I trust these guys completely. Both my sons take their cars, too. Usually a wait time to get in but worth the wait. They won't take you for a ride - they'll fix your ride right.

Very disappointed with Hilltop. I originally took my truck in to get a check engine light looked at, after inspection they concluded that I needed to replace a turbo. We scheduled an appointment for a few weeks after I got the quote (soonest they had it). When they finally started to work on the truck they called and told me that I needed to replace both the Turbos and the Manifold in my truck, I told them to go ahead and just get it fixed so I could have peace of mind my truck would be done with no issues. After Spending 5K on all the repairs once I got in my truck and started to drive, I then noticed that the check engine light was still on and called them right away to explain this. I brought the truck back and they ran a code that said I needed a new timing chain but wanted to schedule another appointment to confirm. Again a few weeks go by until they can look at my truck. They finally looked at it and confirmed it was my timing chain and quoted me another $3100 to fix it. Still cannot figure out how they missed this on the first diagnosis, again- we originally agreed that just replacing one turbo would fix the truck. To me, this just shows that they are very unthorough and lazy, and would not trust Hilltop to fix anything more than a simple break job.

They were able to get me in for repairs the same day that I called, even though I'm sure they were very busy due to the winter storm. Everyone was very friendly. Would definitely go back again!

Always the best service and people. I took my car in for an oil change and an engine light on.They were able to diagnose and fix the problem within hours the same day.You'd expect their prices to be higher but they are more reasonable than most places.I will never take a vehicle anywhere else.

Spent thousands trying to get an electrical issue fixed to no avail... Hilltop was able to locate and solve the problem days before my appointment was even scheduled. Great communication, extremely courteous and professional, and by far best mechanics (electrical) I've ever dealt with. Also, they were able to rewire everything for around 300 bucks, where the last place I took it to charged me 2 grand for fixing nothing. Hour and a half drive was beyond worth it. I used Hilltop for the first time, and I was very satisfied with the service. It was easy to generate a quote through their website for the work. The hourly labor rate seemed lower than other places I have been to in the past, and I appreciate that.Ken and the team did a great job talking me through everything that needed to be done with my brakes. They even found a bad tire rod that was causing my car to handle poorly. I went with their advice to replace it, and my car drives so much better now. My jeep was leaking engine coolant and Hilltop auto was able to do a thorough diagnosis and fix the problem. A week prior I took my jeep in to the dealership for the same thing. The dealership was less thorough and quoted me for only part of the problem. Amazingly Hilltop Auto did MORE work and the cost was still leas than the dealership.Tyler our technician, was kind and knowledgeable. He brought all of the broken parts out to show my husband and me where the failures occurred and why- I have never had someone do that before! Hilltop auto is a trustworthy business and they have gained a customer for life.

I've been to Hilltop 3 times now and have enjoyed their services every time. All the staff are friendly and explain everything easily (especially for those who are the furthest from being a car expert AKA me lol). I have a VW and they always do a great job with the oil change and just inspecting my vehicle. I even came in on a Friday afternoon with a battery issue and they were able to identify the problem and work on it quickly, despite their busy schedule. I really appreciate their dedication to their customers and I would recommend this place.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Battery, Oil change

We ve been going to Hilltop for years and have always appreciated their work. Recently, we brought our vehicle to the dealership for a recall and had them look at an oil leak while we were there and they recommended a new turbo ($2,400), so we called our trusty mechanics at Hilltop and they ve been so great working with us to determine the actual cause of the leak and to see if it s even worth fixing. So thankful for their honesty!Services: Tire rotations, Brakes, Oil change

I had a weekend trip to Grand Rapids and needed something checking 5 minutes before closing on the Saturday. Without any questions, Hilltop Auto willingly and gladly dealt with my request, staying later than their closing time to help before my trip back home. The customer service is second to none and they were honest and fair in their suggestions.Would recommend to anyone in the Grand Rapids area

Excellent customer service. Checked out a car before I bought and scheduled the needed service right away. Always helpful and informative about options and what needs to be done. Did what they said they would, when they said they would. One hiccup with supply chain, but that wasn't on them. Highest recommendation for trusted, honest mechanics.

