Recently had a change of travel plans that caused us to cancel our 2 night reservation at M22 Inn-Glen Arbor. Cancellation was 8 days prior to our scheduled arrival. Property's stated cancellation policy is 10 days or no refund. Shame on me for overlooking this. I had hoped that because our stay was in low season (February) we might not be on the hook for the entire 2 day charge...no luck. Cancel 10 days in advance or lose not just your deposit but all charges for all nights of your stay. Shame on M22 Inn!It's disappointing to see a small business in a small market with a policy like this that is certain to drive business away. We've vacationed in the Glen Arbor area for decades and are asked by friends/neighbors, from time to time, for lodging recommendations. We will not recommend the M22 Inn-Glen Arbor or any of the 3 other sister properties with the same policy.

Simple, clean and a great location. Everything you need for a base to explore the area. You can walk to restaurants and shops. A first was the remote check-in via text. In you need of anything - just text and they answered quickly. Finally a place that doesn't change sheets all the time! Plenty of towels and if not enough - just text! Side note - if you have a Tesla, Art's has a Tesla charger and Leelanau State Park has an EV charger too.

I just stayed at the M22 Inn for the first time, and definitely plan on returning again! The location was the absolute best and we enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, shops, and Lake Michigan! We hiked Sleeping Bear Dunes, which was a very short drive away. The rooms were also very clean and the checkin/checkout process was very easy.I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice, affordable place to stay in Glen Arbor.

This inn is definitely quaint and picturesque. The view and walkability is fabulous. Easy to book online and gives detailed response. It is a contact free check-in which is nice , but I m still on the fence about it. I did tell them I had young children, but was put on the second floor. The rooms are ok and I would have to say the biggest downfall of this inn. They are accommodating, but not as cozy as I would of liked. The bathroom is really small and a toilet that matches. There is plenty of essentials for your stay. The tv is very small with barely any volume. The town closes early so with littles we are stuck to the room. The carpet is way beyond need of replacement and gave the room a very musty smell. It is also on the stairway leading to the rooms. The beds were alright, but the comforter carries that same smell. The water which is not in their control smell absolutely disgusting. You can walk to all shops and restaurants and has very cool nearby park. It also has a grocery spot and places to relax in town. Very close to the beaches and the dune climb. Close to Glen haven beach/ town and about 40 min to Downtown traverse city. Parking is right at inn and has a backyard with pit and seating but is not very inviting to the eye. Price is good for comparison and with some minor updates this place would be the spot.Rooms: Need some TLC.Nearby activities: Dune climb challenge. Glen Haven town/ beach. Traverse city close. Beautiful views. Kayak boat rental.Safety: Windows lock great clean area close to room parking. No issues.Walkability: This is a walking town.Food & drinks: Restaurants pricey stick to local grub.Noteworthy details: Great location

I have stayed at the M22 Inn - Glen Arbor many time over the past few months while we looked for a home of our own.. Needless to say, it is like being home! Clean, quiet and close to so many things. Art's, Leelanau Coffee Roasters and of course Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The owners are kind and accommodating. I cannot recommend the M22 Inn enough! It is like coming home!!

Nice little place surrounded with lots of plants and trees. I really like that I can park my car right outside my door. My room has a thermostat for the heat which is helpful in northern Michigan, even in June. It's not a shiny, ultra-modern corporate hotel but it is perfectly adequate for me in every way. I'm staying here on weekdays when the rates are quite reasonable and crowds are few. Everything you need is within walking distance including a wine tasting room, a half dozen restaurants, two coffee shops, some gift shops, a microbrewery in the Cherry Republic if you like beer, and best of all a substantial supermarket where you can get whatever you might want to eat or drink back at the motel. Nice shower and tub with plenty of hot water and a non-slip surface which is important to me. I heard people walking above me last night just a little bit and a brief knocking in the walls which I suspect is the heating system, but otherwise it was pretty quiet here on a Sunday night. I hear that the weekends are quite different around here, and I know the hotel rates are generally much higher as you would expect, but I won't be here then so someone else will have to advise you on that. The water here tastes like it's from a well and not Lake Michigan which is very strange because the lake is only two blocks away, but I brought my Brita pitcher and that helps somewhat.

