Excellent, honest, affordable service. I recently brought my 14-year-old Ford here for what I feared might be an expensive engine repair. Larry and crew did a thorough assessment, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the car running smoothly again the same morning I brought it in, at a very reasonable cost. Thanks for helping to keep my old car safely on the road!

I've been going to Illi's for a few years and I'm always happy with their work. I've never had to call for an update because they always reach out first. I feel confident that they are taking great care of my car and giving me honest and clear advice. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else.

Excellent service. Affordable, fast, and friendly. I appreciate how patiently and thoroughly the problem was explained to me too, since I know very little about cars. Even though my car broke down this week, I feel like finding Larry and his team has been a blessing. I will definitely continue to take my car here in the future. Highly recommend!!Service: Battery

Couldn't be happier with the suspension and transmission work that Larry & his crew just finished on my 1978 Mini. They were thorough in researching what was needed and in explaining the work they performed. The price was reasonable and the work was completed faster than I expected. Knowledgeable, friendly staff that provides outstanding service. Kudos to the owner Larry who always provides very thorough explanations on what is ailing your vehicle in an understandable way. Trustworthy outfit who I have full confidence in to make the necessary repairs and not try to sell me something I don't need.

We were a first time customer, limped in with a broken spring shackle on our work truck. They got us in right away, the estimate was accurate, our Van was done on time. We were back in business!!! Looks like we have a new mechanic! We will be back, but not too often I hope! :) By the way, EVERYONE there treated us so nicely! I felt very comfortable, we were even given a ride home! Didn't see that coming!

Truthful, honest folks here.You really do get what you pay for and I will never go elsewhere for detailed auto engine work.Customer for life now!And two years later in August 2018 I can still say the same thing. Detailed, respectful, a truly knowledgeable mechanic, Larry is the real deal. Work done right the first time.

Took my 85 Chevy truck in for work on the brake lights. They sorted through some shoddy wiring from the previous owner, called to give me an in depth run-down on what they'd found, and had everything back up and working within a couple of days. Great shop.

Took my vintage 'vette in for front suspension bushing work. Illi's had done excellent work for me from way back when the original owner was still alive, and who took it upon himself, aside from the specific service to be done, to somehow touchup/repaint the engine block GM blue and freshen it up (he had an older Ford T-bird that he took pride in)...a nice, surprising gesture that I hadn't asked for, nor did he charge for. Years later (around 2012), when the suspension work was performed, I also supplied eight new spark plugs to be swapped out @ $10.00 each (charged $80.00). Drove the vehicle for the rest of the season. The next spring I crawled under the car to inspect a leaking power steering hose, only to discover that the spark plugs that I supplied, and paid to have changed, evidently had not been changed after all...the existing spark plugs had blue paint overspray on the ceramic portion, plus they reflected a bit of rust that I wouldn't expect in less than a year's time. Because of the lapse in time between the bushing service (not cheap, but they did the service properly), winter storage, and my discovery of the old spark plugs still in place, I did not call Illi's to express my dissatisfaction. Still, every time I crawl under this vehicle to perform an oil change or lube and see those paint over-sprayed plugs, it burns me. They don't have many miles on them anyway, but I did supply and pay for something that I didn't receive. My suspicions that this vehicle did not have the fresh spark plugs installed has since been confirmed by another auto shop that primarily services Corvettes, and that shop will be finally changing those plugs for me. It's a shame that I'm paying for it twice.Unfortunately, Illi's Auto Service is no longer a consideration for me.

Had brake problems and am from out of town. The professionals at Illis handled the problem straight away and were professional. I would recommend them to anyone in and out of Ann Arbor. Very Happy Customer
