One word describes this place "pride". They take pride in what they do, and your job will be done better than just to get you by. Trust and safe are other words I could use! They fixed a brake problem that 4 other places couldn't figure out or that were too lazy to do it right.

Oh where do I start went here to have them change the catalytic converters on my car told them they were plugged. They treated me like I was stupid ok my dad is a certified mechanic who builds mud truck motors and works on race car motors my dad said to find a muffler shop to have them do this because my dad had to fix the the trucks for the construction company my parents own the guy at the counter after I told him that my dad had hooked it up to his computer and said my converter was plugged told me that the computer doesn't throw a code for that and I needed to pay to have it diagnosed. As I continued to tell them this is what is wrong with my car they acted like I was stupid and I didn't know what I was talking about. Continued to tell me that my car had a coolant leak after my dad just did a tune up on my car he spilled fluid on it and it did not have a leak the guy looked at me and sarcastically said ok. Told me the problem was the flex pipe on the bottom of my car they charged me 250 dollars to cut this out and replace it. Told me my car ran rough and had a coolant leak. Of course it ran rough because you didn't fix what I needed to be fixed needless to say I will never go here again. I didn't appreciate the fact of just because I am a woman doesn't give them the right to treat me like I am stupid and don't know what I am talking about especially because my dad has the most top notch newest diagnostic computer for vehicles you can get right now. My dad finally got around to fixing my car for me and behold my converter was plugged just like my dad said. Guy told me I needed to go to a tune up shop to have them figure out what was wrong with it. I already knew what was wrong with it.

These Guys here are so amazing, I had my wheel bearing go in my Denali. They were the first place we went to and they were able to diagnose the issue and had our truck ready within 2 hours, I will definitely go back to them for any future repairs I will need.

I would most recommend people to this place the service is quick they do an awesome job and they work with you the best they can...Had brakes done the employees are very nice people I would most definitely give it a 100% ....

I'd give these guys more stars if I could, prices are much lower than other shops and the work is a lot better than other places I've been to. Staff is great and always helpful and fast when I need a repair.

I was very pleased with the fact that they were able to get my brakes done quickly. The work and service was superb! However, I wasn't very happy with cost so that's why I rated them 3 stars!

Honest car service that is value-driven with the quality consumers expect from their repairs. Had a great experience in December when I needed brakes replaced, and Discount undoubtedly above and beyond to complete the job swiftly. Great place. Walked in on a Saturday, told them my problem. They were able to provide options in a very timely fashion and perform the work same day. Very upfront, honest, personable, and reasonable. I wish more places were like Discount, I'll definitely be back next time I need service.

I felt like I was in good hands with Gary. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He showed me the rusted brake lines causing the problem. He had his team replace the brake lines. Very fast service. He then showed me the repair when it was completed. I am very pleased with the fast and honest service I received from Gary and his team. I will definitely be using them again and would recommend them to a friend or family member.

Gary and his mechanics are the real deal. I never worry about the service I receive here. They always go above and beyond to be sure you know what your car needs to get you back on the road. Gary's prices are also a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. I also like that their pricing is in round numbers too. Your bill will never be $275.96. It will be $275.00 or $276.00. I will continue to come here as long as I am driving.

Horrible customer service! They treated me like the typical stereotype that a woman doesn't know anything about cars. Except, I grew up in a car garage because my dad is a mechanic and I now also have a father-in-law who is a mechanic. I know if my car makes a noise or sound that it shouldn't. I may not know everything about cars, but I am not ignorant about them. And that is how I was treated. My husband had to be on the phone for them to listen to what services I wanted! A couple of weeks ago I had them put some new brake lines on my old Ford Tempo. They did a good job at an average price. But as a result of some miscommunication by them, or misunderstanding by me, there was a bit of damage done to one of my tires. After talking with them about it, they took full responsibility and reimbursed me fully for the tire. I was actually only looking for half of it, as I believe I didn't follow through with as many questions as I should have. I'll give half the money back. My point was to just let them know there was an issue, and I believe there could have been better communication. They did beyond what I was looking for, and I am impressed with customer satisfaction they wanted to maintain. Of the maybe ten jobs I've had them do, this was the first time I ever had an issue with their work. I am impressed with how they wanted to make it right. I will continue to have them work on my vehicles. I know some people have posted how D.M. & B. can seem a bit brash or lecturing, but I know they care about doing a good job, and aren't afraid to admit that they aren't perfect. Thanks for caring guys, I mean that.

