Only place I will take the MINI now. Don't go to the stealership. They will overcharge you and will threaten to tow your car if you don't pick up immediately. The techs at Detroit Tuned are awesome. Office personnel are excellent. Everyone went above and beyond and were very thorough. They are far better than dealer level service. After another reputable shop damaged my Mini, I took the 10 hour round trip out to Detroit Tuned, and their service was phenomenal! The owner, technicians, and staff were extremely knowledgeable, and accommodating. They were able to fix the issues and get my car running better than ever. If you own a Mini I highly recommend making the trip out there for your service and repair needs. Their pricing was fair, they spent the extra time to get me back on the road the same day, and they far exceeded all expectations.

Blew my turbo on my JCW Mini Cooper R60 and decided to go ahead and do the R300 upgrade. Called Detroit Tuned and Sarah was super friendly and helpful and was able to answer all my questions. She was very thorough on making sure everything on the order and the tune was correct. She also took her time and made sure all the proper discounts were applied to the order. Fast shipping and attention to detail were on point. A+ to Sarah and the Detroit Tuned team. Thank y all so much, looking forward to working with y all in the future!

Brought my folks' Mini in for a rough idle issue about a month ago These guys were able to diagnose and fix the issue in timely manner at a reasonable price. I haven't had any issues since then and I'm satisfied with the work they've done. They don't try to upsell you or pull any sneaky tactics (*cough cough* Mini Dealership). They are an honest bunch and I will continue to bring my business here.

In 2019 I purchased over the phone the Mini Cooper spare tire kit, total cost $350.87. Was never told by sales nor was there a sticker on the spare indicating back use only. On Wednesday I hit a major pot hole that blew my front tire. When towing service removed blown tire, they couldn t use spare. They said it didn t fit. I thought I bought wrong spare. Neither of us aware that it only fit back end. I called Detroit Tuned, a woman asked me to send photos of spare and vin# which I did. See photo below. I called back after sending info. I was then told by Chris that their tires go out with labels indicating back use only. I was told that since they have no proof other than my word that no one told me about the back tire only use and that the tower should have been aware. My tire never had a sticker on it as they currently show on their website. I realize I purchased in 2019 but this should have been made known. The tower person nor the service person I paid out of pocket for to change tire knew that this tire only goes on the back. Subsequently out $150.00. I didn t expect for Detroit to refund me but some sort of solution could have been reached to make a customer happy. I was basically told that it was their word against mine as they don t know who I spoke with.Service: Tires

The office staff are great. Very helpful and incredibly friendly. The shop itself is very clean and welcoming. I have no doubt that they know their stuff when it comes to Mini Coopers.Unfortunately the back of the shop leaves a lot to be desired.I brought a BMW to them for an alignment. I understand I'm not their usual clientele so I didn't expect them to be intimately familiar with my vehicle. The person who runs the back of the shop questioned me about the front adjustment on the vehicle and said the front camber could not properly be adjusted on my setup. I informed him I have adjusted the camber as well as another shop and explained the process. He argued with me that it wasn't possible so I just asked them to adjust the toe and I'd be on my way. He made a couple other comments in a condescending tone.After a couple hours the car was completed. The alignment sheet showed the only adjustments were to the front toe. The rear was not touched even through it was not in spec with what I asked for. Total price, $175 for a front toe adjustment.Again, I realize my vehicle is not what they normally deal with, but if you don't know how to adjust the suspension on a customers car, admit it and say you don't know how. It's insulting to argue with someone and try to convince them its not possible to adjust it when I know for a fact its completely within the abilities of a proper shop.

Sarah first came to my rescue when I was visiting Detroit in the middle of January and had to drive back to PA in 2 days when my car began overheating. She walked me through what I needed to do immediately and squeezed me in for a last-minute appointment to make sure I made it home without my car blowing up on the way. Fast forward to 6 months later: I m living in Detroit and won t take my car anywhere else. I feel confident knowing that the team at Detroit Tuned are masters of their craft and truly care about their customers without trying to upsell at every corner (Though from what I ve gathered, they have a huge scope of offerings for both regular daily drivers like myself and car connoisseurs who wanting to up-the-anti with after-market upgrades). Both Sarah and Chris in the office and Chad in the shop have been immensely helpful in explaining what s going on with my car and what I need to do to keep her in tip-top shape to live to see another 100K miles. Greatly appreciate the level of service from Detroit Tuned and would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a quality mechanic and fair pricing (X1000000 to MINI owners).Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Bought a bypass valve from them, but they held my order hostage because I evidently found a glitch in their system where I underpaid $12 in shipping. Completely arrogant about it, and wouldn t ship unless I paid them 12 measly dollars over their mistake. I was in a tight spot because of waiting for the part, so I had to get it. No apologies. No thanks for finding the glitch. Just bad attitude over the phone. Not a great way to treat first time customers. Getting a Rooster Racing brand for my next one.

