My family and I enjoyed our stay at Evergreen Resort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a suite and loved the fireplace. The pool was warm and I was able to enjoy it with my children. There were bathrooms right next to the pool, which is not always the case with hotel pools. Breakfast in the morning was great and well staffed. My family and I will be returning.

Rooms are nice. Quiet because off season. Heat/Cool a little confusing but click winter for heat and summer for cool (AC unit is separate controls). Nice big breakfast, even considering we were like one of two families staying. If you want any cleaning or "turnover" service, you've gotta tell the front desk before 10pm.

Yuk, this place was nice but the last couple decades have been hard on it. Let s start with the Renovated room, try they were renovated 20 years ago. Ours had holes in the walls, rust on the fixtures and we found a very confusing layout to the room with open doors blocking the bathroom. The restaurant and pool room show the same disgusting stains all over, floors, walls, & ceiling. There s only 6 chairs in the pool room. Supposed to be open at 6 but post it note says 9, we were here for that benefit. Exercise room has booze bottles in it at 8:30am,, pizza boxes and trash lined up in the hall during our entire stay. Not much staff or management involved. I imagine someone is milking this place until it s condemned. Also several people living here. Saw there kids playing soccer in the parking lot while dad does a break job on his car. Shady AF. Great location and they let us check in early!

The room was fine. It was clean albeit a weird odor of used cooking oil however, the service was off. I expected to come back to the room turned over and it was not. I was told by the staff that I had to ask for that came back to the hotel after a long day at work and my keys did not work. The hallway and stairwells were extremely dirty.

We just went to eat dinner. I had a Ruben sandwich, it was disgusting the meat part was sliced up dried beef or whatever you want to call it corned beef, have never had a Reuben made like that in my life. If you don't have the corned beef to make it like it should be then take it off the menu. The rest of my family had the fish which was Friday night special no one came back around to see if we wanted any more. The waitress was very slow and not very attentive there were six of us that's not a hard table everyone had the fish except for me and the little grandson that was with us. Just ridiculous

Love this place! My husband and I go every year for our anniversary. Usually we have a great meal right at the resort, this year the cook was sick so we ventured out to find another delicious place. The rooms are always clean. We always stay right on the golf course in the pet friendly rooms so we can bring our furry kid. The pool and hot tub are always clean and ready to use. Also, you can't beat a huge variety of breakfast before you head on to your day.

Only played golf. Course was much nicer than I expected! Bring a few extra golf balls because it is tight in spots and undergrowth is thick in the woods. But cut and trimmed nicely. Greens, fairways, and tees were in great shape. Beautiful, challenging layout through mature diverse trees. Some cleanup and bunker work needed, but overall great course.

The indoor pool was nice, but the changing room was pretty dated and the locker room shower didn't warm up. No big deal, just not great.I didn't golf, so no comments there.Staff seemed pleasant enough. Here's where the Evergreen lost the stars. The Room: The room itself was dated, the carpets were dingy and felt like they needed a good shampooing. There was some odd spray paint above the toilet and a ceiling tile with a large brown water stain. All of that would maybe bring it to a three star given the price point of the hotel.Paper-thin Walls: this is where the Evergreen earned a two star rating. The walls must have been a mm thick in this place because I could hear everything. EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, everything included, not just hallway noises, TV sounds and conversations, but also my neighbor suffering from either too much to drink or food poisoning.I was there for a work thing - so, perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't needed to be up early.Take home message: Do not expect privacy at the Evergreen. Also, bring your noise cancelling headphones.

Bathroom ceiling had an old water stain, pillows were like sleeping on a hockey puck. The breakfast buffet advertised as full buffet. Hard eggs, only sausage, ucky chopped potatoes, they did have a selection of breads, juice, yogurt and breakfast bars. Wait staff was very nice though. Room walls are very thin too. Overall the room rate is way too much. I don t understand how they are receiving 4 stars. I think I only saw 2 reviews that liked the place. They must have low standards. I should ve read the reviews.

