Very thorough. Well trained mechanics. Professional and knowledgeable. I've never had them fix something only to find out they mixed the real problem, which has been an issue for me with other shops. Even better, they're not as expensive as the dealerships. I recommend them.

Convenience Auto SAVED MY CAR. The dealership told us we needed a new head gasket for my 2005 Toyota Corolla. Cost? Almost $4,000. We were not going to pay that for an 18-year-old car so we immediately began car shopping. Still, something nagged at me. The dealership had seemed sketchy and my experience thus far hadn t been the best. Was it worth getting a second quote?I decided to give it a try. I found Convenience Auto and read their great reviews. I called them to ask for a quote on a new head gasket. Surprisingly, they told me that often the dealer misdiagnoses the oil leak and they d rather take a look first. They did look, TWICE, and confirmed that is was not the head gasket that was leaking oil, but a different part that the dealership had repaired months earlier! If I hadn't call them, our car would be gone!Throughout the process Justin and Garrett were outstanding. Answering my thousand questions patiently, shuttling me back and forth from home while they repaired the car, and generally being amazing! Everything they did was to steer us towards less expensive options that were better for the car and better for us.This is customer service at its finest and the car has run great ever since. If I had followed the dealership, our car would probably be gone forever but instead, we re driving it every day and loving not having a monthly auto loan. Thank you guys! I have been coming to Convenience Auto consistently for at least 9 years for all my maintenance needs. Quality work, dedicated staff, personal service, and repairs with a value laden price are reasons I continue to return. Unnecessary repairs are never an issue. Convenience Auto on Jewett Ave.. is the first call I make for all my car needs.

We have an older car that needed someone that could diagnose an engine problem we were experiencing. We had heard about Convenience Auto from friends and decided to give them a try. We was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and organized the shop looked and that they figured out our problem at a reasonable price. We highly recommend this place.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Wasn t able to fix my old 2001 Mercedes window (because of a number of other issues) but they were super great at communicating and didn t charge me. I would come back for sure.

The crew at Convenience Auto saved the day for me. My husband was laid up with shoulder surgery and the engine light came on. They were able to diagnose the problem, fix it and get the car back to me quickly. I so appreciate their honesty, work ethic and compassion to help me out during this stressful time.

Place is usually preoccupied so don't expect a speedy service. There was a week of work before they look at my car. For me, this wasn't an issue but could be for someone with a tight schedule. They maintain several means of contact so there's no issue getting a hold of anyone for anything you need.They diagnosed and performed the work, even held the vehicle for me so I could get a proper window to pick up my car. My only gripe is the cost of the work and I'm not even showing how much they would've charged for brakes and rotors.Most often, inspections are included with services performed when all repairs are made on a vehicle. That has been my experience in the past but the inspection charges here were not waved which elevated the final cost.Great people and great service but if you can get it done for cheaper, I advise you take that route with your vehicle.

Had my car towed here in the middle of the night after it broke down while driving. They charged me $80+ just to tell me nothing and handed me a card for a scrapyard. I asked if they looked at the timing belt as I suggested - as it was just replaced - and they said no. Took me 5 minutes to see that the timing belt was broken. Fixed the car myself and didn't scrap it. Waste of time and money here.edit: they did not diagnose a broken timing belt. I asked them, and they said they did not look. The below response is a lie. These guys are so thorough. I've been getting my car fixed there for a year and a half or so, and they've always given a detailed inspection report, and help me decide what's important. I got a pre purchase inspection, and they were able to steer me clear of what otherwise looked to be a fine car, but really had some serious issues.They're often scheduled out several days, but it is worth the wait, every time.Thorough, honest, friendly. Would recommend their services to anyone (and I do)

This place was recommended by a friend, and I had been going there for oil changes since I moved to Ann Arbor. This time I needed a little more with a Check Engine light on my 14-year old car. They quickly diagnosed the problem, called to give me a quote for the fix, and promptly repaired the car. It now runs perfectly. They also did a full inspection and noticed a few regular maintenance items that needed to be done, and performed the ones I requested on the phone. I'm glad my car is now both safer and more reliable. Very professional and a joy to work with. Strongly recommend.

I was lucky enough to find Convenience Auto when I was searching for a local mechanic for some quality car repair work to be done on a family vehicle primarily used by my twin teenage boys. The quote for the work was very reasonable and the repairs were done in a very timely manner. I was very pleased with the service I received from start to finish and I feel that the service manager, Justin and the mechanic, Mark will provide great support for all of their work if needed. I will highly recommend them to my family and friends.

