We were traveling Thursday the 11th of April,.We had an issue with our truck.Ian Johnson's repair was kind enough to help us out when 3 other shops in bigger Rapids would not.Johnson's repair as amazing people that are extremely professional.I highly recommend them To Do work on anybody's vehicle explanation point.

I so appreciate the friendliness and great service I receive when I take my car in. Whether for oil changes or repairs, these guys have always been consistent in their service. Being a female who knows little about cars, it's nice to have a business that I can turn to that honesty and integrity is key to their business model. They take time to explain things, and are patient when I have questions. I highly recommend them!

I am very satisfied with my recent detail job completed by Johnson's Automotive. I scheduled the appointment online. It was an easy process. The service manager confirmed my appointment (via phone) a couple days before & walked me through the package & cost. During the actual work, they called with an increase in price due to the extensive amount of work... (which I anticipated). My vehicle was outstanding. I was very impressed with the work. I scheduled for my husband's vehicle next month.

If I could give them negative starts I would! Took my car here because the headlights were malfunctioning at night. Which is very dangerous and concerning. They made me aware of $129 diagnostic fee, which I believe is fair. But then they called to ask if they could have two more hours because I have not figured out the issue and my radio was not corresponding with the system. I asked if this was going to resolve my headlight issue as well because I m not really concerned about my radio that s not why I brought it in. And they said yes, they think that this might be an overall fix so I okayed another two hours at $129 an hour. After that I had about a $400 fee, they had not figured out what was wrong with my headlights yet and asked to bring it back as they were driving it during the day and did not see the headlights acting up. I asked how I would do that as it only happens at night and they suggested to bring it back a different night so they could keep it overnight. I agreed and brought it in days later when they were available. After keeping it overnight, I received another phone call the mechanic wanted three more hours to diagnose it. They couldn t tell if it was a wire issue or a modular issue. I asked if I was understanding correctly, it was going to be near $1000 just to figure out what was wrong with my car without any repairs? They confirmed that that was a case. Needless to say I declined the three extra hours and will be picking my car up and taking it to a dealership or different shop. My mind is blown I m out at $400, without use of my car for several hours in exactly where I started. Do not take your car here.

I went to Johnson's Automotive after visiting several local garages, including a Ford dealership, because my Ford Escape was doing some really crazy, unpredictable things. I was over the moon happy with Johnson's before they even worked on my car, simply because I felt like they were taking my concerns seriously, the other garages made me feel like they were just blowing me off, like I was just a crazy old lady that was making up these stories about the weird things my car was doing.Johnson's were thorough and honest, walked me through everything they were doing. In the end, they were open and honest, they said, they didn't know if they had fixed it, but didn't seem to be any more issues with it. It has been a week now, and my car is working perfect, as it did before all the strange issues started. I am just elated to have somebody validate my concerns and address the issues. I will definitely be a returning customer for any future repairs. Thank you, Lee!

I was stranded in Big Rapids with transmission issues. I was on my way up north and had no idea as to whom I should call. I truly lucked out by choosing Johnson Automotive. They quickly diagnosed the problem and quickly and expertly repaired my car. I highly recommend this place!!

Johnson s has always done right by me. They listen when I explain the issue and make sure I know my options. All service is efficient and timely. I ll continue to make them my first choice as long as I live in Michigan.

My 2014 Equinox had the wiper motor go out. Johnson s not only fixed the problem, they were able to save the part. A new motor was $200. They fixed it for the cost of labor. Weeks later I had it happen again. Johnson s stood by their work and fixed it for free. Both times I was out in under 90 minutes. That s no guarantee. But they do take your time seriously. The staff at the counter are friendly and professional. I definitely recommend them.

We recently had an issue with a previous repair performed by Johnson s Automotive. So we came back to their shop and they determined it was something under warranty. The staff took care of the issue in an expedient and professional manner. They stand behind their work and I look forward to doing more business with them in the near future. My kids Toyota Camry needed a new starter, not only did they take it in immediately and got it fixed; they also diagnosed a few other issues that were sneaking up on her and would ve cost a lot more down the roadAnd THEN they gave my accura mdx a thorough tune up including valve adj.These guys are obviously not the ONLY great garage in town- but they ARE one of the few that will provide a loaner vehicle while yours is being serviced.They have the knowledge of a dealership; with the honesty your uncles garage; and they are priced somewhere in between

While dropping off my vehicle, the person at the front desk came across to me as rude, was difficult to work with, and the information from them was so unclear; I had to double-check the shop was capable of working on the vehicle.I was quoted a grossly inflated price. I called another shop, and the total price was about $1,000 less, with OEM parts. I would not return here.

