Firstly I'd like to say that I greatly appreciate them helping me out with my alternator. I had already purchased it and when I found out how much work was involved I knew it was too much for me. They agreed to do the work with my part and charge me a decent rate for labor. But after I had gotten the work done and picked it up a few days later it started snowing here. And when I used my wipers for the first time I noticed they weren't acting properly. The passenger side one was falling off the edge of the window and sometimes they would meet in the middle and cross over each other. Especially at higher wiper speeds. So I went back to ask him about it and they were on vacation. So I waited until Monday and I took it back and I said hey you know my windshield wipers aren't acting right since you did that work. And he informed me that they hadn't touched that(which seemed odd as every instructional video said the wiper motor and reservoir had to be removed one of the reasons I decided I wasn't able to do it) and it would be he didn't know how long to diagnose the problem because my car was known for that. So I left kind of in a huff that they wanted to charge me to diagnose and fix something that wasn't there before. The next day I noticed while putting windshield wiper fluid in that two of the screws holding the wiper motor mount to the bracket aren't there.(see picture) So I diagnosed it in about 2 minutes. The day after I found that out I went to replace the screws with screws I had bought and I realized the reason they hadn't put them back is because they broke them off. So I had to return those screws and buy self tappers. So with a drill bit and two self tapping screws I fixed it and my windshield wipers worked great. I fixed it in about 10 minutes and I wonder why they couldn't have done something similar. So if you find something a little off after a repair it may be something similar.

Ron is great and very sweet! They won t try to get over on you here, they do honest work in a reasonable time frame compared to most shops. He s very transparent when diagnosing and won t break your pockets for the heck of it!I ve been coming here for a couple years for any vehicle issues and will continue to do so.

Amazing people, fair prices, and quick turn around. Thanks to their after hours form and drop box, I was able to have my car towed to the shop at 10pm. I received a phone call the next morning with a diagnosis and estimate. By 4pm I was on the road again. Absolutely would recommend.

Russ & Ron s offers extremely reliable service. They are always honest and out to help their customer, not just price gouge to grab a cheap buck. Turnarounds are very quick and you can tell they re very hard workers. A great and trustworthy garage.

took in my car at 7:30 am even though they open at 8 and they were there ready to help me get my car back on the road. I've been there before for a new alternator and they did it for 300$ less than I was being charged at other places. they did it within one day and i were able to get me my car a few hours later. these are the guys I truly trust to take care of my cars.Services: Tires, Brakes, Auto maintenance

After looking around a bit for a reliable place to go for auto repairs, I settled on Russ & Ron's. Dropped off Tue night and was done Thur morning. They were polite, kind, and honest. I trust them now, bringing more work their way.

I was in a bind and had to use Russ and Ron s because I suspected issues with my alternator after getting the battery replaced. They checked and everything was fine. But 5 stars for getting me in quickly before the holiday weekend and for being so understanding and kind! Definitely will be returning for servicing.Service: ElectricalService: Electrical

The place was nice enough to go for a ride to help me figure out what was wrong with my 2015 chevy trax. They even lifted up on the hoist and told me it was safe to drive. As I'm going 70mph down the highway, my tire basically comes off my car all five lugnuts laying on the highway. Safe to drive ha yeah right. Lucky it wasn't worse as I lost all control of my vehicle and the braking system. Then I proceeded to call them after the fact and basically told me there was nothing they could help me with, after they told me it was safe to drive.

First time here, highly recommended.Very friendly, honest, and definitely fair priced. Got there a little past 9am today for rotor, caliper, and brake pad replacement.Called me about an hour after saying my caliper is totally good so they'd knock $50 bucks off to replace everything else. Was done in 3 hours.

Great bunch of guys, extremely helpful, honest, did great work to my vehicle. Left it with them for a few days replaced a radiator and alternator. I was impressed how they got right on it, I feel the price was reasonable for both jobs. Good bunch of guy's! Thanks again . Will go back!