We took our company Sprinter Van in here to get an alignment. The first thing you will notice is how clean, organized, friendly and professional they are. An unexpected issue arose with the van and Ken took care of it and was great. Everyone was very easy to work with, the service was fantastic and the pricing was right on target. They truly appreciate the importance of customer care. We will definitely be back.

Great mechanics. Professional and get stuff done . I bring all my work vehicles there and family vehicles. I always keep vehicles for at least 10 years and 300,000 miles. I'm grateful that a place like Hilltop Auto Service exists.

The dealership told us, after spending $100 of diagnostic time. That they would need an additional $300, to further diagnose a misfire in cylinder number 5. And then, told us to prepare to put a new engine in the truck. As a State Certified Technician in Auto Body in heavy Collision, I could not accept that. And when the temperature dipped down to Seven Below Zero. And my Township doesn't even allow me to change my oil in my driveway. I had no choice but to send it to someone. So I called my trusted engine builder. And asked him who he would recommend. Hilltop, was at the top of his list. These folks found, a bad spark plug. Which, is what my son was changing. When the misfire occurred. In today's Vehicles a flashing engine light with bells and whistles... Is most commonly a way for them to sell you excessive repairs. After talking to the gentleman at Hilltop. It didn't take me long to figure out that these folks still believe in diagnosing and solving problems. The first time. Rather than, just replacing parts. And keeping you coming back in the door. They got my son hooked back up, and back on the road. In a timely and affordable fashion. They have restored my faith, that there are still some good technicians in the world. And for that I thank them.

Had a bad clunk in the front suspension of my van. Brought to another mechanic and they didn't have time to look at it. They recommended Hilltop and the owner was able to get it right in even though it was Friday around 4pm. They diagnosed a loose nut on the sway bar link. He tightened it up and brought me in the work area to show me a couple other concerns. I got an estimate for the other repairs and I was happy to pay a small fee for the repair.

I went in to get an oil leak repaired. They called and told me what the problem was and I authorized the $240 repair. After picking up my car and driving home that night, it was still leaking. I called the next day and it took them 2 days to get it in just to tell me that the repair they did created a "new" leak. It was going to be another almost $100 to get that fixed. I'm very disappointed with the service I received.I was happy to get a call from Ken to talk about what my issues were. After a very constructive conversation I feel that we are both on the same page and will use his services without hesitation. I'm changing my review from 1 to 4 stars. Looking forward to doing business with you again in the future. Thanks Ken!

The folks here are as honest as the day is long. They maintain your vehicle in a proactive way without making things up to repair. The owner takes a real personal interest in getting to know his customers by name and vehicle. They're able to find tough parts even for foreign vehicles, and in my experience they have been able to diagnose issues that even the dealership couldn't figure out. So we just don't go to the dealership anymore if we can help it, we just go straight to Hilltop.

Our daughter had work done to her 2007 Sebring, the work was completed on time and exactly for what the estimate listed. Even though a couple of other things were recommended, there was no pressure to do the extra work. Ken and Michelle (Alyssa too) were great to work with. Prompt, Friendly and Reliable. A reasonable rate for quality work, less than the dealership for the exact same job....and they won't treat you like a girl in a tire store!

This was my first experience with Hilltop Auto Service and I will definitely be back! My service advisor, Joe, was very helpful and fully explained the services that were recommended and completed. My family and I have been using Ken for all of our vehicles since he was doing work out of his first shop on 100th street. Kind,caring, honest. More was wrong with my van then I thought but they never once pushed me to do anything. They let me decide. I decided to get everything taken care of. Amazing service!! I took an used car for Vehicle Inspection. I was allowed to see them inspect the car. Highly trained professionals noticed each and every minute details and told me about the vehicle history. It allowed me to make a buying decision confidently. They are fairly priced too!!

So far, so good. They are a little pricey, but you have to pay to get good Mechanics/Technicians to work on your vehicle.

You will want to use this honest hard-working professional auto mechanic shop. From owner to mechanic to receptionist you can expect high quality and courteous service, including hot coffee on the house! My family and I have used them for many years! Loaners are nice and clean too!

When I had to cancel my car appointment after my son died tragically, the owner took the time to call us personally to offer his sympathies. We had only been to Hilltop twice before. We were very touched and would highly recommend Hilltop Auto, a family-owned business that truly cares about its customers.
