My first experience here a few months ago was not a positive one. But I decided to revisit them after reading all the recent positive feedback and reviews. This visit was MUCH better! The new guy and girl they have at the front desk are very personable, they should always be the first point of contact. The guy was not at all offended when I asked questions about the repair, as is the case many times. Good experience!

Tom at Northland Automotive was very helpful and ensured my service needs were met. My Honda needed special transmission fluid, which other shops refused to order and service. Tom ordered the fluid and was able to service my Honda quicker than any shop in the area. Tom provided a quality tire consultation as well, and my Honda has never been quieter and smoother on the highways. I'll be using Northland Automotive for all of my maintenance and service needs from now on!

The shop was well maintained (Rockford Location) and the staff was great! Quality service at a reasonable price. This will be our go to for all of our vehicle needs.

Trustworthy mechanic, hard to find these days. We never have any Reservations taking our vehicles here. Friendly, professional and fair priced. Been our mechanic for over a year now. Thanks Adam!

Erica in the office was great, but the mechanic Jeremy was not. He walked out and screamed at me about a bolt being stripped. Ooops sorry Dude. I think you need to talk to someone about your anger. The labor rate is 99/hr you would think that would be enough to deal with just about any problem. What a jerk. I was really hoping this was my new car place.

Stopped today during the horrible snow because traveling with my family got a nail in my tire. They got us right in and on our way. Everyone was very nice and i would recommend them to anyone in that area

Faced with an unexpected repair, these guys got me in that afternoon and had it fixed the next day when everyone else said two weeks.They gave me an estimate for far less than I feared, stuck to it, and returned the car working perfectly!Beat that!

Uh, they didn't call me when my vehicle was done. It was Friday and I NEVER received a call and now I have to rent a vehicle for the weekend (which I was not planning on) this will cost me more money because they failed to do so. Thanks a lot

I cannot thank northland auto enough for the quick, respectful, and kind service I received. My husband and I were driving up north and my serpentine belt snapped. By the (literal) grace of god we limped into the shop and they took care of the belt under an hour. I wish we lived up here to utilize them as our mechanic all the time! Highly recommend.

We were on our way north and right before Cedar Springs the truck broke down. We called Northland Automotive and even tho they are very busy they fit us in to check things out. Their staff is so welcoming, kind, and friendly. Not only are they straight shooters about the problem with our vehicle they also have fair prices. Adam got us back into the road after about 3 hours when the first two shops we called didn t have time for us. They fit us in and we are so grateful because we are still able to go on our camping trip!! thanks Northland!! :)

Alternator went out on our way up north for the weekend. Was the only place that could get us in and out the same day.Recommend a tow service that was helpful and professional too.If I lived in the area I would use them as my main mechanic.Service: Engine repair

I am really grateful for this mechanic shop. They are quick to get my vehicle in and fixed. They are honest and up front about my car's issues as well as the costs. They are friendly and they are more than fair in their pricing. I appreciate the level of communication and transparency they have with me and I will continue to recommend them to the people around me.

Adam and the crew are great at Northland Auto. Their goal is to get your vehicle in, take care of it and get you out and on your way. Excellent service and reasonable pricing. I took in my 4Runner to get the rear hatch lock replaced. I was out of there in less than an hour. Yes, it was not a big job, however they didn t want me to leave the car and come back. They took care if it while I was there. Thank You!

Revised ReviewAfter my first experience with Northland Auto I wrote, "I received fast friendly affordable service."My second experience did not go so well. They have a coupon that reads, "FREE BRAKE INSPECTION." I needed some brake work and called Adam to ask about prices and if the inspection would be free. I told him my car's make and model, and he assured me the inspection would be free. When he called with a quote, he said that he did not do the rear brake inspection and would have to charge me for this inspection. It would not be free. When I challenged him on his earlier statement and offered to split the charge for the inspection and then have him do the brake work, he refused.I wasted a lot of time with this. I want to go to an auto service shop that I can trust to stand by what they say, or at least make some effort to compromise over an error they make. Adam refused to do this. I will not be going back, and I suggest you think carefully about trusting them with your car and money.Service: Brakes

Took our car there for a new alternator and set of tires. Very happy with the service and pricing. Adam gave a full quote before performing the work and let me know it may be a little cheaper depending on which alternator needed to be installed.I would happily take me vehicle back here.Services: Tires, Electrical

My car broke down while heading up north. The towing company took it to the local Jeep service station. Being a Sunday, everything was closed. The Jeep dealership said they wouldn t even be able to look at my car for a week, even though I was stranded, alone, and three hours from home. I called Northland Automotive (hotel employee highly recommended). Owner immediately did what he could to help me. Was hoping to have my car fixed within 24 hours. I had it towed there. Upon inspecting the car, and seeing it was an easy fix, my car is hoisted and being worked on. Their goal was to get me safely on the road ASAP. If I lived closer I would have my car serviced here always. Very profession, friendly and very clean. Highly recommend.

Couldn t recommend Northland more. The initial quote came in above our budget and Adam helped us understand our options and we came up with a solution that fell within the budget. After the work was done, I misunderstood a couple of things on the final invoice and again, Adam not only took the time to patiently explain the charges (and credits), he encouraged the questions for transparency s sake. My wife s car is running better than it has in years!

Mother went in and was told yoke and driveshaft was bad so I called to inquire. I didn't understand what part of yoke was leaking and was told they didn't know but it was leaking. Spoke with technician and he said it was cap in center of yoke. Ok, told them I needed to get more info and would get back with them. they then called her and said she was not welcome to come back. I was not rude, just inquiring on bad part. Some great customer service. I never said they had any bad intentions yet they call and tell her she isn't welcome. I'd do it myself but live 2 hours away, the shop is supposed to be our eyes and ears yet can't explain the issue. Then to tell her not to come back because we are inquiring on their discoveries what kind of shop operates like that. If I could leave no stars I would

Just read Chris Hammond's review and he brings up a real good point. ANY reputable shop will allow a customer to see what they're doing and explain it briefly. Josh goes above and beyond for all his customers and my experience has been no different. Great attention to detail, timeliness and very fair pricing. Can't ask for much more than that.

I highly recommend Northland Automotive. Dave is honest and trustworthy. He was able to accommodate my schedule and installed the brakes on our Subaru in a professional manner. I will continue to use Northland Automotive for future car service needs. I also appreciated how he recognized and advised on other service issues that will need to be addressed in the near future.

Had a great first experience at Thomas and Sons Auto Repair. Josh, the owner is very knowledgeable and good at communicating issues with the vehicle that are easy for someone with not much auto knowledge to understand. When there was a bit more work to be done than initially thought, he went above and beyond and still got my vehicle done the day he said it would be. Great service and would not hesitate to recommend!

This place was excellent! We were stranded and they got us in super fast and the owner was so kind, friendly and attentive. They said it could take an hour or more to change the alternator and it was done in under 45 minutes. Very pleased with this business