This place is my #1 go-to for any repairs. If you are like me, the idea of having to get a car fixed sends waves of financial panic to your bank account. This place is ALWAYS reasonably priced, and don't gouge you in the least. They are no frills, and they are very willing to offer options that fit your budget if they can. They always try to give you a loaner if you've been a long time customer. I live 1.5 miles away, and one time one of the mechanics offered to drive me home while they worked on it. Honest, fair, competent, pleasant. I have been having my cars serviced there for 35 years and am usually satisfied with the work done. They do not have the capability of a dealership, but I trust them more and their prices are relatively reasonable. They are extremely accommodating and helpful. This is the place for "little old ladies" to come for honest service that does not seek to rip them off. Over the years I have seen them offer to help all those who come in, from a soft tire to a clank in the engine. These are exceptionally good-hearted, well-intentioned, honest men. I am very picky and quite demanding; I expect a business to know their business and perform it correctly. I have been a customer there for 35 years because they do well within their sphere of service and have always treated me right. Russ and Ron are certainly worth a try the next time you need service.

This is the only shop we will use and trust that the repairs are done correctly and in a timely fashion. I highly recommend them to anyone. Ron is awesome and so are all the mechanics. I absolutely appreciate the service, quality work, and honesty I receive here. When I was getting some repairs done, I also mentioned that Tuffy previously told me that I needed my control arm bushings replaced and if they could take a look. They informed me that I did not need them replaced. For the repairs that I was having done, they called me and stated what the worse case scenario would be. I told them to go ahead with the repair. Afterwards, Ron called and said that he did not have to replace all the parts, which saved me 100s of dollars. I truly believe many places would not be honest like that. Thank you!

These guys are AWESOME. VERY knowledgeable and honest to the core. Their expertise shows in the work they do. Their prices are the lowest I've ever seen and the owners are down to earth and very approachable. Just don't indicate to Russ that you know more than him about cars!!!! He'll talk your ear off! He's a master mechanic with over 40 years of experience.

Great Service!!! I was stranded on the highway when I call them. They suggested a tow service and were ready for us when we arrived. I had a broken ball joint, and they had it fixed in about 6 hours for just over $200 including the tow!!! It was very fast and affordable service! Friendly too!! Would use them again in a heartbeat!

These guys got my car in on Thursday, dropped it off at 8am and it was looked at, they called me around 10:30am to confirm the price and the work. The car was done by 3! Impressive to say the least!

They are that rare and unique breed of mechanic : honest, respectable and reliable. My car broke down when I was visiting Grand Rapids. It was the weekend so I ended up taking it to the nearby pep boys, who of course proceeded to over estimate, price gouge and make my life a living hell. The estimate from them was around 500 dollars plus 100 diagnostic (aka looking under the dang car) 50 towing and labor to fix the front broken axle, and they also told me it could be an additional 3000 plus if it was transmission, which they conveniently could not tell until I was done fixing the axle. Frustrated, I called Russ and Rons when they opened Monday. Ron basically towed the car, replaced the axle and allowed me to leave the car there for a week until I could pick it up, all for 280. He also assured me it's just the axle and the transmission is fine. I cannot say enough good things about this place, they are the real deal. Only wish they were located closer to where I live, cause I would take my car here for everything.

Excellent customer service and very thorough, I got a great deal on the work they did and they even gave me a loaner free of charge while they were working on my car. I would 100% recommend this shop to anyone who needs to get some work done.

They replaced the rear end on my Dodge Ram. Awesome people and good prices! Ron is very friendly and knows his stuff. I recommend this place for sure, plus there honest folks!

I used to go to Russ & Rons back in the mid 2000s with my 1993 Cadillac Eldorado and that thing literally had nothing but problems. I did love that car though and Russ & Ron's kept it going for me through the years and I do appreciate their honesty and genuinity. I now live in Indianapolis and cannot use them but if you live in the Grand Rapids area and need mechanic work, look no further than Russ & Ron's as they will treat you right and stand behind their work. I am actually surprised to see them still alive and well.

Went there to get new brakes. When we picked the car up the car would not break, we almost got in an accident. It was closing time when they finished so they probably just wanted to get the car out of their shop. We immediate turned around, they didn t even ask what was wrong, just grabbed the keys and pulled the car back in. They knew it was an issue even before we left, they just wanted to go home.