Wonderful group of guys. Being a woman that knows some about cars I know some places will try and take me for a fool... NOT these guys. Quick shout out to Mechanic Dennis, he is an absolute Gem! Not only a gentleman but he knew that I wanted to be shown and educated on exactly what was going on with my car. He offered to bring me back and gave his honest opinion. I can honestly say I have no worries about handing them my keys. Much appreciated guys, I WILL be back!

Thank you Gary and Discount Muffler & Brakes for the great job with replacing the rear shocks on our 2004 Honda Pilot in a very timely manner. My son needed to return to school at Michigan Tech and getting this completed before he left was very important to us and his safety.. You guy's are always very professional and do great quality work at a very honest price. These guys were so great. It was my first time needing work done on my van since moving to Bay City, MI. I thought it was my muffler that went bad but it was something that cost more than expected to repair. They showed me what the problem was and had me up and running in no time flat. The cost isn't something that they had any control over and it is old van so I wasn't in anyway upset. I wanted it done right and it was. They know what they are doing and made me feel so welcomed as a new man in town. I will be going back to them whenever something comes up and their services are needed again.Service: Exhaust

This is my favorite mechanic, I've been going to Gary for every clunk, rattle and squeak for 15yrs (I go through a lot of cars) only place in town I've never had a complaint about. These guys double or triple check torque on every bolt they put back on...as someone who drives 80k miles per year, this is the difference between being stranded on the side of road and making it home with no issues. I've had more brake calipers then I can count come loose on the freeway and discount fixes the competitions mistakes. Grumpy Gary isn't for everyone, but anyone who values safety will appreciate him

Honest service. I don't go anywhere else. Sometimes some people aren't having a good day and write a bad review, I have been coming to this business for about 15 years and never once had been treated unkindly. Both of my daughters bring their cars here and were always treated only with respect. I whole heartedly trust Gary and his business.

I am a first timer at Discount Mufflers & Brakes. I was a walk in customer needing an oil change, new brake pads and rotors. My car was looked at promptly. I was given an honest assessment and estimate. Not only did they repair/replace what I needed -they also brought to my attention items that were ready to be replaced (new tires and air filter) I walked out a happy customer. Got new brakes and a oil change for a more than fair price. I would highly recommend their service. I will be a repeat customer in the future...

Great place for repairs on a muffler system. My daughter's car broke an exhaust pipe and got very loud. We took it in and Discount Muffler called within 4 hours with options for repair. They were honest enough to suggest the exhaust system pipes looked newer so they could repair or replace. We chose to repair since it was less than half of a replacement. Options are always nice for older vehicles. Highly recommended.Service: Exhaust

I needed a muffler real bad on Friday after calling several places that were referred to me, no one had what I needed until someone that I called , said have you tried Discount Muffler and Brakes? I said no and asked if he had the number. I called and told the young man what I needed and he said, yeah and I can even do it right now. It was 4::05 and they closed at 5. I said I can be there in about 5 minutes. He told me what I needed and at 5:00 he was done. When I drove away my car was so quiet, I couldn't hear it running. What a great place! I would recommend Discount Mufflers and Brakes to anyone. Before leaving I grabbed their card.

got me in fast, up on the hoist and we settled on a fair cost to do the work I requested. Mechanic was friendly and quick with quality work that he let me inspect while it was still in the air. Great job guys!

I called the owner about making a custom piece for a exhaust pipe. He was the only person who would do it. He cut, flared, exspanded, cleaned it up and welded the part for me and hardly charged me anything ! Great guy, great place. Very friendly...I would recommend Discount to anyone.