I have been having issues with a continuous flat tire on my car for months now. I had been getting it repaired at another business, and decided to switch to Convenience Auto Service after not having the issue repaired appropriately. Convenience Auto Service (and Justin specifically) was very helpful, professional, and transparent about the issues I was having with my car. They showed me exactly what was wrong, allowed me to take pictures, and explained everything they were doing (I have very little baseline knowledge of cars). The service was incredibly fast too. I would definitely recommend this company for auto repairs and will be returning with any other issues I have.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

Excellent customer service and honest mechanics. My prius was facing problems and I was told elsewhere that I needed to completely replace the battery. However, Convenience Auto gave me an honest diagnosis for my vehicle, provided shuttles to and from their office, and topped it off with some friendly conversation. The overall process was great and they really allow you to trust in their expertise. Will be returning to them for all my needs.

I am very happy to comment on the service I received at Convenience Auto Service. Justin and Mike were very helpful with their quick turn around time of assessment of my car repairs, projected cost, and approximent time I would have my car completed. I am very happy with my experience here and my car repairs. Justin kept me updated and was very communicative. My need for my car to be returned to me as soon as possible was not only heard but honored. I totally recommend this auto repair service.

This was by far the best car repair experience that I've had! I have been here twice and both times, all of the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, helpful, quick, and knowledgeable about my car. The prices are very reasonable. They were kind enough to fix my tail light right before they were about to close up shop and with no appointment. I would definitely go back again!

I have used this shop as my primary mechanic for over 20 years. When Convenience took over from P.A.T. a few years back I was concerned the level of service would not match my past experience. Instead I find the same excellent service with the addition of a great website where I can make appointments and communicate via email if needed.Recently I had an appointment for replacing tires on my vehicle and checking a warning light. Unfortunately two days before my appointment my car died due to a bad alternator. I had my car towed (after hours) to Convenience the day before my scheduled appointment, thinking it would just wait until my scheduled time.Instead they got me immediately, diagnosed and repaired my problem (as well as some other minor fixes) and took care of my tire replacement. Without an appointment I was back up and on the road in less than 24 hours from having my car towed to their shop.An awesome experience. Highly recommended.

I have been taking our Forester to Convenience Auto South ever since the factory warranty on the vehicle ran out. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and treat customers with courtesy. The pricing is fair and the estimates are upfront and honest. I am glad a friend recommended them to me.

Absolutely fantastic! My truck was dead and was towed in to try to figure out what the problem was since I wasn't able to jump it at home. The battery was fully dead. I took my car in for service and repair - there was a clicking noise when I turned the steering wheel. After inspecting the car, Mike informed me that the front struts needed to be replaced and this would cost me approx $1800. I agreed to the repair and in passing mentioned to him that i thought a similar repair was gone at their shop a 2-3 years ago. A few hours later he called me back to inform me that he had looked up the old repair records and indeed the struts had been replaced 3-years ago. He said that he was not sure why the struts failed so quickly (Michigan roads notwithstanding!) and that he would replace the struts at no cost. I have been going to this shop for the past 15 years or so, and my latest experience only reaffirmed my impression that these folks are professional, honest, and reliable.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The staff at Convenience Auto are always courteous and friendly. When my car is in for service they keep me updated throughout the day if anything changes from the plan that was discussed. There s never a surprise with the bill when picking the car up and I ve NEVER had to take the car back after a repair because it wasn t done correctly or completely. It s great to have an auto shop you can trust with your car.

Highly recommend this shop, especially if you are new to the area as I was and looking for a mechanic you can trust. I feel like this is the only place you should take your vehicle if you live in the Ann Arbor area, especially if you have a Subaru. I have routinely had great experiences at the Liberty St. location. We take our 2009 Prius in about once a year for maintenance. I took it to the Jewett shop for a checkup + 12v battery replacement.We got a quote for just that within a couple hours via email & phone. I responded with something along the lines of "We are going on a few road trips soon and want to make sure the car is ready, we trust your recommendations on anything else that needs to be done." I expected them to come back with something, I was telling them to take our money (I would not feel comfortable doing this at any other shop).Surprisingly they said no, the car is in great shape and there's no reason at this time to spend more money on anything. Awesome people who had a perfect opportunity to take advantage of us and didn't, very much appreciated.

I've been looking for a used car and needed someone to do a prepurchase inspection. Even though I didn't end up buying the cars, these guys really saved me a headache when it came to pricing for the used cars. Not only was the cost of the inspection reasonable, they are friendly and stand up guys. I highly recommend them, and will definitely used them again for my auto needs!
