I brought my VW Tiguan here anytime it had anything major that needed fixing. They are honest and always double check for themselves that the dealers diagnoses is correct. They always come in cheaper than the dealer. Also they always estimate the time needed for the repair correctly. Love Select Auto!

Recommend this place. Subaru dealership in Ann Arbor wanted to charge $6300 for a problem with air conditioner and I got it fixed here for under $200. (The dealership did not diagnose the problem correctly in spite of charging over $300 to perform the diagnostic).Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

Always easy to communicate with, prices are great, Joe answers all my ridiculous questions without making me feel foolish, and I feel like my car is in good, honest hands.

Long story short, I purchased a used 2017 Lexus RX350. Had it inspected by Lexus dealership before purchasing and they told me it needed rear shocks and a timing cover reseal. so I called shopping around for quotes and between the four different mechanics that I called all rated 4+ in the ann arbor area, this was the only shop that took 10 minutes explaining the timing cover reseal problem and kindly told me he didn t have enough staff to perform that kind of work. As for the rear shocks some gave me quotes more than what the dealers prices were and other slightly below. This shop quote was the most fair, affordable and cheapest amongst the bunch. BTW non of the other shops agreed to take on the timing reseal job for whatever reason. To top it off this was the only shop that gave me a call back with a quote within an hour. I had to call the other shops again next day to get my quote. To the person I spoke to (believe it was Joe) thank you!

They are fair, qualified, serviceable and worry free. You can not go wrong.We have been using them for over 8 years now stared in the fall of 2014. Our car suddenly could not start - several garage I called started to bring us astronomical cost to tow the car and change many pieces. Our interaction with them made a lasting impact on me:Joe asked me over the phone "hey did you try the spare key? If this work - it is just the battery in the key! This will just cost you a few bucks to buy one at the grocery store".He was right. I called back and said I wanted to pay and he told me "are you kidding? I am just glad we could help you".Are they inexpensive? Or expensive? When I talk with friend everybody agree that they are fair priced mechanics for the Ann Arbor area. They are extremely serviceable and honest and helpful.Once we dropped the car while we were overseas for vaccay - Joe texted me all the informations and cost. We discussed by text message. He had to adapt to me and so he did. We came back to a perfectly running car.Outside of many repairs, on two different cars and many from our friends and family... A repair failed a few months later (a year to be fair) - they abide in their warranted work without a question or any problem. This happens, this is part of the game - glad I could count on them.

I ve been going here for about 10 years. I love this repair shop. They are not the cheapest around but they never pressure me into fixing anything that doesn t need fixing. In fact sometimes they try to talk me out of repairs I think I might need. You don t need that right now, maybe in a year but now right now they are always good about calling back when they say they are. I trust them to do whatever repairs are needed.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair

I learned about Select Auto on Platt by looking on UM Parents FB page. They were highly recommended as being trustworthy & good at what they do. Owner Joe did not disappoint. He was immediately professional, listened to our story and was so accommodating about working with me from 250 miles away & my daughter locally. I felt very confident he was not going to take advantage of our situation or over diagnose my 2005 Mountaineer s safety issues. He was conscientious about squeezing us in, turning the car around quickly knowledgeable, and test drove it to make sure all noises were gone before returning it. And most importantly, he was thoughtful & treated my daughter w/ respect I am grateful to have found a reliable honest mechanic in A2.Services: Brakes, Brake service & repair

Started going there in 1994 and while I may not have been thrilled to pay for some major car repairs, the bill was always fair. They always fixed it right the first time and gave me rides home and back while my car was in the shop. Paul is is skilled mechanic and an honest businessman. Joe has friendly front desk communication and efficient customer service. Dennis, the driver, is an interesting conversationalist. I got a next day appointment on my most recent visit. I don t feel ripped off by them, and trust the quality of their work. Select Auto is the most ethical car repair shop I have ever used.

I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. Joe is as straight a shooter as they come. My final bill has been lower than the initial estimate more than once and the employees here have actually referred me out to other service providers that would be cheaper for me, even though they could have done the service at a higher price without me knowing. Select is my first go to whenever an issue crops up with my vehicles because I trust I'll get an honest assessment.

