My friend and I booked this for a quick trip to go shopping for 2 days. Upon checking in, it was quick and the staff was nice. She explained the breakfast and pool hours to us. The hallways were overwhelmed with the smell of pool smell strong, even on the 3rd floor! The key readers are old and it takes a few times to swipe to get in the room. We found that the room was dirty, stains in the carpets, sheets and blankets, curtains and screens had large holes, shower curtain was torn and everything had an odor. There was so much dust in the wall air/heat unit. The pool made your eyes burn and there was a ton of scum on the bottom of the pool and hot tub had no heat. That was why we went there but we didnt stay very long. Someone on our floor had a dog that kept barking constantly, but we were told this was not a hotel that accepted pets. When I messaged down to the front desk to mention these things, i was ignored.Rooms: Small, smelly, dirty, outdatedNearby activities: the outlets, rage room and lots of food choicesWalkability: You could walk over to the outlets, and restaurantsFood & drinks: Lots of food and drink choices within reach

This place was disgusting. The pool had garbage in it and floaties everywhere. The hot tub wasn't warm and felt like lukewarm bath water. The shower curtain was cloth and had no liner to keep water out. The bathroom looked like it had black mold growing on the walls in the shower. I actually got hives from how dirty the pool and sheets were. The bed was full of crumbs and over all disgusting. Will not be returning.Nearby activities: Great boardwalk. Everything is very close by.

It's time for a refresh. The gutter damage on the outside was impossible to ignore, and a guest said the shutter banged the room window all night long. Even without this issue, the more you stay in the hotel, the more you notice the wear and tear or simply poor patch work. Something not visible is hot water issues in the shower or missing pictures on the walls with screws barely patched. Pillows need replacing. Noise echoes down the halls. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet was well attended with better than expected food. The location is good but not for the weekend surge pricing of $200 a night. Addressing these issues would take it from a 2 star review to 4 or 5 stars.

The room was only lightly cleaned. pieces of lint and debris on the floor. The door frame was broken on the inside of the room. The door also stuck badly. One of the queen beds was broken (the left bed) and shifted a lot if you sat on one side (like KACHUNK). Pillows were flat. The tub drain was flaky and discolored like it had mildew. The hotel just needs some upgrade and overall remodel. The service was great. The people I saw at the desk and breakfast were nice and helpful.

Location is great as it is right at Birch Run outlet and right by highway - that is the onlypositive. We have stayed at other Country Inn s and this does not meet the usual standards! No hot water all morning, sheets were stained, curtains had holes letting morning brightness in, pool open til midnight and you can hear noise right into room, kids running in hallways at night, shower only had cloth curtain no inside plastic curtain and even with curtain placed on inside of shower the shower head was messed up and sprayed outside of shower, bed SO uncomfortable and heard/felt every time partner rolled over, asked for extra pillows and never received.Nearby activities: Right at Birch Run Mall, across the street from Tony s and other restaurants, less than 10 min from Frankenmuth.

The outward appearance of the hotel provided optimism for a pleasant stay after visiting the local tourist attractions. However, upon arrival to our room we noticed no fire alarm, dust, and general uncleanliness. It would appear this branch neglects part of their cleaning protocol because other franchises don t have this problem. We went to discuss our experience with the front desk attendant, Nicholas, he was dismissive and lacked necessary customer service skills for the hospitality industry. After this experience, it s more evident why the parent company decided to not invest $$ into renovations or rebranding.Next time we will pay the higher rates, we wouldn t not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Choose this place because of location and price. First day everything was great except the hot tub in the pool area wasn't really hot, more like a heated pool temp. Next day we get up have breakfast wait for 10 a.m. for the pool. Kids were disappointed there was a note saying pool was closed until 1. We decided to wait go down at 1 and new sign up stating the pool was gonna be closed until 4. We go down at 4 still closed and we inquire at the desk. Oh they called maintenance, who hasn't shown up yet and then they changed the sign closed until further notice. We wasted a whole day if they would have just informed their guests. We could have gone and done something instead of waiting. No apologies, no how can we make this better just still waiting on maintenance man to show.