I was a little disappointed to be charged $130 for only a diagnosis that confirmed what I knew was the problem when I dropped the car off and was requesting to have the repair done. However, in the end, I m glad it was only a diagnosis because the repair would have been another $826. I will pay about a third of that price at the shop I used to go to in Cadillac where they also don t charge for simple diagnostics.

Johnson s Automotive helped us out when we had brake issues during the middle of our trip. Quick service and great staff got us back on the road quickly! I botched my catalytic converter and O2 sensors replacement on my Subaru. So I had it towed to Johnson s Automotive on a Monday and they had the problem diagnosed and fixed by Wednesday!! Awesome job guys!!! My Subaru is running great and the price was right!!!Very happy with the service provided, would ve given them 10 stars if I could, fast and friendly service. I had my engine light come on and took my 2015 Buick Encore to Johnson's and they diagnosed problem(catalytic converter) ordered part had it done when promised and less than what the quote was-so awesome and professional. I so appreciate the work - the kindness - the car runs beautifully and I will continue to use and recommend them to anyone who needs service. I feel blessed to have them for my car when needed.

This business was prompt, friendly, thorough and easy to do business with. While my problem hasn't been completely fixed yet I am satisfied they will continue to work with me until it is. I was impressed with the amount of info they shared with me. I will continue to bring my vehicles to Johnsons Automotive for service. While this place isn't the cheapest I say you get what you pay for. I recommend this business. Five stars!Service: Auto A/C recharge

My family had been struggling with issues on our two cars for about a year and I was at my wit's end stressing about not having at least one functional car. We had only tried one other repair shop in the area and it wasn't working out so we found Johnson's and decided to give them a try. I am SO thankful that we did! From start to finish, the process was seamless.Staff was always very kind and understanding of our financial limitations, they gave me a referral for an affordable tow in the area that provided excellent customer service as well. Johnson's worked with us to make sure our vehicle was running smoothly but didn't push any repairs or services that we were not able to afford at the time. Everyone was communicative, the service was quick and best of all, unlike the other shop we had been going to, we never had to go back because things were repaired correctly the first time! It's been a few months and my car is still running great. I was very impressed with everything they did for us. We're obviously not looking forward to the next time one of our cars needs to be fixed, but when that time comes, without a doubt I am calling Johnson's!

Thorough run down of the work needed and worked preformed. Price made sense for the work needed to get done and they were able to get it done sooner than expected. I also like how they treat customers like they care and ask questions to help better understand how they can help. I enjoyed the professionalism and atmosphere of johnson's and will go back if needed and will recommend them whenever possible.Service: Auto maintenance

I've been a repeat customer for 5 years. Johnson's is very competent, accommodating, friendly and fair. With my most recent visit, I had a problem with the a/c and Greg was outstanding in communicating and explaining everything to me. I decided to choose this place because it had very good reviewing, claiming there was lower prices versus other shops and the reviews and price claims were correct. I dropped my car off to get muffler repair and figure out why it was smoking, a few hours later I got a call telling me my car was ready to be worked on and was quoted a very fair price for the parts and labor, and by the end of the day my car was done being worked on and was ready to be picked up. The mechanics here are very good at what they do and get the work finished up swiftly and correctly.Services: Exhaust, Auto exhaust system replacement

Johnson's Automotive sems to be a bit more pricey than some of our other options, but you get what you pay for. They are very thorough and get the job done right. The vacuum pump for the power brakes seized and sheared a bolt on the camshaft. It could have been bad, but they were able to extract the broken bolt and get me on the road.Services: Auto brake replacement, Oil change

My daughter and I came for vacation, on our way to the hotel her car started to over heat. These great men here at Johnson Automotive not only fixed her car so she could drive back home but they did it cost free to my daughter for the Christmas season.
