I cannot praise Steve with Happy Camper enough. I was over 1,300 miles away from home on a Friday afternoon, half way through a week long trip when I realized one of my wheel bearings was going out and I did not want a wheel coming off the trailer on the highway when I had to head back home. We were only in Michigan for Saturday/Sunday and had to be back on the road 1st thing Monday morning. We called over 8 places and could not get anyone to help. Steve had plans to be out of town this weekend, but he decided to help us Saturday morning anyways. He came to the campground we were staying at, over an hour away from where his business is based. Then the parts place gave him the wrong bearings and he ended up spending his whole Saturday going back to get the right bearing and getting the job done. I have repacked/replaced bearings and done some mechanical work myself, and Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful. He did a very good job cleaning the old grease and dirt out and clean up my break drums on 2 of the wheels that had busted the seal on the back side of the bearings. He also pointed out some other issues with my trailer brakes, that will need to be fixed soon, and he assured me that they will be fine for the trip back home. I made it back home with no issues and I am very thankful for Steve taking the time to help us in our time of need.

My experience with this company has a bit of a story, so bear with me. My wife and I purchased a 1959 rv trailer from a private party in Ohio. Steve and Ryan were contracted to pick up the trailer from the seller, take it to their shop and make sure it was ready for the road, then deliver it to California, a drive of nearly 2,500 miles. Once the trailer was inspected, a few issues were discovered. The axles needed replacement, as did the wiring for the exterior trailer lights. Steve -- the person I mostly dealt with -- was great at communicating the issues he discovered, as well as sending pictures to verify what he was finding. After working with a local manufacturer and making the necessary repairs, the trailer hit the road. About an hour down the road, the driver realized there was an issue and pulled over. He found that the rubberized roof material which had been installed by a previous owner was peeling away from the underlayment. Again, excellent pictures were included. Because he was so close to home, the driver returned to Happy Campers. Upon inspection it was found that the entire roof system was installed incorrectly. Not only that, but the roof rafters and interior paneling (which, in these old trailers, provide structural support) were in really bad shape. The amount of dry rot required a complete replacement of the roof rafters, interior paneling and exterior roof material. This process took a long time -- 4+ weeks -- but Steve was communicating at every step and kept me in the loop. After long work, the trailer left again and arrived at our house just yesterday. The driver was courteous and friendly as well.Bottom line, we got ourselves into a pickle and Steve bit off more than he knew he was when he contracted with us. But he stuck with us (he easily could have brushed us off or told us he didn't want the job, which would have put us in a really tight spot) and went the extra distance to make the trailer worthy for the road and the 2,500 miles to our house. Happy Camper helped us out and did a great job.Happy Camper didn't do a complete restoration; they repaired what they needed to in order to transport per contract. We were just heading camping to Hudsonville from home and the trailer tire was smoking!! Bearings and lug nuts were all locked, burnt and all jacked up. Steve answered my call, sent his son to assess. They collaborated, Steve got our parts and they fixed us all up got us back on the road safely. Plenty of time to set up camp and watch the Michigan game!! Blessed they were so knowledgeable and helpful!

We blew out a wheel bearing near Grand Rapids on our camper on a Friday evening and needed help to get it fixed. I called Happy Camper Mobile RV Repair, and even though the owner was on vacation, he reached out to his son, Ryan, who immediately came out to help. Ryan was extremely nice, and got us the back on the road very quickly without charging an arm and a leg for his after hours services. What impressed me the most however, was the fact that Ryan reached out to me again later that evening just to make sure we made it to our destination alright. Can't say enough positive things about our experience! Responded quickly to our phone call, came to our home where the RV was parked, figured out the problem, discussed options, got part here and put on in 48 hours which was critical since we were leaving in 60 hours!!! Priced hundreds of dollars less than quoted by other RV repair providers. This is the second time we have used Happy Camper and each time same great service. Call them first!!