DIRTY.Floors filthy, doors filthy, black around the handles, blood on bed pillows, vents dirty, towels had hair on them (not ours) and ceiling, yes the ceiling had black spots, and what looked like tooth paste on it! The curtains were FILTHY, and huge tears in them. We went right down to the front desk to complain, we thought we made our concerns clear, but the next day after we got back to the room in the evening and the room was not touched, dirty towels on the floor, beds unmade, nothing done. Went down to the front desk to complain again, only to be told we have to request to have the room cleaned. I thought that is what I did the night before when I told them the room was dirty and not acceptable, and was told they would take care of it... very unhappy customers.Rooms: The rooms are dirty.

Dated, dingy, noisy. Do not stay here. The room smelled like mold & mildew. There were cobwebs and stains on the walls. My husband turned on the AC, which was filthy and emitted a smell every time it kicked on. I would have asked for another room, but before we checked in I heard the woman at the front desk tell someone that they were full how, I don t know. Our room was right across from the pool and next to the ice & vending machines. The walls are paper thin, so it sounded like the ice machine was IN the room. My guess is that the laundry was also very close by because I could hear what sounded like a dryer running for long periods of time at night. The only positive parts of this experience were that the sheets were clean and the staff was friendly. I strongly recommend NOT staying in this hotel. If you choose not to heed this advice, be assured that you will want to bring your own cleaning supplies and earplugs so you can sleep. An air purifier wouldn t hurt either. (Bring multiple filters because it s gross).

Everything in our room was badly worn. For the amount of money they charged us to stay this past weekend, it was very disappointing. The hairdryer was broke. The door frame in the bathroom was covered in rust. Our first trip here was 5 years ago and it was so nice. It s too bad this visit didn t measure up.Nearby activities: Great location to the outlet malls

A friend and I had stayed there for one night and it could not have gone worse. We get in there and our hotel room that was next to the hotels public restroom smelt very strong of pee. Once we had gotten into the room we noticed that the AC unit was completely fallen off of the wall. We went to further investigate and there was a sex toy under the unit (as attached in photos). Not only did those horrible things happen but our drains in the bathroom did not work properly and the fan in the bathroom did not work so our hotel room was extremely hot and stuffy the entire stay. I was promised a full comp of the hotel as well by upper management and I have not received this full refund and it has been about a week. I also was promised a personal phone call that Monday apologizing for our horrible situation and have not received that either.

My husband and I stayed in room 119 over the weekend. I couldn't ask for better front staff workers. However the room was extremly dirty. The exhaust fan was full of black dust along with spider webs, stains on the chair and carpet. The curtains had mold on them, the tub had something spilled down the side of it. There were a couple dead bugs on the floor near the a/c unit that was not properly encased.I pulled down the blankets and notice they were stained and not clean. I went to plug my phone in the outlet behind the night stand and it looks like its never even been cleaned back there and behind the bed. The bathroom floor was sticky. After we checked in and I saw everything I had to go to the dollar store to get cleaning supplies to make it halfway decent to shower and sleep in the room.

Overall I give Country Inn and Suites 4 stars. The employees here are wonderful and very friendly at the front desk. My first stay at this hotel. Got a great rate on the room. Stayed here 3 nights. No major problems with the room. I would have liked a clock in the room but it wasn't a major deal. The hotel is in need of some updating though. Offers a free breakfast every morning with both hot and cold selections.Nearby activities: Shopping outlets is across from the hotel. Frankenmuth is about 20 minutes awayWalkability: Easy to walk in area.Food & drinks: Various places to eat nearby the hotel.

This hotel is in dire need of renovation. Stayed one night for Deer Widows Weekend at the outlet mall. The staff was amazing, attentive to our needs and very polite. BUT the room #309 .The drapes were falling off the rods, the darkening shade was tattered and torn, the toilet seat was chipped and cracked, mildew in the shower, none of the plugs could hold our charging cords tightly, the desk felt like it would fall apart if we layed anything on it. And the bathroom door would not close. I have reported all of this on the survey I was sent. We will choose a different hotel next year for our yearly trip.

