Loved this place when Wayne ran it. The new guy has no sense of customer service. If you want to take your car somewhere that will make a mistake, refuse to acknowledge it, and refuse to fix it, come to McCracken West! If you want someone to actually do the work you asked for without being rude, well, look elsewhere.

We have been customers of McCracken for over 30 years and would never go anywhere else. Wayne is lovely to work with and always offers an honest assessment and quote for work needed on our vehicles. Wayne and the team will also recommend another reputable shop if the work is not in their scope - we recently were referred for exhaust work on an older Camry and were very happy with the work done. The mechanics are the best and the work is always excellent. I highly recommend McCracken as your family mechanics!Service: General repairs & maintenance

The team at McCracken Auto West came through for me again!My wife broke down on her Thursday evening commute home. I had the car towed to McCracken well after closing hour and just left a key and a note in their mailbox. Although already quite busy, manager Mark called me first thing Friday morning to give a status update, and somehow master mechanic Al squeezed me into his schedule.As a result of their hard work I had my car back in time for the weekend.Thanks again.Services: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement, Auto maintenance

Wayne was wonderful to work with and even came to our work location to inspect the vehicle in order to provide an estimate (not easy without it being on a lift but Wayne managed just fine). We got updates and work was done in a timely manner. Update to this review: The oil hose on our car leaked almost all of the oil, rapidly. We barely made it to a parking spot in Norwood Center. This was at 5 pm on a Friday night hours before a big snowstorm was expected. Wayne came out with oil and got our car back to McCracken. We had it back on Monday after the storm. Amazing customer focus and service! We will never take our cars anywhere else.We've been using them for years and trust them completely. Great repairs, reasonable prices, and excellent to work with. 15% off coupon from Roche Brothers receipt was a great find and discount.Service: Engine repair

McCracken Auto West is the first auto shop I have ever had a pleasant experience with. I went in there with an unknown issue that had previously been fixed by someone else and they are most honest, professional shop. This is not a place that will attempt to upsell you in any way shape or form and they treat you like they would handle services for their own cars - by doing everything in their power to fix the job without it costing you more than it needs to. Wayne has been incredibly helpful and always takes me in when I call him, and even did so in the 100 degree heat the day my AC stopped working and I had a long trip to make, even though he was closing for the day.I will never go anywhere else. You should know they are extremely fair priced, I highly recommend McCracken for anything and everything. Their entire staff is a pleasure which is the cherry on top!

They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. First instead of taking on an expensive emissions repair, Wayne pointed out we had a voluntary recall coming. So we went to a dealership and had the repairs done for free. It was like in Miracle on 34th Street when St. Nick let s shoppers know they can get a better deal at another store. Uncommon integrity and service! Second we badly needed new tires with snow coming and they turned the job around in a day! We highly recommend them for prompt service with integrity and value.Service: Tires

I ve been to several auto mechanics for my old toyota over the past 6 years and McCkraken is hands down the best around. Wayne goes above and beyond to keep your car running and make things convenient for you. One time I needed an oil change but had a conflicting dentist appointment, and Wayne & crew went and picked up my car, did the oil change, and drove it back to my dentists office before I was even finished. These guys are GOOD. Whether you are still driving your first car and trying to extend its life, or you drive a new luxury vehicle, Wayne will take great care of you.

I have never had a disappointing experience with any services provided by McCracken. McCrakens in Westwood is excellent. Wayne provides top notch customer service and doesnt cut corners. He makes sure the work is done correctly and on a timely basis. Fast, reliable service at a fair price. Wayne went above and beyond today, taking care of what I thought was a battery issue (turned out to be connectors) and also did an oil change and repaired a faulty TPMS sensor in one of my tires. These guys do great work!

Wayne has been outstanding in responding to my needs of my 2010 Honda Civic. The old hooptie needed a bunch of work in the past year - from a new tire after a flat, to new drums in the back, to a cracked A/C, and some broken bits of the exhaust system. He was very responsive, always up to walking me through the changes, in language I could understand, and helped me out a few times when in a pinch.If you live nearby, go here. I don t have enough wonderful things to say about McCracken s west. They have gone above and beyond for us more times then I can keep track of. Being a woman who knows nothing about cars I was always nervous about being taken advantage of. I have nothing to worry about here. They are always honest and will let you know if something needs to be done right away or if it can be put off a little longer.I need to give a special shout-out to Wayne who runs the front desk. He is so kind, professional and knowledge. He takes the time to break things down so I understand exactly what is wrong with my car. We moved to northbridge, an hour away from Westwood but we still continue to go there because they are just that amazing!

I trust Wayne and the crew at McCracken's so much that I had my daughter s car towed 93 miles to have them service it.As always, they delivered professional, quality service at a fair price with a personal touch.My family's had our cars serviced at both the West Roxbury and Westwood locations for over 45 years.

Can't speak highly enough of McCracken Auto (& Wayne, in particular). I missed YEARS of Routine Maintenance because unreliable family Mechanic. I've had the distinct pleasure of being close friends with the man who runs this shop for over 30 years. He's been turning wrenches for that long as well. He works diligently at perfecting his craft and will always be my go to guy for anything automotive related. I know he can pinpoint any problem with expert efficiency! His is the sister shop to the original McCracken's located in West Roxbury which has been around for 4 generations now I believe. I cannot recommend these folks more highly than any other business that I've ever reviewed. These people have created and maintained the standard for excellence!

I recently moved nearby and brought my car in for a oil change / checkup. The staff was extremely helpful and communicated the progress of the work throughout the day. Unlike other mechanics I have been to, I never felt pressured to have additional work done. At the end of the day, the overall assessment was thorough and helpful. I will definitely be coming back for future work.
