I know its a team effort to keep these boats in running order but I don't know everyone's name at Irish. I can only name twow Alison and Josh who have done an outstanding job this summer in getting my boat in shape to do the loop. All systems are go including engine work and lots of electronics upgrades. Thanks for a great job by the whole team.

These guys AR such crooks they will charge you double 4 everything and the Paris UN agreement. I will probably have to hire a lawyer 2 get my boat from these con artist.

Original repairs July 2018: Took my boat in for minor repairs to aging gasket parts and prop shaft seal in the port outboard engine. They did everything possible to overcharge. I got a quote and held them to it in the end. They would have charged me 5x the quote had I not questioned their integrity. Be very careful here. My service was mishandled from start to finish. I guess I learned the hard way why they were available and the other 5 mechanics I called were a month out.Updated review 5.2019: In October of 2018 I checked the gear lube in the repaired engine and it appeared to have water in it again. Rick from Irish Boat Shop asked me to bring it in the Spring to have it looked at.I spent the morning at Irish with Rick, Fred, and Josh. Josh found that one of the fill screws might have been compromised. The screw was replaced and hopefully we are in the clear now. I appreciate that they took the time to go over the engine with me.Although it doesn't excuse the massive overcharge, miscommunication, and part breakage on the last repair, it does make me more confident in their ability to repair, and ultimately make a bad situation better. It was a lot of extra time and stress for me but now I feel like the engine is ready for the season.Knowing who is working on my engine makes me more confident in the service too. Josh really knows, and cares, about his service.Thank you Irish Boat Shop for taking the time to make this right and for not charging me anything extra. The star rating has been updated one star since the original review.

We stayed at the Ferry Ave Dock and it is probably the worst Marina we stayed at. On the positive side, the view of Lake Charlevoix is stunning and the dock hand was helpful and friendly. On the negative side, the Ferry Ave Dock is about a 1/4 mile from the regular Irish Marina and consequently there is virtually no service. We never saw a single employee in our three day visit (other than the dock hand who helped us in), there is no ice machine, and the bathrooms are in a trailer. If you need anything from service or the ship store it s a very long walk to the main marina. I could live with all this had the marina told me in advance but they made no mention of it. If you are going to stay at Irish, do not stay at the Ferry Ave Dock.

Rock Stars! We recently ran our boat up to Charlevoix from Gr. Haven. On the way up, the stainless retaining clip on the port side K-Plane broke, causing the plane to malfunction. We visited Irish / Charlevoix @ 8am Monday morning looking for help. They immediately removed the hydraulic cylinder and sent it out for rebuild and secured the plane so we could still use the boat. Thursday morning they re-installed the rebuilt plane and we were on our way, saving our vacation.Prompt, courteous, and professional; I can't say enough good about Irish Boat Shop. Thanks Irish!

First time boat owner/buyer about 3 years ago. I had a lot to learn and had many first-timer questions (that many marinas acted as though they didn't have time for). Worked with Joe Herzog. Despite the fact our first time purchase wasn't a big ticket item for Irish Boat Shop, Joe took the time to answer all my questions and make sure I felt at ease with this purchase. We traveled almost 300 miles from South Bend to Charlevoix to buy the right boat from the right shop. Three summers later, hundreds of trouble free hours on the water, and our lil SeaRay has made us lots of memories. I'd highly recommend Irish Boat Shop!

We called ahead for a part, the service department was very friendly. When we arrived they remembered us calling, and got our part quickly, and talked with us on how to install it. Very helpful.

We arrived late in Charlevoix and the marina was closed, and the municipal and other private marina was full. We found an empty slip on the outer wall. We left early in the am before the marina opened. We called the next day to pay by credit card. Another boater gave us the bathroom code (I am sure there is a "dark web" site somewhere where you can get the codes at every marina!). I think they were a little surprised that we called to pay up. $45 for the night for our 26 foot sail boat. Facility was very nice and clean in good repair if not a luxurious facility with tons of amenities.

We've had our family yacht stored and maintained here for 30 years. I can only say good things. They go out of their way to help anytime we ask. We will be coming back for as long as we're on Lake Charlevoix.

Simply the best marine sales and service operation in Northern Michigan, with a national reputation for sailboat maintenance, customization and race preperation. including fabrication, joinery, glass and brightwork, rigging, electronics and electrical.Irish also offers complete year-round care for your sail or power boat up to 60+'from launch and commissioning to winterization, and storage with multiple options -- outdoor plus indoor cold or heated.

Used to have a slip there but the service girl was so rude I moved marinas.... they also ruined one of my winches on my sailboat and then claimed ignorance... one of the mechanics finally told the truth. they have a monopoly and take advantage of it.

We are storing our boat/trailer with them. They are located adjacent to the public launch site in Charlevoix. Friendly service and very reasonable fees.

Fred from charlevoix location was extremely unprofessional. Very rude and I will never shop or do any sort of business with Irish again.
