I stopped by to get an estimate after an Amazon driver hit my car and damaged the entire passenger side. Initially, I was frustrated because I was told on the phone that no appointment was needed, but when I arrived, I was told otherwise. However, Matt P was kind enough to take care of it on the spot! I'm grateful for his help and can't wait to get my car fixed.

They were able to remove and reseal my windshield that another shop failed at. I specifically asked them to replace the molding that the other shop broke. They ordered and replaced the wrong part (the cowl that didn't need replacement) and tried to glue together the piece that actually was broken instead of admitting their mistake and getting the correct part. I ordered and replaced the part myself instead of dealing with them any further.

Currently, a one star for poor communication on Al Serra's part. IF you call ahead to let them know the car is going to be towed AND IF they schedule an appointment, it doesn't mean you actually have an appointment. It could still be a week or more before your car gets "written in" to be seen by a technician. Apparently, the Business Development Center just schedules appointments, even for tows, which doesn't mean your car will be seen.Update: Al Serra has my car for a total of 10 days. The car was delivered on a Tuesday and had an appointment on Thursday, which they didn t honor. We moved the car to Auto Pride Collision the following Friday. Estimate received by insurance Monday. Car should be done next week! AVOID SERRA BODY SHOP AT ALL COSTS!!

Took my car there for body work. I received my car back with a loose bumper cover. I returned my car to have it corrected. They acknowledged they had broken a bracket, and at that time they had to "order the part."Two months later I called to ask what's taking so long to get the bracket and they hadn't ordered anything. They eventually got the part in and I took my car back. Once again, i received the vehicle back un fixed. I went back into the building and they said they ordered the wrong part... Acted like it was all done and fixed when they gave me my keys though! Whatever. Again they "ordered the right part."It's been another three months so I called to see whats taking so long this time... They said, they will check and "call me right back." No call back, of course. I was then told to leave a message with the manager because "they always return phone calls," PSH. No return phone call...Called again and they said the part was in transit, should be in any time. Now it's been another 1.5 months and still no call. I left another message. They're never getting this done. Would highly NOT recommend this place.

Took my vehicle in for an estimate because of front end damage by striking an animal. Got the estimate and it was high enough to justify opening an insurance claim. I opened the claim and emailed the adjuster estimate to Al serra's body shop. They called me a few days later and I made an appointment for 5 weeks from then to get the vehicle repaired. They said they would work with the insurance company to get the job supplemented as the original insurer estimate didn't cover the damages. They also said they had to order the parts. 5 weeks later I take the car in to get the repairs to find out that they haven't contacted the insurance company at all, there are no parts there, and the car won't be getting repaired today. The person in the body shop I sent the estimate to says he never received the email even though it's in my sent folder. So now we get to wait another five or so weeks to see if they can get it right this time. Thanks Al serra, for a big fat nothing.

Called and left a message and still haven't received a call back in regards to work that was done on my car. The insurance claim was closed. They got their money and yet there's a part that still needs to be fixed and I haven't heard back from AL Serra

ZERO STARS! My car was damaged from a hail storm and took it here to get repaired because 1. it was out the area that the storm was so I was told they could get my car in to quickly repair it. 2. It is the same dealership place I leased my car from so might as well take it to them. A huge mistake! I took it in at end of July and said it would get looked at July 27. Weeks went by no communication. Called every week to check on it and was told it would be ready the following week. My insurance only paid for a rental for 4 weeks and was promised it would be done by then. Here we are at 7 weeks and still NO CAR!! I've been lied to countless times, told several stories of when to expect my car, what the hold up is, and so on. Had to call so many times to find out things, left several messages and finally went down there IN person to get the truth of why I still don't have my car. Worst customer service and worst place to take your vehicle.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

Well, while on vacation I had someone back into me and hits my left front fender not leaving a note or information then on the right side I had people open their doors 4 times at the condo we were staying at. So when I got home I took it in to get the damage repaired. Al Serra Subaru offered dent protection at a cost with deductible coverage which I decided to purchase, & it paid off the dents were taken care of and I covered the balance of the cost of the repair. I ve also had two tires that have been replaced because of toad hazards. The repair came out great and looks great.I really like the work they do and as a bonus they cleaned the inside of the car and the Weathertech maps.Highly recommend their body shop

All I can say so far is that the estimate process was easy and professional. I will try to update after the repair.

Took my truck here for body work. They took my vehicle, and never called me to inform me it was going to be at least two weeks before they even look at it for a quote. I called several times, no one returned my phone call. I called a 4th time and told the person working I was coming in to get my vehicle. When I showed up, they didn t even care to go get it and bring it to me. I ll never take anything here for any kind of vehicle service ever again. Worst service in Genesee County.

Work was missed and incomplete, even after I took it back a second time. Car sat for 5 months at dealer waiting for cosmetic work.Once I got my car back.....tons of new problems. Especially a water pump thermostat. My car was only rotated 11 miles in 5 months. Definitely a correlation to the new problems I'm having. Newer mk7 gti only 90k miles.Zero help.