I had a great experience booking our appointment. The gal on the phone was very kind and informative. The day of the appointment the technician / owner did not show up on time. We attempted to call and text multiple times and after a long wait, assumed nobody was going to show. The owner eventually did reach out and said he was late on a previous job due to a tricky leak issue. No big deal, we just would have appreciated communication about it earlier. When tech showed up he was knowledgeable and kind. It did take multiple times of us reaching out to get a quote, despite him stating he would have it to us in a more timely manner. Through this process it was difficult to reach anyone via phone. He eventually did come back to do the work for us. Afterwards upon looking at our receipt, we were charged an after hours service call for the first appointment that we originally scheduled during biz hours. He was the one that was late and charged us for it. Upon reaching out to talk to him about this, the call in my opinion was handled unprofessionally at which point I got off the phone as I didn't want to argue.

Was great the first time I had him repair something. I called to schedule a repair for Thursday or Friday in July. Received a message that they had an opening on a Monday in June. I could not have it done then. I tried again a few weeks ago and was told they don't work on popups. That is a lie because he worked on it before. He must not want any work from the campground that I am in now or from anyone in the campground that I am going to own.

This father and son duo were amazing. Being broke down away from home at a rest stop with 3 children and 2 dogs on a 98 degree day was a nightmare. So thankful that they were available. This place has done work for us in the past, and did a good job at a decent price. The experience we are having with them now is probably the worst experience I've had dealing with any business in my life. After it took two months to even get them to return a call and set up a time to bring out the trailer, we finally got an appointment for late June. At that time he said they were busy but he could schedule to start the work in about three weeks. We said that would be fine and left the trailer on site in case he had any extra time to play around with it. After a month I texted to see if there was any news, he responded not yet. That's the last time he's responded to any texts, calls, or facebook messages. It has now been over 3 months and we don't even know if he's started to work on it. The lack of professionalism is staggering. I'm only leaving this review as a last resort because they actually seem to respond to negative reviews.Service: Body & Trim

Steve was worth a million dollars to us. We had an inverter problem on a Sunday night. My husband called at 11PM and Steve not only answered the phone, but walked me through to figure out the problem within 15 minutes over the phone. We offered to pay, but he declined. We had talked to three other people earlier that evening without a fix. We would recommend Steve and his services at any time!!

The tech and office staff were amazing. They went above and beyond to help us even though they were backed up past the holiday. They found a way to help without taking techs away from other jobs and got us back up and going again. The problem was a Dometic fridge not cooling on gas and they were very knowledgeable, very communicative and a joy to work with.

We are full-time RVers and needed two repairs. We were just traveling through the area for a few days and amazingly, they were able to accommodate our schedule on very short notice. They were friendly and professional and did a great job on our motorhome. The fact that they are mobile made it that much easier. Highly recommend.

I got this person's contact info. from a well known RV dealer in Grand Rapids, MI. I called and talked to him on the phone. I briefly discussed my needs to have my TV's hooked up after I have installed a new satellite receiver. He asked me to call him two days after around 9 a.m. to arrange for his visit to fix my problem. I attempted to call him numerous times on the day and time he had asked me to contact him. While he may be a capable service person, but he never attempted to call me back. Some times his voice message box is full and other times I was able to leave a message for him. VERY POOR BUSINESS PERSON! Don't waist your time with him!

Steve has been repairing our personal as well as our rental RVs for several years. We are happy to have Steve and Happy Camper on our Family Fun RV Rental team. Always there to help. It's too bad that the negative reviews posted have nothing to do with the quality of work that Steve and his crew provide. We've had nothing but 5-star service from Happy Camper and would highly recommend them!

Had them pick up a trailer for me in another state, and they got it to my quickly even with the state of emergency snow storm. Gave me an awesome price! Awesome service very very helpful :) will use them again in the future!

Just horrible. Not sure how to describe it as my experience with them was so bad.Update: to the owners response, yup I have the correct company. You have promised certain things, and have never delivered, nor do I think there is intent to deliver. If anyone chooses to business with you good luck.

Before you respond that I don't have the right 'Happy Camper" business, I assure you that I do. Company still owes my husband and I a significant refund. Been waiting since last September 2017. We were told we would receive it by the end of December 2017 ("4th quarter"). It is now March 2018. They have now blocked our texts and do not respond to voice messages. EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE...not very Christian-like.

Horrible service. Came out to fix problem, said he would come back out to finish the job and never did. Hasnt returned voicemails or emails. Just fell off of the face of the earth
