Ralph, the auto mechanic who worked on my truck, was extremely professional on the phone and when installing the necessary parts I needed to get me back safely on the road. In addition, he found a way fit me in to do the work immediately! Thank you so much!!

I noticed my rear brakes grinding, and I am constantly traveling so it was imperative I had them done immediately. Ken worked with me swiftly and my vehicle was in and out the same day. Thank you for everything. I appreciate your help!Service: BrakesService: Brakes

I called Alpine location told them the kind of car (older car) they said sure bring it in I had it towed there. After about a week I had to call then after another week they did nothing. I am trying to understand if you don't work on certain cars tell me that don't waste my time having it towed there just for you to decide two weeks later you don't want to work on the car. And still charged me for looking at it but did nothing.NOTE: update I am not sure how this review process is suppose to work but I got a response back from owner now I have info for the owner but no one is responding. Starting to look like there communication is as bad as the service.

I was in a jam and the manager Ken got me in, was able to fit my car on the lot and get my vehicle fixed by next day. No mess. No fuss. Very fair. Didn't "find"things wrong with my vehicle. Very friendly and great service.

People beware they overcharge a lot for parts and do minimul work. They took advantage of me being a female. And i went to get it inspected to make sure they did the work and I showed a 5star mechanic place receipts and information on what they did etc saying that for little work they #$%/* In the ars. And were stunned on what they charged me with! You guys should be ashamed I'll never be coming back and I'll be sure to never recommend anyone to lentz auto. I'll be sure to never use ur services. What a sham/scam.I have record would you guys like a picture of a receipt? And is that all u guys have to say. SMH. Foul.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection

I took my car for repair because it was making loud sound. They told me it was the converter that needs replacement which they replaced and I was charged $620. I went to pick the car and there was no change in the loud sound that I complained about initially. The Manager then told me the loud sound was probably not the converter problem and acknowledged it was his fault that he could have diagnosed the car before assuming it was a converter issue. I asked them what they could do for me because I can't spend $620 for nothing and he said he will explain the issue with the owner and he will give me a call. I waited for days for the owner to call me and they kept promising he will until I went to the shop and refused to leave. The owner called me on my phone with a hidden number, he made a false claim about the issue and harassed me to leave his shop or he will charge me for trespassing. I was so embarrassed and surprised that people who provide service to the public would behave like that. I even suggested they remove their converter from my car and refund my money but he said they won't do that. I had to just leave and let their conscience judge because that attitude of the owner was a dubious one. Why did they refuse to give me his number and why did he call me with an hidden number if he has nothing to hide. The Manager named Ken was nicer because he took responsibility for his fault but the owner only cares about money and was very rude.

Lentz is my go-to car shop. Ken, the owner, is always extremely kind and provides very fair prices. I took my car to a random oil change place and they said I needed a new oil pan and it would be ~$1,000. I took it to Ken, who I trust, and he confirmed I needed a new oil pan. He completed it in a timely manner and it was only $770. GREAT GUY!!!

Was having problems with my brakes on my car. Took my car to Lentz on Michigan street and the manager Brian and the guys were very friendly. They wrote me an estimate for the work that needed to be done and took me out to show me the problems that my car had. after looking at my car i could tell that it was unsafe to drive! They fixed my brakes in a timely fashion for a very reasonable price. I even called around to check there prices and they were one of the lowest. After leaving my brakes were 100% better!! those guys are great and i will always return. I also learned that they do full service repairs on almost every thing on the vehicle. I recommend Lentz for anybody that wants there vehicle fixed right the first time!!!!

I've been a customer here for 5+ years and I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else! The service is fantastic and they're always so thorough with explaining what they're going to do with my vehicle. The manager, Brian, is absolutely amazing! Always has a smile on his face and just the best! Grand Rapids has a great establishment here! Keep up the great work, guys!

Used Lentz for the first time a few weeks ago for some exhaust issues. Service was quick and less expensive than I thought it would be. They repaired my car in a little over 24 hours. Definitely will be returning.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

Over the years I have worked with many automobile repair facilities and must say this is one of the BEST! Until today have never used Lentz Auto Repair and I must say Ken has been absolutely AWESOME to work with. My daughter attends Grand Valley State University and had some heating issues with her car...this place rocks! Ken worked with her and was relentless in finding out what was wrong...thank you Ken and staff! We have a new go to car repair facility in Grand Rapids to use.

Excellent customer service! Went in to get my Ford Escape checked out due to the engine overheating and Brian, the manager, explained to me exactly what he believed to be the problem and also looked into some additional issues I was concerned about. Super friendly and they don't talk down to you like other repair shops I have been too. Although they weren't able to fix the problem in-house due to it being a Ford specific issue that can only be fixed at a dealership, they didn't even charge me for running the diagnostics tests. I've been charged over $100 in the past just to have someone look at the car and tell me something I already know is wrong with it. Will definitely be taking my vehicle here for any future maintenance.

This is my main mechanic. I go to this shop for everything! They've always been very honest and upfront with prices and I haven't once felt like I'd been ripped off. I recently had a windshield wiper issue they had worked on previously and they managed to resolve it again free of charge. Very happy with this shop.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Always a great experience with the team at Lentz Auto! From start to finish, communication is there. Brian, the shop manager is fun to work with and professional. Always with enthusiasm and excitement. Brad is efficient and priced right, while getting the job done right! If you haven't had a chance to check them out, be sure to do so!