Upon check in was told carpet in the room was just cleaned and may be a little damp. The carpet did not look clean and was wet the entire stay. Room was outdated. The window shade was falling apart. There was mildew in the shower. The room had a musty smell. The scrambled eggs at breakfast tasted like powder. The hotel needs to be updated throughout. Will not stay again.

DO NOT stay here! It may look nice on the outside and be close to the Birch Run outlets, but it is not worth your headache. We booked a stay for Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. Arrived at the hotel for 3pm check in, upon checking into the room, discovered a very large stain on both the chair in the room and on the bed, bedsheets and blankets did not appear washed and sheets were inside out. There was bits of toilet paper all over the floor, wrappers, and garbage from the previous people who stayed in the room that had not been vacuumed or swept up. We booked a suite with a jacuzzi and could not even use the jacuzzi because the vent and jets would not work. The vent above the tub looked as if it had not been cleaned in ages and was covered in black dust. In addition, the jacuzzi tub was dirty and covered in soap scum that could ve been cleaned prior to our arrival. In addition to that, there was urine all over the bottom of the toilet seat that was not cleaned and a huge mold/water spot in the bathroom above the top of the shower and would leak water and drip when the people on the floor above us used their water. The air conditioner in the room would not work very well as the filters hadn t been changed in god knows how long. We booked via a third party so could not get a refund and was offered a free nights stay. Pretty disappointed since we were stuck with the room as it was Labor Day weekend and everywhere else was booked.

Hotel was dirty and in disrepair. Especially the bathrooms. The tubs had not been cleaned and had a build up of scum on them. The fan and air conditioner were broken. The room had not been vacuumed from the previous visitor and when we complained we were told that we could get a credit upon check out which they refused to give us the next day. Would never stay in one of your hotels ever again. We also refused to eat the complimentary breakfast for fear of getting sick and the pool and whirlpool were in need of cleaning and chlorinating.

Horrible chlorine smell on the first floor. Unsure if it was the pool or cleaning chemicals for the floor... Such a great environment for 35 week pregnant wife. Thanks!Clearly not just us when CHLORINE is a highlighted review keyword.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at better motels than this. It was gross if it wasn t for a wedding we would have left. The rooms were dirty and unkept. The pillow had brown stains, there was a condom wrapper under the bed, and our friend had bed bugs. Also the sprinkler head was missing and a wad of paper was stuck in it, along with multiple holes in the wall. This hotel is in need of a series overhaul and new management. Will never stay here again, I would rather sleep in a tent at a camp ground.

Staff was very friendly. We stayed here as part of a group for a family wedding. The room was very dusty and dirty. I used a Lysol wipe on the remote , door handles, phone and light switches. It was black by the time I was finished . Bathroom was awful, mold in the shower, tub was dirty , long black hair on the wall. Curtains were dirty. I had to call the front desk to have someone change my sheets they were dirty. The only thing clean was the towels. I have some respiratory issues and the room was so dirty we decided we could not sleep there a second night So I spoke to Tom at the front desk and told him we were leaving due to health issues. He would not credit the charge for the second night, but we could not stay. I preformed a text checkout which said to respond with out , that I would receive an email receipt. So far, no receipt.Rooms: Outdated and in a very rundown condition

The sheer curtains have a big rip in them. For a king sz bed you get 4 small pillows big enough for your head.Have stayed in a few of these country Inn and this is the worst.Nearby activities: Prime outlet righ across the street

The hot tub was cold and it looked like someone hawked a loogie in it, so I guess temperature doesn't matter. I didn't want to go in the hot tub anymore once I saw the massive floater in it.The pool was alright, maximum depth was 4 ft and I didn't see any loogies. Our room had a musty odor and one of the dresser drawers was full of random garbage + a plastic hanger. The mattress was a coil spring mattress and not memory foam, but very firm. My partner didn't like the mattress, but I did.Only one outlet of the several outlets in the room worked. At first we thought the lamp, coffee maker and iron were broken, but then we realized that the electrical outlets didn't work. Except for one. So I guess we were fortunate that at least one outlet worked. It could've been worse I suppose.Walkability: Outlets and various fast food restaurants are within walking distance, but some nearby roads are pretty busy.