I have only had the pleasure of using Detroit Tuned as a retail shop, but their customer service is excellent. I've ordered a few things and corresponded by both phone and messenger, and they are extremely helpful and quick to answer (via messenger). The products offered are top notch and the prices are great. Will definitely look to purchase from them again and have recommended Detroit Tuned to others.

Finally got back over to Detroit Tuned (I'm from Canada so you know covid and border closure) I was a little bit bummed that some of the staff that I knew before had moved on but to be fair it's been over 3 years and life happens. The new staff Chad has found are amazing! Absolutely no shock there, Detroit tuned is a world-class shop. They put a custom alignment on my car for me and it couldn't be more perfect absolutely dialed in like it's on rails. I picked up all kinds of next to impossible to find parts as well as a few things that you can only get at Detroit Tuned. If you own a MINI and you'd like it to be set up/repaired by absolute experts.. this is the place to go.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I moved to the Detroit area in 2015 and have been using Detroit Tuned since I got here. They are well rounded, honest experts when it comes to MINI Cooper's. I love the fact that you don't get the run around and they don't sell you things you don't need. They've helped keep my MINI Cooper in tiptop running shape and have caught things before they've failed so I can budget for repairs. My one-star review is because of your service writers behavior, I believe her name is Sara. She preferred to argue with me instead of write up a quote. I already had an appointment with you guys to do the alternator bracket/waterpump on my f56. I was told you couldn't get me in until late August and I needed this part installed a lot sooner, I happened to find a MINI dealer that could do it the same week, so I took it to the dealer. Instead of just canceling my appointment with you guys, I called to let you know I'd like to keep my appointment to do some other preventive maintenance. (oil filter housing gasket and an aging hose that was not actively leaking) I asked for a labor quote on the hose as it could have waited until August (by the way, it was not part of the dealer job like you keep saying), and she was rude and kept nagging about if it's been diagnosed by a "professional." (This hose is easily visible in the engine bay without removing anything) And even though i am a mechanic it wasnt worth arguing with someone who had no clue what i was talking about, i was very patient with her and didn't mind all these questions, but after wasting a lot of time on the phone and getting nowhere, I asked to speak with someone else. She said no and told me I could only talk to her. When I insisted on still wanting to speak with someone else, she finally transferred me to a guy who pretty much turned down the job. (im assuming she told him her side of the story while i was on hold). Shortly after our phone call, I received an email saying the appointment i reserved was canceled.I'm fine with dt not wanting to do it, but the way I was treated by her was extremely unprofessional. She even said she doesn't want to work on my car that's been "touched by others" when i told her I'm having the dealer take care of the waterpump. For someone who seemed obsessed with knowing if some preventive maintenance was "diagnosed," im surprised she acted like the MINI dealer was some backyard mechanic. Before this experience, I have heard good things about Detroit Tuned, i can't speak for the mechanics that work there, but your customer service is poor. And if this is how your business treats paying customers, I am very disappointed.

Exceptional service. I placed an order that was drop shipped from the manufacturer and it arrived missing several parts. I called Detroit Tuned and they were immediately in touch with the manufacturer to resolve the issue and I received the missing parts within a week. What a pleasure to work with staff that cares about their customers. Look forward to doing more business with them.

