I had to purchase a new car battery and had an absolutely easy experience with them. Really great customer service and advice from them overall. They really went above and beyond to help. I will definitely be doing buisness here in the future if I need more car parts.

These people were very very rude. Literally go across the street to any other auto parts store! They sold me the wrong part for my car and then refused to return the part because the second I opened it I knew it was the wrong part and the guy "can't put an opened package on the floor" even though they gave me the wrong part. Just lost $52. Stay away! Awful!

My college son and I had an experience with a wonderful man named Herbert at the East Lansing store. We were in a real pinch with our vehicle situation. Herbert went way above and beyond expectation with his customer service, in relation to a free install service. Great man and a great store. Thanks!!

Jerry was very slow and kept zoning out made my visit 10 times longer then it should have been. Definitely switching to autozone

Horrible, absolutely horrible service. I attempted to return a fuse holder I bought two days ago, and had my receipt. It was $5ish. They needed to see my license, credit card (even though I paid in cash) and needed my phone number. I was irritated having to give all three for a simple $5 return with a receipt. In the end, the cashier said Advance Auto stores are not electronically connected so they could only give me a store credit. Really? For $5 with my receipt, why such a hassle? And to only give a gift card in return when the fuse holder was purchased 2 days prior WITH CASH. Absolutely ridiculous. I hope the store managers read this review and make an effort to change things because i will be advertising the service I received today- yes over $5.

They are very friendly. I just went in to have them give my car a computer diagnostic test since my car was running rough and check engine light was coming on. They were quick to come out and give me the diagnostic codes. I knew there would be no simple solution and would need to take my car in for service. Thanks Advanced Auto!

Herbert was very helpful! I needed my battery replaced and the other local stores were unable to assist me. Herbert went above and beyond while completing the battery change in the frigid cold. I would highly recommend this Advanced Auto store just because of Herbert! I will be back and extremely thankful.

Great prices, selection and staff. An example of the outstanding staff there , last time I was there one of the associates called a friend to help repair a single mom's car issue she had a broken exhaust connection on her car happened on the way to bringing her kids to Dennys across the street. She apparently visited multiple repair shops with no luck and came into this location as a last resort looking for assistance with the issue. Associate had empathy for her and pulled a favor from a resource he had I assume. The person called came and fixed her car in the parking lot. Obviously this doesn't always happen for every repair needed being there just a parts store and this was a special situation but it showed awesome humanity and I'll always use this location for reasons before this occurrence happened and now it's more supported due to it. Thanks advanced auto parts for coming thru for your nieghbors.

Great shop. They have a great selection of parts and they also have great and comparable prices for the area.The best part of this location is the willingness of the team to point you in the right direction for your needs. They listen to what you need as a customer and recommend the appropriate parts at the appropriate price point.In addition they are typically willing to assist with minor tasks and have let me borrow tools as well. Great store and great team!

The staff stayed after hours just to make sure my dad showed up so I got home safe and to try and get my car up and going. I needed a new battery(I thought that was the only problem) but turns out there was an underlying problem causing my car to not start even with a perfectly good, new battery. They did all they could to get my car to go and really cared! Very impressed and thankful.

Been to this location several times and never really had any problems.. Sunday I go in the store after speaking to a very helpful guy on the phone to pick up my part. The guy I spoke with was leaving so I was helped by a lady in the store. They had the part ready but when she told me the price I said The guy I spoke to told me under $30) she had just told me $70+... she promptly replied and said Nice try sir .. she was so rude and I had never had that treatment like that in that store before... I told her I was not joking and that I was told just that! When I left the store the other guy was returning, I told him what happened and of course he apologized for her rude actions and said their was not much he could do cause she was the boss... won t be back to that store with management like that running the place, Autozone is right across the road!

Herbert is AMAZING! I came in late this evening after I found out my battery was functioning at 20%. Every other auto parts store told us that a mechanic would have to replace the battery because of where it was located in the hood. After a moment of looking at my car Herbert was able to recommend a replacement and install a new battery, all within 20 mins. He was so knowledgeable and a pleasure working with. Come in and ask for Herbert, you will not be disappointed with your service. Thank you!!

