Took my block here for a simple cleaning and honing. Friendly people but zero communication. I called every week for two months only for them to promise false deadlines. I was told the block had been cleaned and honed and that a line bore was to be done as well. After not receiving any information I came into the shop to pick my block up and go somewhere different. Turns out no work had been done at all and my project is delayed two months. I m very disappointed to be lied too.

It baffles me when i call and ask if they would be there a few minutes after close so i could come pick up our engine head. They said yeah. They knew i was driving from an hour away. I told them. And as soon as i got there they called my boyfriend "oh yeah it wont be done" okay. Now its going one 3 weeks after your promised 2 weeks. AND NOW YOU HAD ME DRIVE OUT HERE FOR NOTHING? THEN WANNA BE BE UPSET WITH ME? ALL I HAVE TO SAY IT GO SOMEWHERE, WHERE YOUR MONEY ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING. THESE PEOPLE DONT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS. Oh and the job that they said would take another week to do, he got done in 4 hours.

I won't lie you'll wait in line. But what you'll get back is worth waiting in line for. Some of the best cross hatch hone I've seen. all work is exactly as it's suppose to be measurements are true and perfect. Highly recommend

They quote one price over the phone, then raised it when I brought my heads in, then tried to charge even more when it was time to pick it up for the same amount of work. The end price they attempted to charge was $155 more than we agreed on upon drop off, which was already $50 above the phone quote. They also only degrease the heads and do not do any other cleaning, leaving them very rusty and still rather dirty. They said that it is not included and they only say decrease but any other shop will clean the whole head. All I can say is while the parts they did do were done well, customer beware.

Do great work.Know many people that were happy about performance.But they take on more work than they can handle. .Was told to have job done in one week.Been more than 3 weeks and still not done.Also a bit more expensive than most places.Shouldnt be told a time thats not achievable.Wouldnt have left in first place if they would have said longer time to begin with.

Very satisfied with their work. Dropped off my cylinder head and they had it machined and ready the next day - even gave me some pizza when I came to pick it up! Very friendly staff and would definitely deal with them again.

Great price on machining my heads, good turn around time and great service, would use again. Staff upfront was friendly and yes somewhat "dirty" like you would expect someone at a machineshop working. Some of these negative reviews are ridiculous to me.

Customer service can use some work. Also there service pricing does not match what they have on ther website.Took my engine block and head to get machine work done. Satisfied with head work and having the block bored out. But as far as cleaning the block they charge me 80 bucks and all they did was degrease the block and ther were still alot gunk inside the coolant passages. I should of clean the block myself.

I had a driveshaft customized, shortened, and balanced. Service was fantastic, and the turnaround time was even more incredible. I will definitely use these guys again and refer friends as well.

Fair prices and fast service. I was rebuilding a an engine for a project, so I did not want to spend a ton of money. Had the engine cleaned and bored and the cylinder head gone through. They did a great job, the difference in the 20 year old--180,000 mile motor and a fresh engine rebuild is a true night & day difference!

I've had this shop due my work for my engine block and head work both in which time promised was way out the door and took way longer than expected and seem to be very un educated when it comes to building they had an issue with my head never called to ask me I'd I had parts they needed just waited on me too call and then when I was told head here heads done I get a call 2min down the road from a 60min drive there to be told they need different parts again ridiculous and unprofessional.

Saved me about 800 on a drive shaft and helped me to prove another shop damaged the shafts bearings doing work. Very very good work. Will use in the future.

Great friendly experience, timely repairs, I had my parts back in less than 24 hours... Price Fair... Dort Highway Machine Shop is one of the best places to take your parts when you know what you want to have done and need it done correctly

Wasn't impressed with this place. Looked them up by asking Google for a drive shaft repair and when we get there they only balance a drive shaft that are already taken off. Didn't mention that when I called and asked about getting our drive shaft balanced on our truck. Drove there for nothing.

Always done right by me. Work fast and fair prices. Usually get clean parts back (big bonus in my book)Would recommend.

Went to bell tire and got a quote about replacing a wheelbearing and hub and they wanted to charge me $500 to fix that one part took it to these guys the ordered the parts and put the bearing onto my hub for me for only $132 now thats service without trying to rip you off