Thomas and Dana are wonderful hosts. Very willing to serve and were accessible when we texted them. Due to the COVID restrictions the room was open when we arrived with the key available to us. The room was clean and very spacious. The price was excellent for what we received. The room had everything we needed to accommodate our stay. Despite being a bit dated and could use a bit of a makeover, the room was very clean and stocked with everything needed. The location is wonderful - within walking distance to town, the grocery store, restaurants and the beach. You should try the pies from the bakery behind the hotel.

This hotel is in an excellent location being walking distance to shops, restaurants, a coffee shop, art galleries and the lakes (both Michigan and Glen Lakes) We rented the king room for a weekend. Upon arrival we were told they door would be open and the key on the table. No key so we had to wait for someone to come with a key. The room is sparsely decorated with a small table and chairs and a rock hard bed. Our bigger issue was the Sunday cleaning staff. While resting before heading out for the day s activities, we listen to a housekeeper use the f word multiple times per sentence, and she was not quiet about it. And they had a lovely toddler with them, who clearly grew bored of the cleaning and started screaming outside our window. We had to keep the windows open as our room was quite stuffy, and the in window AC until left much to be desired. There are numerous simple fixes that could bring this property up into the $200 a night range. As they do not do cleaning for multi night stays (due to Covid) I would recommend to the management to stock up the multi night stay rooms with extra towels, toiletries, trash bags, Kleenex and toilet paper, and coffee and coffee condiments. We never used the shower in our room, as we only had 2 bath towels and no bath mat to step out onto. The free WiFi worked for a few hours on our first day, then it didn t work again. Luckily we travel with a hot spot. There is much that could be done to increase comfort. Better sheets - very scratchy; fill the Kleenex dispenser that is adhered to the bathroom sink, ours was empty the entire stay. Neither the room description nor the photos showed a coffee maker, so I brought our travel coffee maker. I was happy to see the coffee pot, but happier that I brought my own coffee, as there was enough complimentary coffee for one pot, not nearly enough for a weekend stay. The water is extremely hard, so if you re not used to well water, walk next door to Anderson s market and get water for drinking and making coffee. The flat screen tv is nice, however it takes up half the dresser top space, it would be much more convenient to mount it to the wall on a swivel. A local activity and restaurant guide would be great in the room. There are so many excellent restaurants in walking distance, a list of them and what types of payments they accept, would be very helpful. Good places to watch a sunrise or the sunset would be appreciated. The website says there is an ice machine on the first floor, all we found was an empty ice chest that was warm with puddles in the bottom, no ice to be found.

Location is great. Just a block from all the main restaurants and stores of glen arbor. Short drive to sleeping bear dunes. Place itself has a nice green space out front to hangout. You do have the typical noise that a motel has with people walking or talking. When one group was being especially loud the manager spoke with them and no issues after. They had contactless check in- got a text with the information and key was in the unlocked room. Easy to message the manager with any needs.Beds themselves are ok. Slept well and will visit again.

It was located in a great location in the center of town near all the town's attractions. The hotel room needed some renovations. The in-wall air conditioner was filthy, loud, and close to death. The shower had leftover hair and the bath fan was so loud but did not seem to actually work. They only provided two bath towels so we ended up sharing one of them. The bedding was newer but the beds were of different heights. There was a refrigerator and microwave which was nice and a table with two chairs which was convenient.

Loved staying here and being so close to everything! We walked around everyday in town and only drove short distances to everything else! I gave a 4 out of 5 because the bathroom in our room, room 104, smelled awful. We had to keep the door closed the entire time and we weren't sure if it was because the toilet didn't have a lid, the pipes under the sink were bad, or the dumpsters behind the hotel. Also, would request to get a 2nd floor room so you aren't forced to listen to people above you walking around all night(not the hotels fault but a personal preference). Other than that we loved it and the bed was super comfortable! Would stay here again!

