DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. This is the worst place ever. They really need to close down. The mechanics are not licensed. The owner and workers are not ethical. Your vehicle is at great risk if you bring it here. They care more about their dogs than your car. Trust me DONT DO IT!!!!! Zero Stars

I am extremely disappointed with this business, if you can call it one. They are not professional and certainly do not stand behind their work. I would have given it no stars, but I had to pick at least one star to be able to post this. Please believe that J and L is a no star establishment. Total rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I paid to have them do a complete diagnostic test of my car. They came back with a list of issues which I paid and had them correct. Once I drove off, several lights came on to include Brakes, and Seat fault. I took it back only to learn that they didn t check the brakes or tires, and I had to buy new brake pads and rotors. And the seat had to be removed to clear a fault. ( all at an additional charge) A week later the car stranded me about 15 miles away because the battery died. So took it back again. To get a new battery. And they double charged me for washer fluid. About $5,000 later, still have one unresolved issue that they wanted another $800 to fix, but charged me over $100 additional dollars to diagnose it. This is outside of the original diagnostic fee. Just poor service.

I took my Porsche here and this place was great. They were quick, did great work, and were extremely transparent about everything. I cannot recommend them enough if you have a foreign car.

Brought my VW in telling them it is a throttle issue. They scanned my car, drove it, and moved the plugs around to diagnose it. After a week they hadn't done anything beyond that and hadn't looked at the throttle even after I asked them to. They said they couldn't get it to act up. I took it home and on my way home it acted up. I cleaned out the throttle and fixed a vacuum seal into the throttle and that fixed it. I felt ignored and they had no other diagnostic tools beyond their scanner. They were polite when speaking to me is why I gave them a 2 star instead of 1.

A rip off all day very unprofessional I would not even waste my time taking my wheelbarrow there Dealt with them for 25 years and they got over on me give my car back worse than it was went through my interior stole my keychain first aid kit like what the hell screw these guys if my car broke down in front of their shop I'd push it across the street screw them I got pictures and receipts if anybody needs proof

These guys really saved me. They happened to be right around the corner from where I was working. They happened to have a 23 year old BMW part in stock and had me fixed up before I was even late for work. I won't go anywhere else in Detroit!

Neil and his staff are very knowledgeable and highly trained in BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Jaguars. Between all the mechanics, they have a combined experience of over 175 years!!!! What an absolutely wonderful place. This family owned and operated auto service business really has its act together. The mechanics are knowledgeable and skilled, and they geniunely take pleasure in getting you back on the road! Look forward to my next visit.

I would never recommend anyone to take their vehicle there to be service. They totally rip me off, saying that I needed a water pump when all I needed was a thermostat. Because they never gave me the old water pump, then the next day after water pump was to have been replaced. My car started to over heat,Call them back up , oh well bring it back in so we can check it out, we'll guess what now I need a thermostat, when they knew that from the beginning.Next I needed brake pads and rotors for my B9 Tribeca Subaru , which the charge me $ 500.00 that's just for the front end .So they replaced pads and rotors within a few days I'm hearing metal hitting on metal when I pump the breaks. Call them back up oh bring it in and we will fix it you know it's still under warranty.Had another mechanic to check it out , come to find out J&L put new rotors on but they put some crap pads on there that the mechanic said they were not ceramic pads.Yet they want me to bring my car back so they can do the rear pads and rotors. Which they want to charge me $485.00.Thanks but no thanks , there not honest peopleThey just like robbing you.They going to reap what they sow. What goes around, comes back around.

Stopped in with a flat tire at 6:15 PM on a snowy evening when they close at 6 PM. The mechanics helped me out with no hesitation and even went above and beyond by patching the tire instead of just throwing on the spare donut. The price was very reasonable in a given situation, even more so given the circumstances of this situation.

My name is Anthony and I brought my Mercedes E350 in even though the shop had sub-par reviews because it was only a mile from downtown. I was told that the problem was a rear differential.I was told it would cause $2600 for a used one and 3500 total to get it fixed.I went online and found the same part onE-bay for 300 and took it to Troy Auto Fix where they looked at it for free and charge me $400 for a total of almost $700 so I actually saved $2000.I was also given a estimate to put in a cv inner and outer boot that would take 10 hours to fix and 250 for the parts.i bought the parts on-line for 100 and Troy Auto Fix will do it in 4 to 5 hours for a cheaper hourly rate saving me a additional 750 so please stay away unless you enjoy getting screwed.

Gave me a appointment and estimated time of completion. And work was done in that time frame with great customer service. What more can you ask of a mechanic shop. I will use again!

I had my BMW 530xi to other facilities, that could not solve my AND issues without enormously large cost estimates.J & L repaired the problem(s), at a fraction of the other's estimated cost, and had me on the road the next afternoon.Thank you J & L

they talk a good game but car isnt fixed after 380 for flush still couldnt figure problem still dont know whats wrong with car just outta money this is just what it is .