After having costly front end repairs to my jeep at another repair shop, something was really wrong. I stopped in and was greeted by Brian, the manager. What a great guy, a true asset to Lentz, and to myself. Apparently the shop that overcharged me did not tighten new parts they installed. Without hesitation, they quickly tightened everything up. They also checked to make sure nothing was damaged. Needless to say, this is my new place for car repairs. Thank you Brian and Lentz.

My Son dropped his entire exhaust system on Monday night. We went to drop the car off, and Lentz on Mich was already closed. I looked in and saw someone cleaning up and knocked on the door. Brian Small, the manager, opens up and let us drop the parts in the garage instead of leaving them outside. He was very friendly, and even thou it was late, he really made us feel important. The car was fixed the next afternoon, on price and on time. Thanks Brian.

Came in on a Sat morning with hopes that I could get someone to take a look at my car. Normally, I head to my dealership in the Lansing area for repairs, but I was worried because my maintenance light turned on. I walked in and met Brian, the manager, and he gladly said he was able to help me! Great customer service and friendly staff. So happy I could find a great auto repair shop that I can trust so close to where I live now!

I had a great first contact with the shop. I came in with what could have been a disaster on my car. They made the repairs, were exceptionally fair on the price, kept me informed of the repairs status, and were friendly and knowledgeable. I intend to start using them more regularly.

These days, its hard to find reasonable car servicing that doesn't put you in the poor house. I recently went to Lentz to have my leaking oil pan replaced and girded myself to pay a lot. Previously, I had been quoted at a competitor $400 just for the pan alone! Lentz replaced the pan and gave the car an oil change (with new filter) all for just under $500 - which included labor!Brian and the technicians there are super knowledgeable and always give it to you straight :)

I've taken my 2007 Pathfinder here several times as it's close to work. Everytime I've been satisfied with the cost and the work but didn't think anything special of it. Last week I took my car in as I was told by the 10 minute oil change place that my oil sending unit needed repair as it was leaking. So off for repair it went. Fortunately it didn't end up needing any work - seems to have been a much easier fix and after some cleaning all was well. I'm writing this as it's not often you take your car in and they call to tell you it in fact doesn't need repair. For all the bad reputations auto repair places have I was very pleasantly surprised that they did not perform unneeded work and in fact that didn't even charge for the clean up work they had done. Will definitely be back for the next inevitable repair as well as will recommend to anyone who asks!

I installed outer tie rod ends on my 2004 Toyota Camry (a job I had done on this car before) and brought it in for an alignment. They told me they were not installed correctly and that I should have had the work done with them. When I asked what was wrong, the manager Brian stated "something was loose" but would not give me any more details when I asked. They would not perform the alignment, but proceeded to charged me 56$ to "check my suspension". I then took my Camry to another shop for an alignment and they told me the tie rods were installed correctly and proceeded to do an alignment (for less than what Lentz quoted me). I believe the manager Brian took advantage of me for trying to save money and do some of the work myself. When I called back to inform them that another shop confirmed that I had installed the part correctly, the manager Brian became defensive and raised his voice with me stating "it was loose, that's the bottom line!" I would not recommend giving this shop your business.

I took in my 2015 rav4 to get my 2 front brake pads and rotors replaced, after inspection they call and tell me both calipers are "fused together" and need to be replaced. Bringing the cost of the job from around $400 to $800. Knowing the symptoms of stuck calipers I called their BS and took the $67 hit for the inspection charge. I immediately brought my car next door to another shop where they inspected it and told me that my calipers work perfectly and only my pads and rotors need replaced. Meanwhile prior to me being serviced here at lentz, I witnessed them attempt to charge a lady $400 to replace an old battery.Needless to say, save yourself time and money and do not go here to get work done. They will take your problems and amplify them by telling you things need replaced that do not.Service: Brakes

I began taking my 2003 Corolla here when the dealer stopped being happy to service it. These guys are honest, helpful, and courteous. This week they took the time to help us decide to fix or replace it. They are interested in service not sales! Thank you!

Last Saturday was my 2nd service @ Lentz Michigan Street in 1 1/2 years with my 7 year old Nissan. I couldn't be more comfortable recommending a service garage. Manager Brian is easy to work with, communicates well particularly with estimates. He doesn't engage in 'upsell' or 'oversell'. Their work has been dependable and the pricing seems fair. I trust them.

I recommend them to anyone. Good service, great customer service. Close to our house so can walk after a drop off. Been going for several years and always happy with price. Plus never waited more than 1 or 2 days to get vehicle back. My oldest has used them and she has been happy as well. Thank you, Lentz, for several years of satisfied service.

I've been taking my car here since the Saturn/Suburban dealership shut down and I could no longer get my Saturn serviced there. Brian, the manager, is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Every time I've called them I've been able to get my car in that day, if not almost immediately after getting off the phone with them. Several times I've taken it in for things that turned out to be small and he ended up not even charging me for them. He said "That's one of the perks of being manager--I can make decisions like that." :-) Another nice thing about their location is that the Grand Coney is right across the street so you can go grab a bite to eat or something to drink while you're waiting if you can't leave while your car is being worked on. And the best thing is that they're only .2 miles from our house :-) Thank you Brian and crew for being there when people really need you.

Brought my vehicle in as it was making a loud noise related to the exhaust after hitting a pothole. The car is 12 years old, so I assumed something had come loose due to the jarring. I was told there was a broken clamp, and a hole in the resonator. That the repairs would be over $1600 and that they couldn't replace just the clamp and resonator everything had to be replaced so they had to replace the muffler too. After pricing out parts and researching that the resonator could be replaced on its own I decided to take the vehicle to another shop for a second opinion. The other shop looked at the vehicle only found the broken clamp, welded a new clamp and pipe on and was done for $100 in less than an hour.