I had no problem here. The bathrooms were clean and so was the room. It's in walking distance from all the local/tourist points in the town. Just a little weird that they left the door unlocked and had our keys sitting on the coffee table. There's a number on the upper balcony to call to check-in. There isn't really a front desk or hotel management on site from what I saw.

Nice place to stay in Glen Arbor. Clean rooms, quiet and within walking distance of everything in the small downtown area.Would have given five stars but they're on well water so it's not quite perfect.

WORST HOTEL EVER - DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE - One of the most disgusting hotels I've ever experienced in my life!!!! I booked a room at The Lakeshore in this past summer. The staff and especially the owner was inconsiderate, rude and unresponsive. We walked into the room and it smelled like SULFUR (rotten eggs) from the window a/c unit. They counter offer was offering me another room that was connected to their office with an access door to the room with no privacy what so ever. They said that they would credit my account and then they ended up charging my account for the room when I didn't even stay there. I WOULD SUGGEST NEVER STAYING AT THIS DUMP OF A HOTEL EVER AGAIN!!!

This is not a nice place folks. We couldn't stand it for our booked 2 nites and chose to willingly leave the 2nd day and booked another place, rather than spend another nite there. Just dirty and smelly and old. The bathroom is a closet and the kitchenette a joke. I travel for work and basically live in hotels, and this is about the worst place have stayed. The area is beautiful and the front desk folks were nice, but seriously, stay somewhere else when going up there

We were looking for a last minute place to crash and this inn was very accommodating! I wouldn't call it luxury but it doesn't claim to be either. Very clean and comfortable.

We were told to arrive between 3:00 and 7:00 by email. We arrived at 3:30 and no one was there. Called the number taped to office door and had to leave a message. Waited with our luggage on the sidewalk for 30 mins. And tried to call again....left another message. Finally almost an hour later we got a call back and we were told our room number and that the room was open with key on the table. Gathered our things and went inside. Noticed a odd smell that we couldn't figure out. Found it that evening when we wanted to make a pot of coffee...old coffee filled filter was left in pot. Moldy old filters tend to smell up the place. Also we are both allergy sufferers and there was a box of Kleenex in the bathroom but alas it was empty. We probably would have left after waiting for the first 30 mins. but our credit card was charged the full amount of room when the reservation was made. At check out no one was to be found either so we just left the key on the table. Cute town and close to awesome things to see and do but we will look for another place to stay next time! If owners would like a suggestion....if you can't be around or have the office staffed ask guests to give you a call when they are getting close so you can have someone there to welcome them. In my book it was NOT money well spent.

Carpets are stained, bathrooms messy and moldy, cockroach on the wall. Clearly not well cleaned between stays and is extremely expensive for the quality. You pay about $200 for the same stay as a nasty motel on the side of the road in the middle-of-nowhere. Very disappointed. We had been camping all weekend and wanted a restful stay, and we made a mistake. Do not stay here.

We had a GREAT time in Glen Arbor. The M22 Inn worked out perfectly! There were 3 of us. One queen and one dbl bed, a dresser, tv, refrigerator, microwave and a small round table with 2 chairs and a window air conditioner. The bathroom had a small vanity - for 3 women LOL but it worked for us! You can walk wherever you want to in town from the Inn and we did! Great place to stay while you are in town!

DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL. Booked and paid for this motel last week. Called on the weekend to change the reservation. Although they said they would call back, they never did. Finally today....tough *** we are out of luck. Wouldn't not change the reservation or even give a partial refund. Totally dishonest. I said I would make this known to other travelers and was told go for it. She could care less about customer service. If I ran my business like this I would be out of business in no time. I have stayed here for a decade and this is how they treat loyal customers. These are new owners and dishonest terrible people. Do not give these people your charge card. You will be SORRY.
