I have had the worst experiences with multiple different mechanics in the area until I was referred to Auto Lab.. I have finally found my place! They are very thorough, honest and straightforward with reasonable pricing.. I feel very comfortable with them. It's hard to find a place like this,, if you haven't checked them out yet,, Do it!! You definitely won't be disappointed!! Thanks Andy and Josh!!

Went in and got my rear brakes worked on after receiving an $800 dollar estimate from Belle Tire. I decided to try a local place and was not disappointed! They took me back, showed me exactly what needed to be done and explained to me why in great detail. They showed me that my calipers were fine and didn't need replacing. After handing me an estimate that was $300 less than Belle tire, I let them get to work. Job was done very quickly. 2 year warranty. These guys are excellent people and very professional. I will definitely be coming back here from now on for all of my automotive needs. Thank you guys so much!

Ok, I ve been slow to post my review but here it is. Andy and his crew are very helpful with all of the services they offer. They are honest, and do not sugarcoat any of the details involving the repairs required to your vehicle. Very knowledgeable and thorough. Have been here twice and Andy was very helpful and patient explaining how they would do an inspection first to find out what s wrong and let us know what needs to be fixed, what should be fixed soon, and what we should keep an eye on for the future. Very forthright and honest approach which, after dealing with many mechanics who fix things that didn t need to be fixed and tell you when it comes time to pay, was very relieving. Great experience through and through

I ve gone to Andy for years for a multitude of things o can t handle on my own. He has always been very professional with everything I ve had to deal with. Even if I have a simple question for something I m working on at home he always takes his time to explain something even if it s over the phone. I have no negative feedback, I ve taken vehicles to him to be inspected before I buy them, I took my Audi to him to get a new clutch put in, and without hesitation. Sometimes he might cost a little more than other shops in town but you pay for what you get and I ll gladly pay a little more for something that s going to last longer. Have had my jeep in for several services. I've dealt with the sake mechanic each time, he does great work. Communicates well, especially if the vehicle needs to sit due to waiting for parts for example. Must be better than Affordable auto. Had 1800 in repairs done there.towed 3 times,and 500 4 tows .Thank God 4 his help.Since I'm a 67 yr old disabled veteran who has a Disabled daughter and can't afford to take care of himself. Let alone his daughter.Great town,state,country we've become huh dems.

Called 2 weeks before i had an interlock device calibration appointment to also schedule to have a battery and ball joint replacement done and when i arrived on the scheduled date and time was told they were too backed up to do any work drove 1.5 hrs for absolutely nothing and no warning ahead of time about not being able to do the work on the scheduled time would give zero stars if possible this place is a joke

Instead of removing wiring they just cut it and let it hang under dash by brake and gas pedalsWhen you call and ask why dash lights are glitching they say nothing they did and insist that I just need to replace the whole dash cluster and also couldn't hook my automatic start back up because they didn't have a code. All lies and the drive to auto enhancements in Alpena was well worth it.

New to the area, Andy and Autolab folks gladly took in our old 2004 Saturn Ion and 2013 Honda Civic for synthetic oil changes and diagnoses the next day. They correctly investigated engine checklight faults on the Saturn and alertly noticed cracks in the wornout rubber drive belt of our Honda! WELL DONE! I recall my summer gas station job as a teenager over 50 years ago, when a GATES Rubber Company rep awarded me a silver dollar collection for one of few to spot his wornout belt on his car after I had checked his oil. In short, whatever age car you drive in, I trust that the Autolab folks will do an outstanding job. Best car care place I've ever been too.Very kind and pleasant. They are not there to RIP you off. on the contrary he did wonderful work and cut my bill. And made me feel like I was a friend not a number. I recommend them to all who need car care.

Cheats and liars will take you to the cleaners or take your car. Spent an insane amount on breaks just to have them redone in record time. If you value your car and $$ go somewhere else.Reply: If saying you use cheap parts and skimp to save a dime and charge top dollar is vulgar then yes I was. I have lived in this part of the state for more than 20 years....never in my life have I had "top dollar" parts go bad that fast.....ever. I never once swore or said anything that wasn't true. The rotors you used were of the cheapest steel I have ever seen, complete junk. I did take my cars somewhere else, funny story. They knew who I was talking about the second I told them the price you charged me without even mentioning your shop.....you have a rep in town and its your fault not mine.

Update PLEASE READ VERY BOTTOM ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE PBT INSTALL HERETo be honest I wouldn't bring a car here if they were to offer the first repair free... Due to other circumstances I ended up here because of a friend making a mistake by choosing it. They seem extremely unprofessional, and you can tell there obviously dirty and unorganized by there front office and building. This is one of those places where you only go if you know the people or don't know any better. They may do quality-ish work but face to face they're extremely incompetent and unprofessional. The installed and remote start device for a friend and literally withing 3 miles ( no joke) the check engine light started flashing. We called them and they said a flashing engine light means theirs an electrical issue, but there's no chance the work they did caused it.... They were completely standoffish and unhelpful. I could understand coincidence but the check engine light was for a faulty ignition switch, minutes after being started the first time after a remote starter install. The car was fixed elsewhere because their demeanor and unwillingness to admit it could've been there fault!UPDATE: I left this review last night. ( I didn't put the PBT install in original post because I didn't want to waste time explaining the situation. when the device they installed had to do with the ignition anyway)This morning I get a call from my friend ( who had his PBT installed @auto-lab on my truck so he can drive it) they're so unprofessional that they denied his service now, and are trying to make up a violation to make him lose his license,THEY SAID """"we're calling the PBT company and telling them you violated, that they have (me) on film attempting to tamper with the ignition"""" ( This obviously never happened)all because they're upset with my review. What LIARS! They told him the reason was my fault. It's funny because my friend will get his issue resolved but this business obviously proved to be petty, and everything I've already stated has been reinforced. I leave fair honest reviews everywhere some great some negative but always list the reason. These guys are attempting to ruin my friends chance at getting his license because of a honest review I left.... CUSTOMER BEWARE

I've been going to Auto Lab of Gaylord for over 3 years since moving to MI. Andy has always taken care of my car, making sure I am safe on the road. He looks to save me money without lowering the quality of service. As a single mature woman, I won't go anywhere else. Just one visit with him and you'll know he has your best interest at heart.

I've had several vehicles serviced here by Jericho and will continue to do so so long as he works here. His communication and work speaks for itself. Everything from engines to tires he will get you taken care of the right way.

Andy and the crew are awesome! I took my car in for a wheel bering and he called and let me know that more work was needed. He showed me exactly what needed to be fixed right now. He also warned me that i will need to replace my tires soon. I will be returning here for all of my automotive repairs.
