Primordial pleasure! I found this to be a truly unexpected experience. Be a good human and leave no trace... including dust. Stay below the 20 mile per hour speed limit. You just might be surprised by a guard goose who refuses to leave his post or a Sandhill crane dancing in the road as we were. Whitefish point unit completely different from inland area and worth the stroll down the boardwalk. Say YAY to the UP.

Very tranquil spot to check out when passing through on m77. Highly recommend stopping to check it out, takes about 1-2+ hrs depending how long you stop in the turnouts.

Seney National Wildlife Refuge is one of those places that will remain in your memory for years to come. The drive in through main entrance alone - with its tree-lined road - is a preview of what's to come. Man-made pools provide a respite for migratory birds and create picturesque waterscapes for visitors. During my visit, cirrus clouds moved slowly across the sky, adding an atmospheric look to the nature-filled landscape. A myriad of dragonflies kept me company on my trek along the Pine Ridge Nature Trail - which led me along pools and through other habitats. Take your time when walking around as there is much to see and experience, plus a number of areas/entrances to visit. A helpful volunteer at the (temporary) Visitor Center showed me what areas were open (during construction) and where to park.

The refuge is so scenic and tranquil, there's so much wildlife to see, if you go there early in the morning. They have a bus tour, but we are never on time and always miss it. The staff here are very friendly and answer any questions you have. There is a spotting scope inside the visitor center which points directly towards treetop eagle nest in the refuge, which is really awesome. We always get to see mama eagle with its fledglings every time we visit this refuge. There is no entrance fee, but still they take excellent care of the refuge for all of us to enjoy and see. They have a donation box in there, if you can please donate!

This place is awesome! Miles of remote roads and trails to explore! It would take forever to explore this whole place! This is an especially great place to go to if you're a birder like me. I saw a Ruffed Grouse while I was here. It was so cute! Oh, and I would recommend a 4 X 4 or AWD car, not a Buick Century. But hey, the scenery and sheer wilderness of this spot made it worth it :)

Amazing wildlife experience! Saw beavers and lots of loons. Excellent fishing spots with pike unfortunately didn't catch any labor day weekend. Able to drive through the fishing loop and marshland loop and plenty of spots to pull out wake around a little and enjoy nature.

I really enjoy this place. You can plan to take a short trip with your car. I enjoy riding my bike on the trails there are a lot only open to bike. So you can see a lot more swamp. This place is quiet and peaceful.

Turn off the radio, park and listen to absolute and amazing silence broken only by animal calls! If i could live here.. i seriously would. This is such a beautiful place! So peaceful.. We took the 7 mile trail in the car and stopped off at a few spots. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it.

This is such a beautiful area! I have stopped here multiple times with my family, a d each time we have seen butterflies, wildflowers, turtles, and all sorts of birds. This time of year there are many monarch butterflies which are so pretty. If you walk on the trail you can sometimes find berries that you can pick. Last time we were there we ate tons of saskatoon berries that we picked straight from the trees. There is also a one way road that goes all the way around the lake which is so beautiful. Well worth your time!

Absolutely beautiful very wild natural area. The river is very curvy adding to it's challenge. It was so peaceful, not hearing any car noises, just birds and other animals. There were eagles too! Very worthwhile trip.

Beautiful place to visit. Take the slow 15 mph 7 mile long scenic drive through the ponds and bogs. In early October we saw swans, geese, ducks, a loon and a bald eagle. We were pretty much by ourseves on the drive. Highly recommend no motorhomes or semis though.

This place opened my eyes up to the wonderful world that is wildlife refuges! This was the first one I had gone to and it got me addicted!! It was so cool!!! There was so much wildlife to see, beautiful trails to walk, and a beautiful drive through, too! This is a must see for this area! I'm so glad that I had googled this place when I had some free time while staying in Munising, and made my way out to here. It was definitely one of the coolest wildlife refuges I've been to (and since then I've continuously gone to more, but this one is still my favorite).

Always beautiful and nice spot to stretch your legsPerfect 1.5 mi loop trail from back of visitors center wraps pond and passes through pine Forest along well marked path and series of board walks. Allow at least an hour to do the Fishersman loop drive. Nice visitors center with helpful staff, bookstore, overlook and improved restrooms. Check schedule before arriving for special program offerings. Restrooms close at 5pm; refuge closes at dark. Bald eagle, beaver, Swan's and more

A great park for the whole family. From the nice visitor center to the different ponds filled with beautiful waterfowl and fish, to all sorts of flowers and other animals to view, it is a very convenient and enjoyable drive through the whole park. A definite stop to recommend for anybody driving through the area.

Beautiful area with easy access to great bird watching. Both the Fishing Loop and Marshland Wildlife Drive are decent drives if you're looking to experience the park from a vehicle.

Untouched wetlands along a 7 mile drive. Great for a bike ride, scenic drive, or stopping off half way to fish.

I totally love Seney Wildlife Refuge... Very well preserved and taken care of... they have a 7 Mile road that you can go, drive at your own pace; many pullovers to stop at...

Unplanned stop, what a pleasant surprise. We did the 1 1/2 nature walk that begins at the visitor center. Then we drove the 7 mile fisherman loop.

Absolutely love it here. Very nice visitor center where kids can touch and explore, plus helpful volunteer staff. Very much enjoyed the 7-mile marsh drive where we stopped many times to watch loons, etc. We checked out a free fishing kit and binoculars with bird field guide for the loop.

Our first time here. We were hoping to see loons and were not disappointed. Unexpected amazing bonus: Pelicans!!!! We had no idea they came here. What a wonderful treat. Must come back. Shout out to the folks in the visitor center so nice, so knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction. Thanks so much, it made our day!

Stopped by here out of curiosity and found it was well worth it. Got to drive through the area. Visitors center was closed but they have brochures available out front.

The seven-mile drive is amazing if you get there at 7am and take your time to look closely. A spotting scope would be a handy tool to have along (ideally with a window mount and digiscope adapter for your smartphone). There is a 1.5 mile walking loop that starts from the visitor center if you have time to kill before the road opens at 7am.
