We tried to rent a paddle board thru their website about 6 weeks prior to our stay. We received an email that they would get back to us, they never did. My mother called to check on availability of paddleboard, told her they would check and get back with her, they never did. I stopped by the marina upon arrival to Bear Lake to ask about renting a paddleboard, the man barely made eye contact with us and said none were available that day. We asked if there were any available any other day, again without making eye contact and while acting as if we were a giant inconvenience to his reading time he said no there are none available all week. Meanwhile there was a stack of paddleboards sitting across the room.

Took my outboard motor to them two months ago I was told by the end of the month,5 weeks later still no phone call about my outboard motor nothing about parts needed how much it'll cost,or even if it can be done or not. Yesterday I Walk in to the store, there's my outboard sitting where we dropped it off ! Today I'm going to give my claim check slip to a friend of mine and have him take it somewhere else. I've never seen a Marina that doesn't have fuel, not open on weekends, doesn't work on jobs in front of them.this guy was waxing his car when we drove in. This place is closed as far as I can tell

Bear Lake Marine is a great place to rent a water bike, get your boat top repaired or your outboard engine worked on in Northern Michigan. Our rental on Bear Lake was awesome, the boat worked perfectly and was in great shape. I'm from out of town and trying to rent a boat for our future vacation. I've tried calling multiple times during regular business hours and left messages with no return call. Also no email response. I have a family member who lives on the lake and she talked to an employee about my concerns. He said he'd call me. Nothing.

Very bad experience. I had tried for over 3 weeks to rent a boat before I came here. Still no boat but he is going to call me . I agree with others, they have no business being in business. Unbelievable. Wish I could rate this a negative number because 1 star gives them too much credit.

We totally concur with Scott Defutery's comments. This is a very small family business that has no business being in it. Short on help, lacking experience, totally tactless which made me want to walk out on him (Scott), arrogant, and does not return phone calls, then sloughs it off, like "I'm way busy". (They seemed to be working only on one specific boat the 10 days they had our boat though he made promises to get to ours in the first few days it was there). WE HAD TO DRIVE UP THERE 3 TIMES TO SEE WHERE WE STOOD...Yet the only one we ever saw working was his young son. We had a great experience with the former owner, Doug. Too bad we can't have him back ... he's happily retired. I'm happy for Doug but sad for the people who have no choice. We will NOT RETURN TO BEAR LAKE MARINA.

Needed some emergency help with my outboard motor, owner was a complete jerk, brushed me off. I would drive across state before giving this guy my business. Search around before spending your money here.
