I took my daughters 2002 Ford Escape into the Linden location on 5/18/2022 and they were able to get it in right away, they replaced the leaking flex pipe and put in a new hanger for $194.95. I pulled out and was barely able to make it to Fenton. I drove back to the site and spoke with the tech who did the work and explained I thought the rest of the exhaust was clogged because it had no power. He said I could leave it but they had 8 other vehicles in front of me now and that he had looked inside the catalytic converter and didn't see any problems. I left Linden and made it back to Byron where I live, dropped some groceries and drove out to Dave's Muffler Shop in Durand where my Escape stalled upon entering the parking lot. The technician came out and instantly knew the catalytic converter was bad. I watched them cut the old 1 off and seen all the chunks of material fall out as they removed it. Now after paying them it runs like a champ.

Stay Away!I've done business with the Holland, MI Muffler Man and in the past, I believe that they have treated me fair. But it seems that that with most auto repair shops it is inevitable that the time will come when they will try to play you for a fool and ruin a business relationship with greed.Understand, I have a great knowledge about vehicles I ve been fixing cars for more than 25 years. And I know how long it takes to repair many mechanical items. Yesterday I dropped off my vehicle because there was some noise coming from my exhaust. Several hours later I get a call saying that there were three issues, a noise coming from the front pipe, the muffler and the resonator. He stated that the muffler and resonator had holes in them and were leaking. Now less than a year ago I had the flex pipe and the front exhaust pipe replace. I had them welded and not bolted with gaskets. So I knew right off he was lying. Also the resonator is in very good shape. The problem was the muffler which was the cause of the noise. I had already diagnosed it the night before.He told me it would cost $700, yes you heard me $700 to fix all of this. I then told him, I can t afford that price. He put me on hold and came back minutes later and then stated that the majority of the noise was coming from the rear of the exhaust (the muffler and resonator) which was partially true because like I said, the front of the exhaust had already been replaced. He then stated that it would cost $400 to fix just the rear portion of the exhaust. That means that he was going to charge me $300 to fix the front which was not broken. WOW!Cautiously I began to second guess myself, so I took the vehicle to get several additional looks. I took it to two different muffler shops. Both muffler shops agreed with my diagnosis and confirmed that the noise was only coming from the muffler. The first shop stated that they would only charge me $210 for labor and parts. The second shop quoted me $200 for parts and labor. So this Muffler Man that I did business with prior and who I believed was fair was charging me double what the in town competitors were charging to replace the muffler and also was trying to rip me off by quoting prices for something that wasn t broken. If I didn t know any better I would have been down $500. How many people have they gotten rich off because of a lack of vehicle knowledge.

My daughter recently had her vehicle repaired at Muffler Man on Davison Road in Flint. The whole family has gone there for years for oil changes, brakes and other repairs. This time it was a disaster. She has sent emails and called for a response from the corporate office, but so far no one has contacted her. After $2000 in repairs, she had 4 dents in her hood, a large gap under her headlight, and just signs that something else happened to the vehicle. They repaired the hood dents, but never told her what happened that caused the large gaps under her headlights. Also, where they repaired the dents, she now has paint that is "crackling", sothat will become an issue in the future...no longer will use that Muffler Man...........

Missing a bolt on my manifold they also stole my brand new catalytic converter and put a rusty used catalytic coverter on my 08 G6 @ 3300 28th street se Kentwood Michigan I have pictures and videos of my new part and videos and pictures of the rusty used part they put on my car this has cost me money and time and I am very displeased with the shady machines there do not take your car there they will get over on you

Warehouse is a disaster, dead animal in semi trailer stinking up the whole area, guy they had me working with knocked the place in the ground. Never know what your suppose to do. Nobody's working.
