I have been using Arbor Motion for all my Volvo service for well over 25 years (back when they were just Swedish Engineering). I've always found them supremely capable, honest and customer focused. You may be able to find an independent mechanic that can do it a little cheaper but you will never find anyone better.

In the waiting room currently and am already writing this review. Customer service top tier and their prices beat everyone around when it comes to my Mercedes servicing. Definitely can see why this is the highest rated auto place in the area. 11/10 service and will definitely be a repeat customer.

They replaced the timing belt on my 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0. Made an appointment, received a written estimate, and used their after hours drop box, Work was performed as promised, completed on time and within estimate. The payment process was quick and easy. Very satisfied. Highly recommended.

They were extremely helpful and kind. They also offer a shuttle to help if you live nearby which is extremely helpful. I struggled to diagnose and repair a frustrating issue that bothered me for months and they really went much further than they ever had to in order to get me on the road again.I would recommend them to anyone who struggles to find a reliable mechanic for German cars.

Just had some routine maintenance on my Mini Cooper at ArborMotion, and I m so pleased with the service I ve gotten. The staff were very friendly, informative, and professional - plus I got a free car wash! It s nice to have a dependable & trustworthy garage where I can get my car serviced.

2006 Pilot towed to ArborMotion with a no start condition. Tech determined the battery was bad. Installed a new battery and charged $487 for the repair. Battery cost was approximately $142. So to diagnose, remove and replace a battery was approximately $345. That is so excessive I feel I have to write a poor review. I called and talked to the manager and he confirmed the billing and would not budge on the charges.They have high ratings which is why I chose them in the first place. In looking up the amount of labor to replace a battery, the web varies from 15-60 minutes. This was a battery under the hood with nothing in the way to remove.I do want to clarify, this is about the labor time charged. In their response to this review they stated "the car would not start even with a jump start". So obviously, at a bare minimum, the vehicle needed a battery. Once the new battery was in place it is a very quick check to verify the charging system is working and another to verify there is no battery draw when the vehicle is off. Easy checks with a simple volt meter.Though the receipt does not clarify the number of hours spent there are two sections. First the "diagnoses" which was $156.00. Then the actual battery change, system checks, etc. another $156.00. So I assume this is their standard hourly rate.My complaint is that it does not take (2) hours to do this work on this particular vehicle.I also want to clarify, the vehicle has been running and starting fine so there is no issue with the quality of their work just the excessive amount of labor charged.***Edited for actual costs from the receipt and to clarify the reason for the poor review.Also noted - the labor rate of $156.00 is not a crazy number. Dealerships are now commonly charging $200+/hour. Independent shops anywhere from $100-200.

As a repeat customer, I am very pleased with my recent experience with ArborMotion's service on my Audi. All the people involved are pleasant professionals, and the shuttle service and complimentary car wash are appreciated extras.

Arbor Motion has serviced my Honda for years. They are always thorough and their schedule is timely. I also am grateful for their shuttle service when I needed it. My car has never had major issues and I am thankful they do good work to keep me on the road safely. EDIT:2 hours after I posted this review, the owner of ArborMotion called me. He was very apologetic about the experience I had, and was determined to make things right.He acknowledged that they had issues earlier this year. Then outlined the steps they were taking to correct them, and to make sure that no one had the same experience at his establishment.I was absolutely blown away by how humble, understanding, and attentive he was to the situation, even knowing it likely wasn't going to bring me back as a customer.This is a level customer service that is absolutely unheard-of in today's world.Would I go back tomorrow, maybe not... But they're not completely off the list anymore.Sebastian, you are a true diamond of a business owner.You have earned my respect.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I took my Audi A5 to ArborMotion to have a few repairs made early in May, 2023.One of those repairs was the rear-defroster. I took it, they did some troubleshooting, and decided it was a relay. I was told the relay was replaced. However, the next time I need the defroster... it did not work. I took in for an issue with the AC, and told them told them that the defroster wasn't working still. Came and picked it up. Told it was all set.. next time I go to use it. Still doesn't work. Take it in again, we're almost in July now... and get told. "The weather is too warm now. We can't diagnose the rear defroster."This is not to mention that I had the car in 3 times before they could figure out an AC issue, and 4 times so they could adjust the position of the Shift pattern, which I had to draw the tech a picture of the H-pattern and where it was sticking before they could fix it.Maybe the BMW and Posrche Techs are awesome. But I'll never take my Audi there again.Went to Stadium Auto Service last week, the Audi tech was able to quickly diagnose the issue, found a ground loop filter that was bad, and was able to order the part to fix it in an hour.More than 2 months and multiple visits without a solution....Or an hour and done....Let's just say... I know where I'm taking my car from now on.

I highly recommend Arbor Motion. Chuck and one of the mechanics went above and beyond to repair a digital gauge in my car. They hadn't done anything like that before so they looked up Youtube videos to see how it was done. It was a mattter of re-soldering tiny wires attached to the back of the gauge. If I had gone to the dealership they would have replaced the whole gauge and charged me hundreds of dollars more then Arbor Motion did. I'll definitely keep coming back to Arbor Motion.Service: Auto maintenance

If you need the best work done with the best parts, this is the place to go. I had to have all my brakes done and it took a few hours longer due to their practice of getting the best parts for my Miata. They checked to see what were the best reviewed brake parts and ensured that what they installed would last longer than the regular aftermarket parts. Good Job Arbor Motion!Service: Brakes

The bottom line is that I take my car to ArborMotion because I trust them. They are straightforward and reliable. Also, the last time I was in for an oil change they let me take a loaner car(!) how s that for customer service?