The crew at the Al Serra Body Shop is awesome!! Back in December I needed a minor repair on my right front passenger door. Yesterday one of my kids damaged my right side view mirror. David Jackson handled the door repair, and Brian Sugar handled the mirror repair. They did this and I wasn't charged!!!! Went back a couple days later and Kendrick Kirby did a minor repair while I waited!! Great staff here!!!

I hit a deer on October 1st and had my car towed to Al Serra because it was a AAA direct repair shop and the receptionist told me that "someone will look at your vehicle within 24-48 hours," which sounded great. Unfortunately no one contacted me until 6 days later just to tell me that they lost my key fob and to ask me if I would call the tow company to see where they put it. No updates. I had to give them my spare fob so I guess I'm down a fob now.I didn't get my estimate until October 24th, so the "24-48 hours" line was clearly a lie. They told me on that day that no parts were on backorder, and they would call me with an ETA once the parts were received.... It's November 26th and nobody has contacted me. I've called for updates a couple of times since then and they just tell me that they're still waiting on parts, even though they "weren't on backorder" so that was probably another lie.And they don't offer loaner vehicles. If you commit your car to this body shop, it will most likely be there for 2+ months with minimal communication, and if you have to commute everyday (like I do) then you'll have to rent a car at the Enterprise across the street for $30/day with the body shop discount. If they're that clogged up with repairs, they could've just been upfront with me, and I would've had my car towed to a different shop. I'm only writing this so that other people in my situation don't choose Al Serra for their repairs because it will be expensive and frustrating. Al Serra is probably just going to reply to this review with "I'm sorry about your experience, please email our customer service team."Service: Body & Trim

Even though the repair of my vehicle was done well, communication and ETA of my car getting done was an issue. I was initially told my car would take a week max, but it took 2 weeks with no updates from the body shop unless I called. With each call, I was told multiple different answers on when my car would be done. No one could give me a set answer. I was promised toward the end of the repair that my car would be done on set day, but when I called to see what time I could pick it up, they told me my car was still disassembled and it would be another 1-2 days. Once my car was done, they cleaned it, which was done poorly. I still had dust on my dash board and dirt throughout my floor. Due to lack of communication and no straight answer on when my car would have been done, I will not return the the body shop for future repairs.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

It was my first time using the body shop. I've always used the service department for oil changes etc. and have never had any issues. The body shop was the same experience. David Jackson the body shop advisor was fantastic through the whole process. Then when they took my truck to the service department for an oil change and brake pad/rotor replacement, James Phillip was super helpful in walking me through that process as I had some other maintenance issues that needed attention. When I picked up my truck I noticed that it washed and the inside front and rear floor mats were cleaned. The dashboard was cleaned too. I was totally surprised as I had no idea that was part of the process. Overall experience was great and would go back.Service: Body & Trim

Auto body shop did an excellent job repairing the front end damage on my 2021 Escalade sport after hitting a deer. The truck lights work even better than when I purchased it brand new. Thank you for an awesome job on Snowball

My vehicle was repaired by a different shop and back at my house before I even got a quote from here. But maybe they were just busy? I wouldn't think it would take multiple days to even take a look at the vehicle but I guess it does.

Need JEEP repaired after a deer "kissed" my right front fender. Deer ran off. Score Deer 1 Car 0.Service Tech "Triniti" was very friendly and explained the process very well. While photos were being taken and the estimate written I waited in the customer waiting area. A cup of coffee, watched some TV and in short order, the estimate was ready. They are to call me when the parts are in stock and work it to begin. They've repaired my vehicles in the past and I have always been more than satisfied.

I was warned by several people that Al Serra body shop does a terrible job with repairs and gives you your car back with many issues. I was also warned that they keep your car for 2-3 months after giving you an estimate of a few weeks. This was the case for me. My car was in a bad accident and while I didn't expect a speedy repair, it should not have taken two months. They continued to give me the runaround. After my car was in there for a month, I had to badger for a loaner. When I got there I was handed a form asking for my consent for them to start the repairs, when they had told me over the phone that repairs had been started. My life got put on hold because of this accident and Al Serra made it worse.

The service is excellent but the parts took forever. The problem is I didn't have rentals insurance and I really ended up spending a lot of money without having a car. The other problem was that there was no ballpark figure or any ETA. But the team members are very knowledgeable and respectful

My mother brought her car to have body work done. She had the parts ordered before she dropped the car off. They called and advised that all the parts were in and that it would take 3 days to make the repairs. She took the car in a couple of days after the parts were in so she should have gotten her car back 3 days later. I called at the end of the 3rd day and was told that the car wouldn't be ready for another 2 days. Despite asking several people, no explanation could be given as to why they needed 2 more days. No one at the body shop made any attempt to contact my mother and advise of the delay. She only found out because I called to check on the status. My mother purchased her car from Al Serra earlier this year and has been a loyal customer. I'm advising her to take her business elsewhere going forward.Service: Body & Trim

