I've had my car worked on at Advanced Import Repair twice now and they have done excellent work. The pricing isn't any higher or lower than other places in the area, but they're an honest business and have great communication. The shop itself is also very clean. This coming from someone who is paranoid about dropping their car off anywhere because of damage that's been done to it in the past by mechanics. I highly suggest giving AIR a call if you're having automotive trouble. They always got me in within a couple days.

Wow! Good service, good people and good pricing! Vacationing in St. Joesph we experienced car issues. Not knowing anyone in the area, we called the closest mechanic to where our vehicle broke down. Super nervous that we as vacationers would be taken advantage of.Matt s Auto Repair didn t have an opening until after Labor Day but he was kind enough to call John, an acquaintance who owns Advanced Import Repair, in Benton Harbor. Just talking to Matt put us at ease. We felt he was an honest man and we were not wrong! Within an hour of having our car towed to Advanced Import, we were given a very reasonable quote for a new starter and they had it fixed and ready to be pick up by the end of that day!!!!! We can highly recommend this place for anyone local or vacationers who are looking for an honest mechanic and fair pricing! Staff was also extremely friendly and efficient! Can t say enough good things about the service we got! Thanks John and staff for everything!

Been going to them for the past couple of years. Each time has been fantastic. They are able to quickly diagnose your issue, quote a very reasonable repair time and cost, and execute on it quickly. Some of my repairs were complete overnight and ready for pickup the next day, and the longest only being 2 days for larger repairs.I have a 30+ year old car, and they have been able to overcome the challenge of sourcing parts nearly every time. They are upfront and honest, and if you have an issue that isn't in their scope, they are able to point you to someone how can solve it.I highly recommend this shop and don't see myself going to another in the foreseeable future.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

Recently our Honda Odyssey broke down on the way to Chicago (from Grand Rapids). We were rescued by Zielke Towing who recommended Advanced Import Repair. Our experience was nothing like you d expect from an out of town repair shop. These guys went out of their way and made sure we felt like locals, even calling us the next day to make sure we made it home safely. Jon and his team repaired our vehicle quickly and for far less than we anticipated. We highly recommend anyone living in or passing through Benton Harbor use AIR for their vehicle repairs!Service: Engine repair

The guys at Advanced Import Repair are awesome! I needed my car checked out/worked on last minute, two days after Christmas, about to drive home to FL and not dropping the car off till 1pm. They had it to me before close! The estimate was right on point and the work was done quickly. I would definitely use them again and recommend them. I highly recommend this place. I got the advice to go here from a family member after I started looking for another repair shop, and to be honest, after taking my car here, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car. I've been here twice now - once for my daughter's car and once for mine. They got me in very quickly and were very accommodating. They are very reasonably priced (they have been amazing here every time!) and extremely friendly. I have never regretted taking my car here.

Very professional and very upfront and honest with their skillset. Never tried to sell me something I didn't need, and never tried to cut corners with cheap parts. I refuse to take my car anywhere else, and if I do, only where they tell me to.

ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS! Jon and his team were the consummate professionals in helping us out of an unforeseen jam (ON THE SAME DAY!) while on our Thanksgiving Road Trip. They kept us updated and made us feel taken care of through the entire process. We were confident our vehicle was in excellent hands, and it showed. Afterward, their recommendations for sights and restaurants in the area really put the cherry on top of an excellent experience. It is truly a fair and honest shop! I've been going here for years, and they are by far the best mechanics I've come across. This is the only shop I will take my cars and truck to. I highly recommend them!

We just used Advanced Auto Imports for a wheel bearing issue. They diagnosed the problem efficiently and repaired it quickly. What really impressed me was their honesty. After repairs were made they said it took the mechanics less time than estimated and he reduced the bill accordingly. They could have easily not told me this and charged the full amount estimated, but they didn t. Their honesty and efficiency are refreshing. Very honest, informative car repair. We have taken our vehicles here for repair one import one electric car. Both times they informed us of the problem and how it happened and fixed the repair the same day.The cost was a fair market under $500 and the honesty is worth every penny. The shop is clean and they treat you with respect no matter if you are a male or a female.As a female some mechanic shops or auto places can be intimidating. I am very mechanically inclined and never once did I feel talked down or treated unfairly due to my gender at their business. They gave thorough explanations and answered any or all of my questions respectfully. Places like this are hard to come by.They have cameras outside so if you had to get your car towed or if you needed to drop it off you feel safe doing so. I had a friend of mine drop her car off to get repaired here as well and she also had excellent service from them too.The only thing I would feel could have been more informed on is where to put the keys if you were dropping off a vehicle but we figured it out and sorta thought about why they concealed it probably so people cannot try to get the keys out once they are dropped them in. It's like an exhaust hole in one of the bay doors.It was an excellent experience. Highly recommend.Cost $$$ out of $$$$$