Exceeded my expectations: I was skeptical after reading the negative reviews, but I was with a golf group, and the organizer booked us here.I stayed in room 155, and it was completely updated. New shower and tub insert, tile floor, toilet, vanity, sink, textured wallpaper, etc.The room has two queen beds (brand new), and they are comfortably firm. Everything in the room is new, including the carpet. The carpet, however, has a dark brown and black pattern that may give the illusion that it's dated, but looking closely, you'll see its brand new threads! What is not new is the doors. They are the dark wood, heavy-duty doors, and the room decor kinda blends with that color. So even though the rooms are fresh and nicely remodeled, the darker colors might give the illusion that the rooms are dated, but I assure you, they are not.I will stay in room 155 again, on my next trip up. I'm a little high maintenance, and this suited me just fine, especially since I expected the worst because of others' reviews. In a separate building, there is a LARGE POOL, Sauna, and large hot tub. There is plenty of deck space to lounge around and hang out. The large windows bring in a lot of natural light while also giving you a view of the outdoors. There are two restaurants here: One is Curly's Bar & Grill where you can get lunch and dinner. The other is named Passage North, and that's where the breakfast buffet is served. That's a large, more formal area, but I think they only do breakfast here at the moment (I could be wrong). We got a breakfast pass/coupon with our reservation, and breakfast was great!!!! Fresh fruit, bagles, toast, pastries, eggs, sausage, biscuits, potatoes, etc. We ate here twice on our visit. The Curly's staff was great. They seemed a little understaffed for as many folks that came in this weekend, but the 3 waitresses and one fella who showed up worked together and did a great job of getting to everyone. There were a few large groups, and the staff earned their money, especially Cindy Snifter, Paige Uber, and Miss Shorty. These girls hustled to make sure we had drinks and everything else we asked for. Thank you, ladies! That goes for housekeeping, too. When we got back to our rooms, the beds were made, the room was cleaned up, and fresh towels were provided.Jill in the pro shop sold me a new club, and it turned out to be a magic putter! She said I would sink impossible putts, and I did!!!The course was in decent shape. The golf carts were shockingly fast, and it was a great round to finish up our 3 of 3 courses played this weekend. If you read this far, give it a thumbs up. You certainly earned it.All I can say is, don't believe the negative reviews. If you're here and something doesn't meet your expectations, tell the staff, and they will make it right. This place exceeded my expectations, and I will be back with another golf group next season!Rooms: We stayed in freshly updated rooms. 155 is where I stayed. It was like brand new.Nearby activities: Golf nearby courses, a short drive away. Town has everything you'll need, it's about a 8 min drive.Food & drinks: Curly's is where you have dinner and drinks. Passage North is where you have breakfast. Both are in the same building.

I had my wedding in the area so we got a block at the evergreen. While we had a good experience otherwise, there were several things stolen from my room on my wedding day. I was the only one who had a key and never gave one to anyone so I know it had to have been housekeeping. I wasn t missing any bags only items out of them so I know I didn t leave anything somewhere else and obviously checked anyway but nothing came up. A hair waver tool, sound machine, necklace and earrings and a charger block that you can jump cars with. We have been going back and forth with the hotel trying to speak to a manager but we can never get ahold of her and they assure us that they haven t found anything. So frustrating. The items were in my room Friday night and then gone when I went back to my room from the salon I had my bridal hair and makeup done at on Saturday afternoon. If it was one item it wouldn t be as big of a deal but lots of my expensive things gone without a trace. Very disappointing.

No lack of rooms at Evergreen Golf Resort. I was traveling for work, so no golfing this trip, but I did make use of the hottub, Curley's lounge, and Passage North. Formerly known as Mcguire's, where I used to have company meetings in the 80's, this place has history. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Had a slight problem with the entry door to my room, which earned the resort a downgrade to my rating. Beyond that, I had a lot of fun wandering through the connecting buildings at the resort. The room was functional, and the bed was comfortable as well.

Two stars is being generous, I would not recommend this hotel. Before I arrived I called to confirm my reservation because I did not receive a confirmation email. Any time I called they were incredibly rude and said they sent an email, I called three times and talked to different people but each person seemed to busy for me.The rooms are very old and outdated. The outside door was shattered and the view out my room was a red stucco wall. While in the hot tub, the maintenance guy said he was going to add water, it was cold hose water. It would have been more considerate to wait till no one was in the hot tub to make the tub an ice bath.I asked in the restaurant if I could take a plate to my room to heat up some food, the lady was incredibly rude and incompetent. She said she'd give me a Styrofoam container, I told her that can not be microwaved. She was not helpful and unwilling to do anything for customer service.Rooms: OutdatedNearby activities: Snow adventures in winterGolf in warm weatherWalkability: NoneFood & drinks: Restaurant on siteNoteworthy details: Don't expect good service or nice amenities

We just finished a two-night stay & play package and our group was very happy. First, the hotel staff, food, and room was awesome. Very comfortable bedding was much appreciated after a few days of busy golf. Curlys bar was good bar food with very fun & attentive staff. The hot breakfast buffet each morning was also quite good. The golf courses could use a little work but we were overall very pleased and will be back!

I loved the atmosphere and the rooms. I took my family and kids there . Of course when we go this time of year,it is specifically for the pool. No one told us the pool and hot tub would be closed down. The whole family was very disappointed and let down. We live over 2 hours away from Cadillac so I was not about to turn around and go back home. I'm just hoping in the future this does not happen to anyone else .Safety: The big wooden bed frame jumps out and bites you. Becareful and be wear. My leg is bruised and sore.