Steer clear My vehicle has been at this shop since July and no not due to anything pandemic related. This establishment has no idea how to service nor repair vehicle s. Upon picking up my vehicle notice multiple flaws in paint, brand new bumper not installed properly along with other parts, chipped paint on newly installed and painted parts, and missing bolts from frame. Had to leave vehicle twice in order for these issues to be rectified. On third occasion the shop submitted final claim to State Farm indicating vehicle was finished and picked up. Lies!!! it s still in there possession. Matter of fact I m still receiving alerts from Onstar regarding engine, transmission, and stability trax issues. Which indicates they still have it apart and is still working on it.Nor State Farm or myself can reach anyone in the shop. This place isn t suitable for any services or repairs. Matt Serra should fire the entire staff and stick to selling cars, because they suck!! at service s.Services: Transmission, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Painting, Electrical, Body & Trim, Air conditioning, Battery

I recently had my Suburban in for some collision repair. I had an excellent experience. The manager was professional and responsive. He even called after the repair to ensure that I was happy. The work was completed on time and it looks great! We have used this shop several times over the years and have always been happy with their service.

I've had three vehicles repaired at Al Serra Body Shop over the past 10 years. Two of the three cars were returned in disappointing condition. The latest vehicle had missing plastic rivets/pushpins in the wheel well liners, plastic molding around the windshield that was not fully installed, and the ACC radar unit that was not calibrated (aimed) properly. I understand that a repaired vehicle will never be as good as new but the issues I found and corrected myself were easily identified within a few minutes of receiving my repaired vehicle.

Pros: Free loaner car, fit of new parts is acceptable, finish is marginal as you can tell the shade of paint difference between what was repaired and what was original. And before you say it, no, the vehicle isn't old and faded - it is a 2014 model year Ford.Cons: Constantly in limbo with the free loaner car. Several different people calling to make sure it didn't go over the 2,000 mile limit, and apparently none of the people communicated with each other b/c we would get the same questions and give the same answers over and over again. Vehicle had to be sent out to a local Ford Dealer to be repaired after Al Serra could not get the vehicle systems back up and running again. Was told it would be a 2-3 day repair and took about 2 weeks. Also - body shop left new unused parts in the back of the vehicle. I still have the part. From the part number, it appears to be a bumper bracket that wasn't put back on. The bracket is for vehicles that did NOT have factory towing package, which my vehicle does not. It does have a trailer hitch installed, but it was installed after we purchased the vehicle. Since my vehicle should be equipped with this bracket, I can only conclude that they didn't put it back on, or that they ordered parts that they did not need. Also, the rear seat had to be dis-assembled and put back together correctly b/c whichever service personnel folded the seats down in the rear did so incorrectly. When the seat is put down incorrectly, there is a roller that becomes unlatched and the only way to get it to conform right is to take it apart. Marginal at best and would not return there for any service. And while it was great that the vehicle was washed before returned to us, it was not great to find that whoever washed it tore off a rubber bumper for our bug shield. It was nice of them to put it in the console (I sincerely do appreciate not having to find another one), however now I must spend my time to find some suitable adhesive to re-attach it, or I have to purchase a new kit from Ford. This bug shield was in place for some time with no issues, so I would guess maybe someone got a little too close with a power washer or something and blew it right off!

I had to leave vehicle two times for unsatisfactory work and then had to go back for inside cleaning. Technician had rubbing compound or some such substance all over my seats steering wheel and roof liner and an additional 30 miles. I purchased car from Al Serra and thought I was doing best thing for my one year old HRV. I wont be returning.

Al Serra released my car and neglected to put the skid plate back on. This error became a finger pointing situation with no one taking control of what to do next. As a woman I was getting the run around. Funny how when my husband called to repeat the same information my car was suddenly being fixed. A huge shout out to Abbey who is the only person there that truly values customer service.Service: Body & Trim

Overall not a great experience. The service nor repair were great. I had to get an estimate to send to the at-fault driver's insurance to recover my deductable under michigan's mini tort law. I repeatedly requested them to send me an email of it, which never came. I ended up having to run up there and get a copy, then scan it and save it as a pdf. All of which could have been avoided if they simply would have emailed the thing like they said several times after repeated calls(guess a $2000 repair didn't include that service). Then received the vehicle 2 to 3 weeks later and the edge of the quarter panel that was hit wasn't pulled out enough so it doesnt match the bumper cover. You would think that a dealership would hang the panels during the repair to assure alignment which is the typical repair procedure but they clearly didn't. At first I thought maybe they didn't receive the bumper cover(which was damaged on the edge under the taillight) so they had to repair without the ability to hang the cover but then looked at the repair bill and noticed the bumper cover wasn't changed... just repaired, so they had it the entire time. I would have preferred a new one but that was almost definitely state farm's call and not theirs. Either way we went there because they were affiliated with our insurance and well... it's a dealership so you would think it would be a little better. That just wasn't the case, would not recommend these guys to anyone. Don't be fooled just because it's a seemingly respectable dealership. Next time if ever needed I will try another place where I feel they will care about my vehicle and overall experience