I have always had excellent customer service when coming here. The employees are incredibly helpful and so kind. Herb helped me earlier this week, and he took the time to make sure every part I asked for was perfect and fit to my car exactly. Thank you, Herb!

Over the summer I had a family member that needed a battery replaced, I suggested going here for parts and possibly installed as well. She purchased the battery and had it installed, fast forward to 2 days before Thanksgiving she took it back because battery wouldn't start the car. The young man behind the counter said it was not the battery and gave every excuse as to why he wouldn't just honor the battery warranty. He said it was the alternator. It clearly wasn't. It was a bad cell in a new battery which does happen. What happened to "the customer is always right"?

I've been here twice now, and the customer service is great. I needed bulbs for my car tail lights. The lady asked me if I replaced bulbs before and provided helpful tips. I came back today because my car was having a rough time starting in the cold. I suspected the battery. I first called my mechanic and he wanted me to drop off the car so they could check it out when they had time. I stopped here instead and within a couple of minutes had the problem figured out and at no cost. It was the battery. They replaced it and I was soon on my way. The guy was helpful with what I needed and managed to get the stubborn battery connection off. I love how nice they are and that they got me on my way quickly.

Summary of review: if your check engine light is on, this is the place to go for the diagnostic tests. The friendly, knowledgeable, and honest employees will explain the results and suggest (if needed) options for what to do next.--Every time I visit this store, I'm always impressed with how friendly and helpful the employees are. They are incredibly knowledgeable and willing to answer a plethora of questions if you have them. One of the things I appreciate most about my visits to this store is that I have never felt pressured to but anything. They tell me what the results of diagnostic mean, and if there is an issue, then suggest what I should do to address it. If it's something that they can take care of, then they will tell me about options in the store, but if I need to take my truck to a mechanic, they usually recommend 3-4 local garages. I also appreciate that I've always been given numerous options to consider whether it's products in the store or local mechanics.My experiences at this store include: diagnostic tests (when the check engine light comes on), battery purchase and install, windshield wiper purchase and install, battery check (usually they end up thoroughly clean any corrosion on the terminals), and common auto-related purchases (e.g., air freshener, cleaners, de-icer).

Brought in my dead battery and a great guy there named Mike helped me get it charged, it only took 35 minutes and he also tested it and we found out that my battery needs to be replaced. I brought my car back and they tested the alternator to make sure it was the battery and then he even cleaned off the battery posts since a lot of corrosion and rust had built up. (I didnt buy a new battery then due to other constraints) but they did all of the checks and tests for free and in a timely manner. They were incredibly kind and helpful throughout everything

Most helpful car place ever. They were extremely friendly, honest, swapped my car battery very quickly, and then helped me out with my questions on swapping a part in my car. If they did more thorough repairs on cars, I would go there from now on, without a doubt. Thanks Advance Auto Parts!!!

Jerry is good, without him it would be a 1 star rating. The corporation as a whole needs to get their ship together. There is no reason 4 or 5 year old computer issues should still be a problem.

I've been having a tough month financially, and I'm trying to get my car in shape to sell. Sean and Kameron were more than helpful with everything I needed. I think this is the second review I've ever actually spent the time to write, but these guys at the EL Advance Auto deserve it.

I am someone who knows very little about cars and I don't have anyone to help me when I have car issues. I have no idea even how to replace my windshield wipers. My headlight burned out and I was made aware of it when the popo pulled me over. I came to this store tonight and was thankful they were even open on Sunday and until 8!The manager Fred went above and beyond helping me. I feel really thankful and blessed he was working because I don't think anyone else would have been so kind. If you need help with your car and don't really know what to do I would recommend you come to this store and ask for Fred, the manager!

Went in for a valve cover gasket for a toyota Corolla 4 cylinder. I was very specific and friendly to the employee. He was very dismissive and sold me a valve cover gasket for a Chevrolet v8. Went back in the next day and the person that assisted me was extremely helpful and found me exactly what I needed and made the situation right.
