Stopped in for air in my tire as my light popped on. I believe his name is J is kind, knowledgeable, and efficient.Only gets 4 stars because the lady behind the counter was on her phone and took a bit to acknowledge me. Which is fine. I was thankful for the fast service thereafter!

10 out of 10.JR did all my work. We did a full custom install of 2.5" all the way from the cat. He was a very focused & careful worker, and asked for my input several times to make sure it was what I wanted. I brought my own muffler & tip, so he wanted the placement to be perfect & it definitely was. All of his welds were very clean & he made sure everything was 100% tight before he sent me on my way. He was friendly & talkative while working, which was really nice. He also made the extra effort to clean/wipe everything down before I pulled out.Lindsay was the manager who checked me in and out as well. She was very nice & didn't mind me hovering / watching my install. Definitely a cool group here that makes you feel like a person & not just another customer. She was really fair about pricing & taking care of my needs, while maintaining a price that's also fair to her shop.Phenomenal people & great work here. Will definitely return for future work + recommend them to any others out looking for quality exhaust work!

I have found my new go to shop.Upon meeting David at the front counter and Esai shortly after, I truly felt like these guys were good honest people.Not only did they beat their original estimate, they provided that service in short order.Compliments to the owner Lindsey for running such a fine local business with fantastic employees.Thanks again for saving the day for my daughter.

My experience was great. I went for a pre purchase inspection on a used car. He looked at the vehicle for free. I was very fortunate that I chose to call this muffler man. The vehicle I had inspected was leaking from one end to the other. He saved me $4,000. How do u thank someone enough. He wouldn't even accept a tip. He didn't charge me for his time, he just saw a need & he met it without any gain for himself. To me thats my new guy. I live an hour away & I'll be going back there for all my work. A truly honest mechanic. Ty ty ty. You Rock!!!!

At least 3 times I brought my car here and they charged me significantly less than the original quote because a significant repair wasn t needed after inspection.Obviously I can t guarantee this will happen to you, but you can trust that they aren t going to do a full repair if it isn t needed. Each time they could have done more work and charged more money but they did the right thing instead of the purely business thing. Which is why I m a returning customer and why you should check them out.

I had a really good experience here. The manager and mechanic were very helpful. They explained everything that needed to be done. My car is super quiet now and no exhaust leaks any more. Thank you

The guys working there really nice do a good job the owner seems to think in my opinion that telling a customer what they want to hear is better than just telling the truth. I was told several times oh car is being looked at first thing in the morning. That wasn't true or it will be done at end of the day that wasn't true either. I was fine with it taking a week could have just said that not give me false hope. Other than that nice place once again the guys working there were great vot my custom exhaust just how I wanted it.

The best car shop experience I've ever had. Stopped in with an appointment. The receptionist was awesome and took care of everything. She ordered my muffler, made sure I was OK with the cost, and the mechanics had me out of there in an hour with a new muffler. I was floored. She quoted me $222 on the phone and it ended up being $180. Muffler is quiet and I am as happy as can be! They charged me 1/2 hour for a welded muffler! Awesome work too!

Very honest and got me in with no wait time for an inspection. Very helpful and everyone there was super nice to us! I would definitely recommend using them if you're not happy with big dealership techs who just want your vehicle to break first and then they fix it. Went in for inspection and when they were done, they didn't even charge me! I will never take my vehicles anywhere else! And I have been a big dealership guy for years! Owner wad amazing! Techs were amazing! And very thorough during inspections!

THEY / LYNDSEY WILL BEAT YOU OUT YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. I LOST $165. Playing games with my power steering, 1st it was the power steering line needs replacement,then it changed to it just need to be tighten. Now today it's you need a new power steering pump & line. I was told by other shops that I needed my whole exhaust replaced, and I was mentally prepared to spend around $1500 to fix it. Went in to get a quote, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear it would just need some welding. Less than $200 later I was good to go. Everyone I spoke with was great and they all deserve a raise! Definitely plan on coming here again if need be.

We were able to get right in and so far so good with the muffler. I had no idea just how bad it was getting. The lady at the front desk was efficient and friendly. The pricing seemed very reasonable and they had a discount for paying cash!

Called on Wednesday the 23rd Lindsey had me set up for an appointment the next day, brought in my car with both my kids needless to say even though my son wasn't acting the best, they had my car in and out within an hour and now she's a whole new car ! I'd recommend them to anyone. Very pleased with the fastness and quality. She even put on cartoons for my son when we got there even though he didn't really care for it because he was in a new area and wanted to do everything but sit down ! Muffler Man was great! I came in with my muffler falling off and they fixed it in under an hour and for a reasonable price. I felt valued and I knew they were not trying to rip me off. Management was kinda absent. Had a huge German shepherd in the waiting room that was kind of annoying, following me around and bothering my daughter.Didn t really make any effort to diagnose/inspect my vehicle.

