I forgot my room key in the room and was looking all over for them. In the confusion, I then accidentally left my battery powered gloves at the check in counter to get another key. The awesome staff left a note for the morning wave to hand them back to me and the gentleman even came out to my car In a short sleeve shirt (it was below freezing weather) to hand them to me. These gloves help my Raynauds syndrome so I very much appreciate the effort and gesture!! The facilities are clean and everything works great in the updated guest rooms.

Woke up at 5 am to a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in my room. I called the front desk, not really knowing what they could do but definitely wanted to make them aware. The woman (Rebecca?) at the front desk who I spoke to apologized up and down and said that she would have the manager call me later that day. I struggled to fall back asleep as I could then hear a couple talking quite clearly, coughing, laughing, etc. Woke up with a headache. Checked out at the front desk and I noticed she had a different first name than the person I spoke with at 5 am- figured this was the manager. Reiterated the event to which she replied, yes, we have been having an issue with some of our long term guests. Someone else complained of the same thing last night. She also said the manager would call me later that day. I never received a call and it has been more than a week. I understand that a non-smoking policy is just that, a policy. I can imagine it could be difficult and awkward to enforce. My issue is that I was assured it would be addressed and it wasn t. This is not an inexpensive place to stay. I got a terrible nights sleep and do not feel the value lived up to the cost. Pretty disappointed and will not be staying here again.

I'm writing this because it is a great hotel for Gaylord. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The lady running the breakfast area is an excellent example of attentive, friendly, caring and happy staff member. It was truly refreshing to meet someone like this. I don't remember her name but me and my family all talked about what a great positive person she is. We will stay here again when we are in the area.

Front desk was pleasant and welcoming, cleaning staff left cute notes in our rooms (2), but my room 226 was filthy when I arrived. Tv was left on microwave had food drippings in it and the bathroom shower chair had dried urine or some yellow drippings on it as well as pink (mildew) everywhere on the bottom. The body soap and hair conditioner was empty and someone s used shampoo cap on the shower shelf. We paid $220 each, totally not worth the money, seriously disappointed..Noteworthy details: Will not stay there again!!

We just checked in - online before arriving. We are Platinum members. All we got at the front desk was you re checked in. Here s your key . No hello, no welcome to Fairfield Inn, no Thank you for being a Platinum Member , no asking whether we wanted the points for staying or bottles of water, no mention of where the room was, no mention of breakfast times - nothing. She was very gruff and unpleasant! We used our points by the way. Is this how you treat Members who use their points instead of paying? Or is it because we are Platinum? BTW, this is the 3rd time the front desk at a Fairfield was less than stellar. We don t experience this attitude at any of the other properties - no matter where we travel! Unacceptable!

The Fairfield Inn of Gaylord, Michigan was a near perfect stay. The hotel is quiet and very clean, the room likewise. Too many times in this day and age, one stays at a nice name brand hotel and finds the room and/or bathroom dirty. This whole place is immaculate and the staff needs some praise. Wendy, the room attendant, left a nice note and I left a good tip to show my appreciation for the great job she is doing. The front desk was helpful, expedient, and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very good with several delicious items such as cage-free eggs, turkey sausage, and mini waffles! Just a great place and I can't say enough good things. Thank youRooms: The room was very nice. The decor was modern, the bed super comfortable, and the bathroom was large and spotless. I really enjoyed the extra large shower with a glass door.

Mellisa was amazing! We were in a jam and needed a room last minute after getting stuck at the airport due to weather. She recommended a good taxi service, got us a great room for a good price and the hotel also provided breakfast and soap for laundry. She made the end of a stressful day the easiest it could have been. The whole room but very noticeably the shower was super clean. The hotel was walking distance to gas stations and multiple food places. The hot tub and pool were also salt water pool/hot tubs. It was so nice to not smell like chlorine especially in the plane the next morning.