The ONLY place in Michigan to take a MINI! Period.Chad and his team run the most professional and skilled repair shop in Michigan, bar none. Their expertise and knowledge of the MINI is unparalleled and you will always leave knowing you have the best people working their utmost to keep your MINI driving, or racing!, around the city, state, or across the country. They have anything and everything you could need for general upkeep, and plenty of upgrade parts and services to make your MINI track-worthy, even if you just love driving like you stole it on the streets. Their service is impeccable. They are honest and upfront, and they give you all the information you need to make the right decision for your MINI, now and in the long run. I have a 2010 MINI Cooper S, and they have taken superb care of it for most of its life. I even had them install a new engine in 2020 after 135,000 high-rev speeding miles, and it runs like absolute perfection, better than new. I wouldn't take my MINI anywhere else, EVER. You can trust Chad and all the people at Detroit Tuned to treat you like the family you wish you had! I can't thank them enough for their amazing work and superb all-around awesomeness. I will probably keep driving MINIs forever so I never have to look for a new mechanic. If you own a MINI, and you live within driving distance of Detroit Tuned, you really need to know these guys. They are a top-notch shop, stock lots of MINI-unique repair and performance parts, and are just generally great to deal with.

Own a MINI and need service, parts, advice? Detroit Tuned all the way! The finest shop specializing on our "little iron beasts" within the State. Just a fantastic team, from the front desk right on back to the shop ... I trust them 100% with my vehicle. No one but Detroit Tuned will ever work on/touch my 06 MINI, that's not even open for debate. Have had work done twice there and once, picked up a few small parts ... terrific service every time.It's difficult these days to find a trustworthy shop ... well, look no further. You won't find a more reasonably priced and friendly shop around. This includes the most knowledgeable folks regarding your vehicle anywhere in Michigan. No matter what size the job, you will receive an attention to detail rarely seen these days. Whether you stop in for a simple oil change or you are looking for high performance parts to get that MINI out on the track ..... Detroit Tuned will not disappoint.

Chad seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I took my 2004 Mini Cooper S,that I had just inherited from my late father, in for an oil change. Even though they were extremely busy he was able to fit me in that Friday. He performed the oil change himself and looked over the car and gave me a full list of everything that was wrong with it. Fantastic customer service, I have a follow up appointment scheduled soon and will be having all of my work done there.

Well, this was my second encounter with Detroit Tuned. My first was in 2019 when I happened to be going to Michigan on a quick trip. I attended their shop and had a great experience with the staff, they were helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with . I recently purchased some engine parts on line and they initially quoted me a certain shipping cost but I received a nice refund of half the shipping. It was not expected, they also were quick to refund me a small amount for parts missed in the order.Again, good communication and a great place to purchase from.I m Canadian, and the price for parts here are exceptionally expensive comparatively.Thanks again, Mar Ethier

I've been to the shop twice for oil changes and have had a great experience both times. Chad is a great guy and really know cars. I don't own a mini but that doesn't stop them from being very accommodating and helpful. I have a appointment for suspension work this week and am looking forward to the wonderful job they do. It's great to have a trusted performance shop nearby.

I called and spoke with Chad about getting a quote to replace a transmission selector switch on my F60, Chad advised me that this was more than likely able to be covered under warranty even though the dealership was giving me the run around. When everything was said and done I got the dealer to cover this $2000 repair under warranty. I appreciate Chad s honesty and his willingness to give me guidance. I don t need any work done at the moment but as soon as I need something done that isn t under warranty I am giving him my business. Integrity and customer service counts.

Hey Detroit Tuned I finally got rid of that oil leak on my 2009 Cooper S with the Super kit. Great quality part way better than the oil line that came with my Mini.

I won't be going back. I had Detroit Tuned install a Stage 2 Power Upgrade along with a Turbo Oil Line Superkit on my Mini Cooper. Chad made me feel like he was doing me a favor by allowing them to work on my car. My car is in great shape and I paid full for the work. When I questioned the quality of a part they used, Chad commented that it should be no problem because, of course, I would bring my car to them for any future work required. I had to twist his arm to make it right. I will pay a premium for great service. This is a hobby for me, not a necessity. I guess I'll drive to Motorwerks on the other side of town in the future. Detroit Tuned is worth every star of a 5 star rating. I have used them for multiple orders; exhaust, gaskets and clutch rebuilds to name a few. The quality of the goods is exceptional, delivery is beyond outstanding ... my order arrived lightning fast ... and the staff is super helpful and extremely polite. They are my go to Mini parts supplier without exception. If you are looking for a super reliable parts supplier, then Detroit Tuned should be it.