David and Esai were super helpful and informative getting my car together. My car issues were explained in a way that translated understandably to someone who doesn't speak mechanics. It was greatly appreciated. The sweet, pretty rep with blue eyes (I don't know her name) but she's a woman was very helpful and assisted me in scheduling and squeezing where possible. Itr's also a sight for sore eyes to see ladies in an environment dominated by men, you go girl ! Staff, you are appreciated and I thank you!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Went in for my muffler and so far so good. After my hideous situation with tuffy I'm thankful to find someone who actually knows how to do their job.Today I went back to muffler Man and once again beautifully got my car taken care of explain to me what it was and I was happy with the cost. If you've got problems I don't believe they do tires, but otherwise I would hit up muffler Man on Plainfield right above or below depending on which way you're you're crossing Leonard

I brought my car to Muffler Man after being quoted close to $1,500 somewhere else to replace my entire exhaust system. Lindsey was absolutely wonderful to work with, super personable, upfront and honest. Carl pulled my car in, checked it, brought me in to look at the problem and explained why the Flex Pipe Assembly needed to be replaced, as well as a sleeve in the rear (not the whole exhaust system). In the end I paid less than half of the quote from the other place and didn t have to have unnecessary parts replaced. I appreciated the honesty and they were able to do it while I waited, 1-1/2 hours later I left with a quiet car!Thank you Lindsey and Carl!Service: Exhaust

I had a great experience at this shop. They saved me a lot of money with their willingness to repair my exhaust system instead of completely replacing it. They were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend.

Took my car in to get serviced the fixed the muffler. Problems arose a few days later with the exhaust. Took it back in and they claim to have missed the hole and would need an additional 150 to fix a problem I already paid 400 to be fixed. Will need to go elsewhere to get it done right the first time it seems.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

I called for a quote, and James said go ahead and bring it down for them to take a look. I went over and a job that had been quoted at 500 by numerous other mechanics they were able to pull off at wayyyy less and saved me a lot of money. All in under an hour from the time I called to when I drove away. Melvin did a great job, and my exhaust system is probably in better condition now than when I bought th car. (Used) I do most of my own maintinence but will be going here for anything my car needs that I can't do in the future. Would definitely recommend this team.Service: Exhaust

Absolute worst place I've had the displeasure of working with. I was quoted one day and 250$ for a replacement alternator, ended up with my car stuck there for over a week straight with them promising every single day "oh it'll be done tomorrow for sure." They then told me when I was finally able to get my car, that they had to cut through the AC to get to the alternator, okay fine, but then they told me I needed to come BACK and pay 75$ for them to fix what they broke. Again, whatever. I go to leave and my car won't start, they triggered a system theft that left my car unable to start. They couldn't figure out how to start it back up again and I was able to google it and get my own car started. I finally get home and think its all over and done with for my car to stall every single day, or die on me. They didn't even connect things completely and left my car stalling out as a result of it. I was able to tighten things and fix it myself. I went back again, told them all of this and they told me they would fix my AC. After paying to fix the AC they broke, it still did not work and doesn't still. They offered for me to come back but I will be going ANYWHERE else before I ever would come here again or reccomend it to anyone else.Service: Air conditioning

My car was making a lot of noise when idle and accelerating. I looked online for the problem and thought it would be the muffler since it was rusted and peeling. I took it to this place because of the good ratings on Google. Once I got there they lifted up the car and you could see a big hole in the muffler. It was too far gone to repair so just got a new. They just cut off the part and welded a new one in. It only took less than 10 minutes. While doing the paper work it was all done and the new part came with a lifetime warranty. The price was much cheaper than the price that I read it would cost online. Steve the owner was very helpful and completed the repair in no time flat. Even gave me a discount because I was a first time customer. Great service would have took much longer at another place and cost much more. If you have any muffler problems this is the place to go.

Dave and Bob are great! The tailpipe on my 02 Dodge ram came off and they replaced my muffler and welded my factory tail pipe back on at my request. They also did all the extra work that I asked them without hesitation (even though I was just a drop in with no appointment) Their work was good and Dave is a very competent welder (I'm a mechanic and a welder so I would know). What stuck me was their price! Best around. I will be back.

We were pleasantly surprised with our overall experience with the Muffler Man at 1246 Plainfield. They were courteous, professional, and honest. They also made the repairs at a much lower cost than other estimates we got. I will definitely go back to them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Thank you so very much! You made my day! By rear brake rotors broke completely on my way to bring my daughter to Helen Devos hospital for an appointment. After dropping my wife and daughter off this morning I brought our only vehicle to you to get fixed. Not only did you do a complete brake job, rotors, calipers and bearings for the rear but you did it spur of the moment with only a half hour notice and finished it by the end of the day!