I didn t know what to expect because there s not a lot of hotel choices in Gaylord Michigan. I was pleasantly greeted by two lovely ladies at the front desk. When I arrived, there was a nice clean lobby that also had a nice scent. when I went to my room the hallways and carpet were clean and bright and fresh. It looked brand new upon entering my room, the same thing it was a very clean, very welcoming room. If I were to knock them for anything, they do not leave any bathroom amenities like shower cap or make up remover right in the room. The other thing I ding them on is the single ply, toilet paper. Otherwise I would stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel for 6 weeks for work, and this hotel from top to bottom was excellent. The staff is exceptional here. Each and everyone one is friendly and will go out of their way for you. Every staff member is very knowledgeable about local events, local history, the things to do and places to see in Gaylord and surrounding areas. The hotel is very clean and kept up nicely. Def a great place to stay.

My stay was absolutely excellent! Every little detail was perfect! The rooms were exceptionally clean (thank you Andrea!), the staff was kind, friendly and compassionate as I was there for a funeral, they had beer and wine available at the front desk, a nice pool and hot tub, a great gym, a terrific breakfast and a convenient location to 75 making travel north and south a breeze. It was quiet, clean, comfy, cozy and as a woman traveling alone I felt extremely safe there. Megan was the greatest, she checked me in while I was on my 14 hour drive there, had keys waiting for me so all I had to do was go straight to my room and to bed. The staff was so thoughtful and made this difficult time a lot easier. I will be staying with them again on a happier occasion and would 110% recommend anyone stay there.

We were not intending to stop but due to two members of the family coming down sick we had to stop somewhere. Every hotel in town wanted (understandably) us to pay for the previous night since it was so early in the morning. The ladies working the counter waved it and let us stay for the one night fee. That s great customer support and understanding. Also, this is a very nice hotel! Great breakfast and great rooms!

So we came here for the holidays from Metro Detroit and so far everything was perfect. From location, price, pool and the service that Megan and Shannon provided was above and beyond! I been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and you know when someone is faking it and not enjoying what they do but not Megan and Shannon. They were both very accomadating from the moment we checked in to extra towels and pillows! We pray their both here til Wednesday because that's when we check out. Just because of them two we would definitely be back at this location! Hats off Megan and Shannon, keep being amazing!

Excellent customer service from Wendy!!! We checked in as a super early (4am) walk in due to a snow storm and Wendy was phenomenal at accommodating us when it seemed no other hotel in the area would. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was provided for us in the AM, and a great rate to get a few hours rest after driving for hours at slow speeds in a storm.

Was informed the pool was closed upon checking in, just to find out 3 nights later it was open and available my whole stay. Extremely disappointed that I couldn't get use of the one extra thing I would have enjoyed because there was a complete breakdown in communication within the desk staff. Housekeeping does a spectacular job with keeping the rooms stocked and clean!

Hotel and staff were amazing, friendly and exceptionally accommodating to our needs. Room was comfortable and clean. The pool is VERY small. The fitness room was closed and under construction. The continental breakfast was minimal and not very appetizing. The coffee was plentiful.. Overall the hotel was okay but not up to what we have come to expect from Marriott hotels. If they were going to upgrade anything I would think it should be the pool area and food, not the fitness area.

Not only was this hotel clean and convenient, but the free breakfast and coffee was very good! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, and they upgraded us to a king suite room and put a great gift back of snack treats in our room before we arrived. This is a great place to stay while seeing all the wonderful scenery of northern Michigan!

We stayed here while we were in town for our wedding this weekend and the staff here was AMAZING! We had 20+ families stay with us & they went above and beyond to make sure we all had what we needed. The rooms & hotel were very clean! I will highly recommend this hotel to others!

Very new property. Front Desk staff was great. Room was much nicer than expected. Walk in shower, large vanity, great lighting. Microwave and mini fridge and coffee maker all included with a small real closet. Very well designed Desk area with a very comfortable Desk chair. My Marriott profile requests extra feather pillows and for the first time in a very long time they were in the room waiting for me. We'll done Marriott!!

We have stayed here several times over the past couple of years and have not been disappointed. The rooms are larger than similar hotel brands and have always been clean upon arrival. The location of this hotel is great if you plan on walking downtown Gaylord. Additionally, all of the staff we have interacted with have been helpful and professional. Overall, would recommend staying here when you are in the Gaylord area!