Car broke down while out of town, as far as we knew it was the clutch. My first call I spoke to Jane, she was professional, knowledgeable and very nice. Got back to me in a timely manner with a price for a clutch, which was very reasonable. Gave me a turn around time and have helped me with every question and concern that I ve had. My only regret is that they are over 100 miles away from where we live! I typically do not write any reviews but these guys went above and beyond. I needed a heater core flush due to heat issues in my car, I called to make an appointment. The gentlemen on the phone was polite and was able to get me in the next day. Over the phone he quoted me $99 and imformed me that if the repair didn't work I would not be charged. I brought my car in, they let me know that if they flush the system it could get clogged back up. I let them flush the system which only took about 15-20 minutes. It took a little longer to pay ( I'm assuming they put me into their system) Not to mention, the guy at the front desk knocked the price down from $99 to $75. I highly reccomend these guys. Quick, Friendly, Honest, and Fairly priced. All what a mechanic shop should beService: A/C installation & repair

My car was making scary noises. I thought it would completely break down before I got it in. I was dreading the news and the price. I was treated so kindly and professionally. In my case fixed with extreme efficiency and economically. So grateful. They lived up to their excellent reputation. Totally straight forward, informed, and honest. They called me multiple times as they serviced my vehicle and not only thoroughly described the issue, but also offered options that weren't just to line their pockets. I live over 50 miles away and was in Benton Harbor seeing patients when a warning light came on my vehicle that said pull over and service immediately! I called Advanced Import Repair and they had me bring my car in immediately and were able to diagnose and repair within an hour and I did not even have to cancel my patients!! Top notch care that really helped me out in a bind! I would recommend them to anyone!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Always a pleasant, stress free even fun! experience! They are all very personable, friendly and do amazing work! The owner, Jon, is a Toyota mechanic and does many foreign cars. Their prices and work are better than anywhere else, especially the dealership! Their work is timely, more than fair and professional. They do free tire rotations, so saved me a trip to another place for that. Its never a dreaded experience to take my vehicle into them. Highly recommended!!!Service: Oil change

My wife and I recently moved to southwest Michigan from California. I had been looking for a reputable auto repair shop that was local. I tried out several and was mildly pleased. But then I developed a bad brake problem on my vehicle which I needed repaired ASAP. I had seen the very positive reviews on Advanced Import Repair and had always wanted to try out that shop. I called them with the brake issue and they had me come in right away to diagnose the problem. While there, they not only diagnosed the problem but took me into the work area to SHOW it to me. I was then given an estimate as to how much it would cost to repair the problem, which I felt was very reasonable. They had me bring it in first thing the next morning and I had my vehicle back in time for when I needed it.I need to say I really enjoyed meeting everybody at that shop. There is a friendly helpful family feeling about it which made me feel valued. They also are extremely qualified, I believe, to service just about any kind of vehicle, domestic or import, for just about anything.I think I found my reputable local auto repair shop!!! 5 stars for them!

My truck engine light came on and I took it to Advance Import & the service I received was wonderful, they worked with my warranty company for me sent in all my paperwork that the warranty company needed for me and because I had to make my son's graduation they got it repair done ahead of schedule. The service is outstanding, pricing is fair... If not cheater and the quality of work is great and I forgot to mention they did a follow up call about 2 days later. No other place is touching my truck again!

This place is awesome! I was referred here from a business around the corner. I called last week and they got me in quickly. When I called to schedule my appointment, Jane was super friendly, and was just as friendly when I walked through those doors! She greeted me with a smile and made me feel right at home (even offered me part of her lunch...I graciously declined, but thought it was the nicest gesture). Next, I met Jason. He took such good care of my car while doing a thorough check on my brakes and showing me what needed to be fixed, and went out of his way to explain the cost breakdown. He also gave me updates as he was working on it. I really appreciated this. This place is extremely fair and they really put their customers first! I am taking Grad classes right now and they let me hook into their Wi-Fi! I was able to hammer out some of my classwork while I waited for my car to be done. I also enjoyed sitting on their fancy leather couch equipped with drink holders and working headlights! Super Cool! I can't say enough about this great place! I will definitely be coming back here and also telling my family and friends about this place! Thank you everyone at Advanced Import Repair!