Wonderful (and fun) people! At no point did I ever feel talked down to and they give you the feeling of being part of their family . I have zero worries or concerns when my car is in the care of the folks at ArborMotion!

Long time customer from way back in the Swedish Automotive days. They've been propping up my '02 XC70 for a while now, and have every confidence they will continue to do so. Candid, honest, no up-sell, no hassle folks. I've never had a bad experience with them, and have only been 100% appreciative of the work they do. The. Best.

Certainly beats a dealership! They have good staff that really do their best to give you accurate time estimates and don t overpromise. They also tell you what work might be needed upfront with the price before they start working on it. Much appreciated!

I have been taking our cars to ArborMotion for years and have had a good experience every time. Recently took my wife's car there because of a loud clunking in the front end. I was impressed with how much effort they put in to locating the problem. Many shops would just have suggested replacing everything. Instead, they replaced one axle, which clearly was bad, and then located the noise coming from a lower control arm. Their work is always high quality and customer service is excellent.

Brought my car in because it wouldn't start. Mentioned that the battery may be dead due to trying to start the car, but when I charged the battery it would crank but not start the car. Person I spoke to said no problem just bring it in and we'll have a technician look at it to see why it won't start.After dropping off the car, I get a quote a day later for about $600. $376 was to replace my battery because it was dead. $77 to test if my alternator was working. $154 to do a code scan/overall health scan. These charges were on top of the original $154 to look at the car.I called them and asked if they learned anything as to why the car isn't starting (the reason I brought it in for). They said the next steps were to approve everything they invoiced me for so they can look into it. They said I brought it in and the battery was dead, so there was nothing they could do for why it wasn't starting (I guess they can't charge a battery like I did?). I repeated what I originally said when I called and argued for awhile why they never looked into the car not starting. Eventually he understood and apologized saying the technician "got ahead of himself". We agreed I could put in my own new battery over the weekend (it was on warranty) and they would look into the no-start problem fresh on Monday.I installed the battery and on Monday they called again to explain all the charges for looking into why the car won't start. I asked what about everything that was discussed Friday and he said he would look at his notes to remind himself what happened and call me back. I never received a call back.The next day I got a call and they AGAIN tried to get me to approve all of the work/charges without ever looking into why the car won't start or explaining what happened to what was discussed. I was very confused because he said he would call me back the day before with an explanation. Eventually talked to a manager who told me to get the car towed to a different mechanic.Amazingly, that manager called me back a couple hours later saying he "read through what happened and now understands" and also apologized to me. However, no remedy was ever offered and I still had to tow my car to a new shop.Overall a massive waste of 3 days for a simple no-start test. Left with nothing learned about the car and still had to get it checked out at a different shop. Brought my car here because of the other positive reviews but I received nothing but complications and very confusing customer service.

Some quarter century ago we arrived in Ann Arbor with a Volvo and met a mechanic who drove the same model. When I asked him where he took his car for more complex jobs, he replied "Swedish Engineering" (now ArborMotion--this was back when Chuck, if he were there, would have been a middle schooler doing an internship). Anyway, many Volvos and Toyotas later, we still go to State Circle for skilled repairs, straight talk, and experienced staff. Though we've seen ownership changes, quality has never faltered. To be clear, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Oh, and there's still Chuck!

The team at Arbor Motion are awesome! I had my Volvo C 30 towed in for a mechanical repair. They kept me up to date throughout the entire process. They did what they stated they would do in a timely fashion and the repair estimate was right on point. My car is running better than ever. I will return to Arbor Motion for all of my car needs. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. As an added surprise...my car was washed/cleaned when I arrived to pick it up. Thank you for making this a good experience.

going out of town for a short week i really wanted to get my vehicle's oil changed and tires aligned with an overall inspection. Another Great service experience with these guys. I drive an Audi, so I don't take the car just anywhere and they have a Audi tech, so They identified a wheel bearing going bad, serviced it within a day and had it back on the road. Reasonable pricing, friendly service and timely. The got all three right!

I have been taking my cars to ArborMotion for at least 13 years and they have consistently offered excellent and knowledgeable customer support and mechanical service. They have never recommended service that I didn't need and have gone out of their way to save me money. I have used Arbor Motion for service on my vehicles for many years. If someone treats me badly, I don't go back. So, when I say "many years" it must mean that they have treated me right. That would, however, be an understatement. This is one of the finest organizations from the owner right down to the last mechanic. They do everything right. And their customer service is pure gold. If there was ever ANYTHING I was not completely satisfied with, they would instantly make it right. They put the dealerships to shame. Great service, work done right. ArborMotion is my go to garage now. Each of their staff consistently provide exceptional service. I trust their guidance and I appreciate how easy they make scheduling and shuttling. Any time I have waited, they've done better than other garages sticking to an estimated wait time. We agreed on, and scheduled, a service date for a 9 hour repair on my M3, with me providing all the BMW parts. One day prior to the shop date Mike called. I was told there was a problem, and they would either need to keep my car for over a week, or I could reschedule the service for another date two weeks in the future. Absolutely unprofessional customer service.

Chuck and the rest of the Arbormotion team did a wonderful job on my 2006 530i. With 245,000 miles, I don't trust the work to many, but they hit it out of the park.
