So, I did a little research, took a chance, and couldn t have been better pleased with myself and Sam Tillema & Mrs Tillema! I bumped into excellent customer service, warm dialogue, and honest fair pricing on a vehicle I m pretty sure will get my family safely where we have to be. Happy I made the drive!

These guys did the job on my passenger side bolts to my wheel. The price was perfect, it literally cost what i would have expected based on the per hour cost of labor and the parts. This is a great place to work with. Talking on the phone is a little choppy because the shop is loud but i will be going to them for anything we cant do at home!

Very happy with the service. Had the spark plugs and coils replaced in my Toyota Avalon. No issues. They had a better price than my usual mechanic and they managed to get my car in quickly. Service manager was polite and professional.Service: ElectricalService: Electrical

Very disappointed with this business. I took my car in for an oil change and when I picked it up they told me that I needed brakes/rotors...$850 plus labor. My friend works at a dealership and checked my car and I have 1-2 years before I need brakes. Makes me wonder about the work they did in May when I took it in for a tuneup and whatever they did cost around $800 and the noise in the front never went away. So unfortunate that I could never trust them again for anything I might need done.Service: Oil change

I love this place. they are truly honest and fair mechanics! they offer great value by refusing to use aftermarket parts they know won't last. I have traveled from Traverse City to use them. The inexpensive rental cars they have are a real life saver. I cant recommend them more strongly!Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Tillema is one if those shops where everyone in my family go to. Highly reliable, trustworthy, and knowledgeable in their craft.They can be in the high-end cost wise depending on the type of work you need done. When I got my engine fully replaced, went with these guys due to my past history with them rather than another place that quoted cheaper. Also know that I am in good hands with them and my car.Highly recommend them for any car fix. Appreciate that they have loaner cars in case your car is in the shop for a few days and you need to get to and from work.

They are genuine and respectful employees. I would highly recommend using this automotive store. They genuinely care about people and their customers. They even helped me out personally and helped me get into my locked vehicle and went above and beyond service to help me out.

Tillema Auto does great work at a good price. They are very honest, when I had to get my car fixed, I agreed to have it fixed for roughly $850, when they looked further at my car they realized they didn't need to fix some things that I had agreed to fix, they charged me $350 instead. This is a very honest company and you know you are getting the best price when you do business with them.

Excellent work, friendly service, reasonable prices!I am a first time customer to Tillema Auto Service and was extremely impressed all around. The shop's service manager, Brian, was very helpful and able to get my son's car in right away for a repair. The repair was completed very fast and at a very reasonable price. I couldn't ask for anything more. I started as a first time customer and will be a regular customer going forward!

They have been amazing! Best car I ve ever had I got from here, Sam helped me find the best car at a time when good used cars were hard to find. Their service department team are also kind, efficient, and take good care of you! Highly recommend!

I dealt with Sam on one of their cars I found on Cargurus. He met with me on a Saturday morning to accommodate my two and a half hour drive to get there. After allowing me to take a thorough test drive and answer all of my questions, we came together on a price. I picked up the car on the following Saturday morning. The whole process was quick and simple. Sam was friendly, honest and professional. I'm very pleased with the entire experience and the car is great. Thanks Sam.

I was changing my tire and had a hard time getting three of the nuts off because they were stripped. I wasn t sure what i could do after that so i went to Tillema auto and told them my issues. They had no problem checking out my car and use of their tools to get those nuts off. Also put my new tire on and filled it up with air for me. I am so thankful for whoever helped me out today! you really helped me out, more then just a tire. Thank you!!

It s hard to rate a place based on prices compared to repairs. It seemed pretty pricy, but I have 0 mechanical knowledge. My only complaint is that I wished they would have asked before they started fixing my car is all.Service: ElectricalService: Electrical

I've been taking our cars to Tillema's for the past 10 years. Car repairs are never fun, but these guys are just the best. They're friendly to work with and have always been fair. Recently I had a vehicle in and they advised me to *not* invest any more into it because of its age and deterioration. On another occasion our only vehicle broke down and had to be towed in. They managed to have it fixed the next day for us. Most of my family members bring their vehicles here �very trustworthy shop. You won't be disappointed.

