Horrible place! He didn t even know what was wrong with my car and just keep giving me the run around. It was in his shop for 3 months and I still don t think he did the right job. My car runs worse now then before. Take you cars and trucks elsewhere. Not a trustworthy guy.

Eric Mathieson runs Mathieson Automotive like he wants to be your mechanic for life. Eric is honest and trustworthy and has saved me and my father in-law many hundreds of dollars over the years. Not a doubt in my mind, he'll do the same for you. A good mechanic like Eric is hard to find in this price-gouging world today. I can't recall the specifics of all of our past repairs with Eric, but here is the latest TRUE STORY: My father in-law's car hadn't been driven in 7 months (he was living out of town for the winter and spring), and when I drove it for the first time, I would have sworn his brakes were shot. They were making a lot of noise and felt like they were grinding and pulling unevenly. Eric did a full inspection of the brakes and more and concluded that all was good (the brake pads were just mucked up with oxidation from sitting so long). He cleaned off what he could and said the rest would wear off with a little use. His bill: ZERO, NOTHING $0.00! And despite our protests, he absolutely refused to take any money at all. What kind of mechanic is this?? In my book, he's the kind of mechanic I can trust. Sorry, Eric, for the long overdue kudos - I thought for sure I'd already reviewed your business. Hey Escanaba, if you want to keep your car and your wallet in good shape, better call Eric!!

Great mechanic. Fit me in two times now last minute- usually within a few days. He is very honest, which is admirable in a mechanic. He always sticks to original quoted price, calls if he has any concerns or recommendations, and I ve never had an issue with schedule changing.

I don't let ANYONE repair my vehicles, I do it myself. But I blew my rear end and had several broken ribs so I contacted Eric. He did a better job than I could have. He also gave me a very good deal, seeing as I'm in the repair business but for off-road vehicles instead of on-road vehicles. If you're gonna bring your vehicle somewhere, bring it to a "Mechanic's mechanic". You won't be disappointed.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Good luck trying to get this guy to do anything for you. My car was dead, and I desperately needed it looked at. He was recommended to me by a friend, and I called his number. At first he seemed very eager to help me, he told me "I'll come over today at 430p, tow it and look at it" I thanked him. 4:45p I called and was sent to voicemail - at 5pm the lines were closed because it was the end of his office hours. He did not show up, and he did not call me. The next morning I called him again and was then sent to voicemail. He returned my call 3 hours later, apologized and said, "I'll come over once I'm done here" again I confirmed my address and what time he would be here at my house to look at it. He never showed at my house and he never called me back. I waited to hear from him and 2 days later he called me at 830am... I took my car to someone else. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! AND I DO NOT RECCOMMEND!!

Eric and his work are outstanding!! I recently had brake lines replaced, an oil change, and tires rotated and the cost was unbelievably resonable. Eric's cost on the brakelines alone was $200 less than the estimate at a dealers service department! My new forever mechanic.

Does the work of 3 men. Does a good job on all vehicles. Never had a problem after getting mine fixed. Will always bring my car here frist if it need to be fixed.

took vehicle in for a blown rear main seal. took him longer than was told it would take. after i got the car back it didn't feel right. took car to dealer for other work and asked them to also inspect vehicle, specifically the main seal that was just replaced. they found that the seal is still leaking. brought this up to Mathieson's, he claimed i was lying and dealer is lying. Stated the the dealer only wanted money.Service: Engine repair

Was in town from the Detroit area on the long weekend. Hit a pot hole and needed a new tire put on the rim. Everywhere was closed do to it beeing the weekend and Covid-19 pandemic. He came in after hours to get me back on the road and saved the family vacation!
