My vehicle had broken down and my own father referred this place. These people said it'd be 500 dollars before they could give me an accurate estimate. Which could be within reason I don't know, I decided to scrap the vehicle regardless and shouldn't have told them my intentions. My issue is with how this business handled my personal property following this. I had a brand new battery in the vehicle with no previous issues with it being drained. It sat six days... that is there explanation for it being dead when I receive my property back. Not only that but I'm a tradesmen and had power tools and batteries stolen from my trunk along with dumbbells. I left them a message to check their camera and received a less than respectful call from a secretary now having to do work to inform me she was "looking" and I've never heard back since. I wouldn't be surprised if an employee didn't take my things at this point. This is how this business treats their community's veterans and tradesmen! Beware!Update: I only received a follow up call after posting this public negative review the next morning incase anyone needs to get in touch apparently this is the most effective way but all you'll get is denial instead of accountability.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I would give a 1000 stars if I could. They went far and beyond to help me. My engine needed to be replaced and when they did, they found out my transmission needed fix too and the car wasn't worth being fixed. They chargesd me far less than the time and effort they put into it. Would highly recommend them to anyone and they will always have my business.

Highly recommend Dutton Automotive. Started with Dutton Automotive when Fred Wiltse moved his business customers to their location. Fred had all of our vehicle repair business for 30+ years.Chris and his staff have maintained our 3 vehicles since and we ve been very happy with the results.Honest opinion of work needed and provides heads up of upcoming PM work needed at next oil change like brakes, shocks, struts and other wear our items.

The lovely folks here always fix up my car when it starts making weird sounds. They are extremely kind and don't try to rip you off like other places. You can tell they are honest and hardworking. They always try to get to the bottom of things and they help work within my budget when needed. It's worth the 25 minute drive for me. A good, trustworthy mechanic is gold!

I don't leave many reviews and am particular with where I service my vehicles. That being said after multiple engagements with Dutton Automotive, I felt compelled. Service is fast, done well, and very fairly priced. What can I say that hasn't already been said about Dutton Automotive? These folks are top notch. They are quick with their service and responses to questions about your vehicle. They stand behind their work and will go out of their way to make sure the customer understands what they did to the car and what to expect going forward. You will drive your car way with weight lifted off of your shoulder knowing it was taken care of so well by these lovely people. I will be referring all of my friends and family to them.

Chris and all his workers are great. They have fixed numerous items on several of our vehicles. Each repair task begins with a cost estimate. The work is always completed promptly and without any surprise additional charges. Got my oil change here very nice people straight forward. They don't sugar coat anything. No hidden fees. Quite reasonable prices. Very upfront. Highly recommend.

I have gone to a lot of automotive shops in the Grand Rapids area for my car. All of them were trying to charge me a lot of money for a temporary fix; that is not the case with this company. This company is a welcoming, honorable, efficient company that has the customers best interest at heart. They are cost effective, reliable and when you walk in they immediately treat you like family. I am a happy customer and I look forward to coming here for all my automotive repairs!

Absolutely hands down the BEST place to go to for anything for your car! The owner is amazing along with all of his crew, and I have never met such caring and honest people! Chris & Mark set the bar with their amazing customer service at Dutton Automotive. Have been taking my car here since 2017 when I had a huge engine repair that needed to be done and they saved my car. They re always honest & upfront on what repairs can wait vs what needs to be done asap. They are willing to work with you & around your schedule, again, awesome customer service. I know nothing about cars and they re always there to help when needed & when I have questions about anything. Nice people, however, Repair Estimates have been very high when compared to other shops.... so they have not actually done any work for me in spite of the fact that I have gotten estimates from them a number of times. I think they are so busy they don't care if they get the job or not. I wish I could give them a better review, but I want to be honest. In fairness to them, they have not charged me for those estimates.

Chris and his team at Dutton Automotive are AWESOME. My wife and I moved to the area a few years a go and finally had to find a mechanic. I called several different places first and got quotes on my repairs, Chris was by far the friendliest and had great prices. Our first experience with Chris was great and we have been in a few more times recently and he has always been wonderful, understanding of our time and very thorough. We won't use another mechanic in the area!

I have been taking my car here for a few years and I have ALWAYS been happy with the service, the work done to my car and prices I've paid. Like one fellow reviewer said, they can tell you what can wait and what should really be fixed at that time. I feel like they are a very honest place with great service and good pricing. Highly recommend! :)

I've taken my vehicles to Dutton Auto for years. The owner Chris, is honest and goes above the mark in service. It's what you'd hope for when having an expensive investment such as a vehicle. A good Christian man and honors that with his customers. Honored to know him as a friend! Great job!

Dutton Automotive has been nothing but amazing. Kind workers. Efficient. Very helpful. They have told me to look into extended warranty so that I could save money, and that is beyond kind and thoughtful of them to help me save a buck. I've never had issues here and I will always be a customer with Dutton Automotive. Without a doubt I recommend their services!

I can not stress enough how wonderful Dutton Automotive is. I have had more of my share of emergencies , and they always go above and beyond to get me right in. They have always been very honest with me. I have never felt anything but 100% confidence in them. I would and do recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I've taken my vehicles to Dutton Automotive since my very first car when I was 16 and they have always provided EXCELLENT service! When money was tight they would let me know what repairs could wait (and how much I needed to save up) and what was important to do right away. They are friendly and always willing to make sure you understand your service.

Amazing mechanics! They have always been honest and reasonable. They have given me 18 year's of amazing service; I've never had a bad experience. They go above and beyond, they always communicate with you before they begin work; no surprise costs. Most repairs will be done in a day.

New Customer in 2020. My former shop stopped doing little work and i was referred here. They have done work on both of my vehicles (2014 Town and Country & 2015 Ford Explorer) and are nothing but courteous, professional, fair, and honest. Chris the owner seems like a stand up guy that takes great pride in his business.The only challenge I foresee is them staying caught up with the business at hand. When you are truly a great business like they are - the business will inevitably continue to grow.
