It was 2:30 PM on a Saturday. My 7 1/2 year old car battery was bairly alive. I asked to buy a battery. Got a reasonable price with trade in. I said I've never switched out a car battery but it looked easily doable. The sole employee on duty (Jeff?) said he needed to stay in side but I could use their toolbox. Started the job by picking the correct size socket. Before I could figure that out Jeff shows up, gets the right socket and in 5 minutes completes the exchange. We go back inside. Jeff ?refuses to accept any money beyond the new battery cost with exchange.I'm done buying auto parts from wherever.This store serves the ER community. I'll be back!

I was in a bind...check engine and transmission warning lights came on and I was about 25 miles from home. Was too nervous to drive back with those warning lights on. Jeff checked the codes, checked my transmission fluid and filled it up out of the kindness of his heart. Jeff really saved the day! Thank you for your help!

My mother-in-law had a bad Barrera and had to be at the hospital in the morning. I was out of town and couldn't help her. I told her to go to Thirlby in Elk Rapids and talk to Jeff. Jeff is the own and a great guy.He didn't just sell her a new Barry for me to put in , in the morning. But he stayed late to take her battery out and install the new one. He wouldn't take any money....he just wanted her not to worry before her visit a the hospital in the morning.THANKS JEFF, YOUR THE BEST!

Every year I come in for advise and purchase various items. I can get from other places but I like to shop locally. What the BIG difference is the assistance and service fromthe store. I appreciate all of theGreat service and. will absolutelyRecommend the Elk Rapids store.

My wife was on a trip to the area on a Saturday afternoon and had a dead battery. Although these guys could not do a switch for her, they gave her instructions and loaned a tool box as well. She and her sister were able to do the job with their great help.This is what will keep people coming back. We highly recommend Thirlby Auto!

I was traveling from TC to Alanson, MI and the truck overheated, thankfully in front of Thirlby Automotive. Jeff? who everyone who came into the store, said was the best in his field came to my rescue. It was a bigger problem than anticipated, but he fixed the truck enough to get me safely to my designation. I highly recommend coming here for your automotive needs!

Just went in to have new headlight bulbs replaced. Jeff and Bill came out in the cold and changed them for me. They went above and beyond to help me out. These men are rock stars. Great reflection of customer service from this Elk Rapids Thirlby Automotive location.

These guys have always gone above and beyond. Our power went out in Elk Rapids and I blew out the fuse on my RAV4 s charger port trying to connect my coffee maker (I was desperate ) and my phone was down to 1%. Even though they had no power, they were open and used flashlights, the car manual and a google video I was able to play before my phone died, to find and replace the fuse. And due to this car s ridiculous panel configuration, this was no easy task. 5 STARS EVERY TIME GUYS!!

Thank you to the wonderful gentleman who came out and not only changed my broken wiper blades but also put in winshield washer fluid. They are AMAZING!

They were so nice and HELPFUL!! We were tourists with car battery problems and they lent us tools so we could put in the new battery. Then came out in the parking lot to fine tune our battery replacement..

I will go to a different Thirlby store but not this one. Sales clerk as well as this manager has no ideal how to give just a little respect toward a 82 year old senior he got mad because I asked him to replace my less than a year old battery that had tested bad by his employee the same as had had done before. Certainly made me feel like a mean old man when ever body will tell you is not the case. But I did apologize for (upsetting him I shouldn't have.

Excellent service today at Elk Rapids store. Despite blizzard like weather, store s rep (Jeff s assistant) insisted on changing my wiper blades.

Had good oem quality parts. They had Centric brand, which makes Toyota brake parts in the US mostly, on hand. Little pricey and short hours for people with jobs, but well worth the drive. It seemed like they had a lot more stuff for domestic trucks and old cars than anything else. But like I said, they had toyota calipers for my Lexus 4x4 so I'm happy. Well be going back next time I'm in Elk rapids

Always the place to go for automotive supplies. They have most of what you would need on hand. If they don't have it on hand they'll oder it, and for what I needed, it came in the next morning. I'm very happy with the service.

The staff is very friendly and very helpful I always make sure that I go there when Adam is working He always helps me and is very friendly and he always helps me put my parts on my car he has helped me with my headlight and Someone else there helped me put my wipers on I did not catch his name I will be a lifetime customer of thirlby automotives as long as you guys continue being this friendly and I will recommend your store to everyone Thank you very much

Can't say enough about the terrific (and patient!) help we received from Adam and Jeff at the Elk Rapids location! They knew more about what was wrong - and how to fix it - than we did. Definitely recommend them !
