This guy does great work, fixing or recoring. He knows his stuff. Old school shop for old school rads. He fixed my original radiator that another shop said was junk (pic 1), and recorded and modified another radiator for me (pic 2). Cash only. Fast service.

This dude is running this place all by himself. He does fantastic work and is extremely capable and knowledgeable. Part of me wants to quit my white collar job and become an apprentice for this dying repair industry. Send him your work!

Mel is a Master Craftsman..Tell him what you want and he leaves you options.The restoration of my radiator was enhanced with a stronger cooling ratio and STILL kept all the C5 numbers as it was new in 1965... and just think I was gonna go 3 or 4 row aluminum ...until Mel "schooled " me..

It was pleasure doing business with this shop. Mel went over my repair options and explained the costs. I decided to re-core my radiator and it looks line new. If you need your radiator fixed don't mess around and go with these experienced guys that do quality work.

I ve had about 10 radiators recored by Mel (the owner) for my classic cars. Work is always top notch and fairly priced. Never had to bring one back for an issue and, unlike buying a replacement radiator, the best part is you know it ll drop right in when you get it back!Highly recommend Mel.

Best shop around! Mel is a top-notch master of his craft. Wish there were more old-school shops like this one. I brought in 2 old radiators, one for a recore and one for a repair; Mel got me a replacement for the recore (a type can't be recored without damaging everything), and did a fantastic job sealing up the other one. He had them both finished up by the next morning, and even remembered my name when I came to pick them up! Honestly I wish I had more radiators that needed repaired, so I could give him more business. I'll be recommending this shop to everyone I possibly can! This is the kind of trustworthy, knowledgeable shop you keep coming back to.

Mel goes above and beyond to help, and his work is top quality. Made the mistake of going somewhere else before I went here. He is a encyclopedia or radiator knowledge, he's the guy you need if you're doing a restore.

If you are in the greater Detroit area east or west forget going to any of the autopart store's without giving Ferndale auto radiator repair a call first. I had my radiator repaired here for a fraction of the price. Very professional, a 5 star business in my book

Best work ever on my older radiator. Price was right but had to pay cash or check only. They trusted my check which felt like the old days. They also let me know that I was not an idiot about repairs. Gently misinformed