Tillema's is my go-to place for any automotive repair or part. They never try to rip you off for a quick buck, and take the time to explain everything. It is rare today to find a garage that truly puts their customers first. I recommend them to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price.

Mike was awesome to deal with. We just purchased a 2011 Chevy Colorado for our business. The truck was delivered in great condition and the whole process only took a few minutes, none of this back and forth stuff you get from a typical dealership. Honest people. I would buy another car from them for sure.

They were able to do some emergency work on our vehicle and got us back on the road in a very short time. We were extremely happy with the service and the work done, and the pricing was very, very fair. I would go there all the time if weren't from out of town.

Mike and Sam. What can I say, Outstanding! Whether buying a used car or you need service, Tillema Auto sales and service is the place to go. Quality work, at a fair price. The guys at Tillema's are honest, helpful and offer "small-town" customer service (and that's meant as a compliment!). Can't think of a better place to bring your car if you live on the south side of Grand Rapids...

I took my car here just to see if they could tell me if what I was suspecting was wrong was actually the issue they were busy but said they would get to it in a day or so . I then find out they went in and fixed it with out my consent. Never gave me a price or anything until it was already done. So then I could not get my car out until it was paid for. I will never take my car here again. They cannot be trusted.

I have been coming to Tillema Auto Service for years. I only trust them with my vehicles for several main reasons -1.) They are always honest with me. In my experience, this seems to be a very rare quality possessed by very few service shops these days. Unlike other mechanics shops I have "tried" in the past, I have never been mislead or lied to by Tillemas.2.) They treat you with respect and they go out of their way to ensure that you don't feel dumb if you have a question that other shops would consider silly, simple or futile. They are very friendly and always have a smile on their face - especially the main guy up front, Brian (his enthusiasm, smile, and friendliness are contagious).3.) They are very fair and competitive when it comes to pricing and beyond for everything they offer.4.) They stand by their work and it is very apparent that they take pride in all the work they perform. I have never been presented with shotty fixes or sneaky shortcuts with Tillema's. Their quality of work speaks for itself.5.) They are all very knowledgeable and have always been able to answer my questions above and beyond my expectations all while exhibiting noteworthy patience.

I always take my vehicles here to be serviced. They are great, always professional, honest and fairly priced. We bought my wife's car from here as well and it has been a good car. Highly recommend Tillema.

Moved to Byron Center recently and stopped in to have a slow tire leak repaired, and mentioned what I thought was front end trouble..They fixed my tire, replaced two inexpensive front end parts for less than $10. Manager was very informative and helpful. I'll be using them in the future.

If you're looking for an honest, fair priced, and high quality mechanic, Tillema is the place. The dealer had quoted me triple the price that Tillema ended up charging me. Excellent service and workmanship.

We drove 2 1/2 hours for Mike Tillema to NOT bother cutting us a deal what so ever on a van he had over priced because it has been into an accident. The pictures online weren't even the same van! The van we looked at had more miles than the one in the pictures and you could clearly tell that it had been into a serious accident. Mike lied and told me that it was in a minor accident, but then when he got the carfax he said he was mistaken and it hadn't been in an accident, but the bumper and one whole side clearly showed that it had. The front window had caulk on it. Something must've been wrong with it. And after all of this he would "budge" on the price. And that "we shouldn't pick it apart." Those are his words! Why wouldn't someone who drives 2 1/2 hours one way for a vehicle that we wouldv'e had to pay $13,000 for "pick it apart?" I would never recommend going to his shop. And I will never go back. In fact he made me decide to NEVER drive a long distance again for a vehicle. I trusted his word when he said I wouldn't be disappointed. And we were VERY disappointed!! 5 hour drive for NOTHING!! Needed CV Axles replaced. Excellent customer service both over the phone and in person at the shop when I dropped my vehicle off and when I picked it up again. Service manager and mechanics were all very knowledgeable and friendly. I will certainly return here for any future work I need done on my vehicles. Thanks guys!