Took my Fusion in for brake job.Thinking I needed all four wheels done.Paul tells me I only need two wheels done because I had 50% left on two of my wheels. Cleaned up my front rotors. Car stops great no more chatter. Also said I should get new tires before winter. Got the job done quickly. Very friendly shop. Oh cost Very reasonable worth the 50 min drive.

Honest, fair priced and timely service. Highly recommend to anyone. I was told I needed two bushings to the tune of almost $1,000. Took it to select; they told me it was a money grabbing technique and I didn t need them replaced. They adjusted one small thing. $100 later I saved $900 and the car runs great.

I was told by Firestone that my radiator had a leak after paying $70 for an inspection. Then after seeking a second opinion, I got referred by Japanese Auto to Select Auto Service. Select Auto employees were friendly, very honest, and upfront with what needed to be done to my van. They found that my radiator didn't have a leak and that instead I needed my water cooler needed to be replaced and my radiator fan relay needed to be replaced. Not only did they properly diagnose the problem, but they quoted me $675 instead of the $1000 Firestone would've charged be to fix a wrongly diagnosed issue! My van is now working great and it's all thanks to the great people at Select Auto Service!

I had my nissan worked in and he told me it's cost over $3000. Timing belt. He said it was better to get rid of it. At least he was honest. I end up trading that in for a down payment for my new cat. I would recommend.

By far, the best shop in town! Fair prices, professional work and easy to deal with. I've had multiple jobs done here from minor fixes to an engine replacement and was very satisfied with all aspects of their service. Highly recommended.

They do a great job on our older mint conditioned Audis. Most other places around town have made up bogus claims of needed repair. We can and do prefer to work on our cars ourselves, but go to select auto when we don't want the hassle. So far the only place in town that does a great job without the need to fabricate spurious repair needs is Select Auto.

This is by far the best repair shop that I have ever been to! and that is saying a lot since I live and work in different states and drive a lot. Select Auto makes me feel safe and has repeatedly re-fixed problems caused by other car repair shops. I would not take my car to any place else. The staff and mechanics spend a lot of time finding out what exactly is wrong with your car. They are by far the best. Thank you so much!

Legal robbers !!Going through the reviews here, I decided to try them out for a ""check engine"" warning. I have an OBD II scanner so I knew what exactly was the problem. All I wanted to check was the cost of replacing the part. They asked me to leave the car since they were busy. Later in the evening they called me and gave an estimate to replace the part which was almost twice the dealer's estimate. So I decided to get it done with the dealer but these people charged me 50 bucks as inspection fee. I myself had told them what the problem was yet they charged me to repeat the same thing. I paid $50 and said good bye.

In bed with a shady dealer. Cromax auto. Here is my review for them.VERY angry and disappointed. Despite taking the 2008 Ford f150 to my mechanic at the time, "Select Auto" who I now understand has a working relationship with this place, recommended we take out a $10k loan for this truck. Following the reccomrecommen, I did. My son has been driving this deathtrap for almost a year and we have sunk another $6-7k in this dangerous vehicle. Dare I say, the title has been altered and this vehicle was a salvalge. I will never ever trust this place, or others like it again!

Taken several work vehicles there over the years (they're the only place we go to), and just took in my personal car as well (with a turnaround much quicker than I expected!). Always really prompt, straightforward, and great to work with.

Paul and his staff are awesome I recommend Select to everyone. I have taken a couple of vehicles in that I am sure somewhere else would have taken advantage and charged for an attempted repair but Paul was honest and told me no repair was necessary. I recommend

We needed to find a place to put a new engine in our Subaru. We were refereed to this place by another shop that did not handle major repairs. They not only did a top notch job at a fair price it was done in a very short time. Thank you Select Auto!!!

These guys are honest and always explain what the problem is and what they're going to do to fix it. Prices seem pretty reasonable and they're willing to tell you if something can wait or if it really needs to be fixed right away.
