix" THAT. Probably could have sued, but it's my own fault for trusting this place to examine my vehicle without taking a day off work. Oops. Car still has the original problem but now I trust no one.

Good service, they inform you of needed repairs and always communicate well about the repair and cost so you can make informed decisions about what to fix and why it needs fixed. I have used them two times and each time has been a good overall experience. We will continue to use them for all our car service needs.

I was having transmission issues with an older vehicle of mine, and some very friendly technicians were able to get it in and get me a diagnosis. They were very good about getting in touch with me to update me on where they were at or before making any additional changes that would cost me extra.

Very fast service and great price. I had an extra issue and they called me to ask about fixing it instead of assuming I wanted it fix. I will also take my other car for service in the future. The guys also has great customer service.

My dad swears by this place and has for over 20 years. He takes every car that he owns there, along with my mom's cars for everything that needs to be done. I've only taken 1 car there but I was extremely happy with both the quality and speed of their work. I would recommend Thompson's to anyone.

Very nice people. Even when their busy they still made time to fit my car in today. They were honest and found more problems then I brought it in for. Looked out for my safety. Thank you for helping me in my time of need! Bob is a great guy! He's the only one I talked to on the phone!
